Gracias.

Looks like your peers are outdated.
What's in your electric.conf?
If you do not have one try something like the following, adjust to suit your own requirements:
Code:
listen=1
server=1
rpcuser=????????????rpc
rpcpassword=????????????????????????????????????????????????????
maxconnections=16
addnode=electricsherlock.no-ip.biz
addnode=54.72.113.27
addnode=101.187.42.235
addnode=123.243.112.171
addnode=198.204.227.118
Gen=0

It seems that it worked. Thanks for the help. Let's see if we see something like the title of the thread says.

This has nothing to do with the problem but do you do any work related to cryptorush?

New Update coming to address the Openssl security issue , please keep an eye.

Hi soopy, I've trying to sync my wallet but it does not. I downloaded the chain that it's on this thread. I deleted all the files and copied the new chain in the roaming electric folder, but it does not do anything. I am doing it with windows. Do you know how I can solve it?. Thanks.

What's going on with cryptorush? I kept volt coins in there and now is not available anymore? Have they lost the coins or is it just temporal?

Exposed as a scam exchange after a "hack" that lost $100k of coins & then they went insolvent
They are still working on a resolution. Check their Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheCryptoRush

I am really hoping that they are doing a good job. Otherwise they will not get trust any more ever.

Ok, this is volume in btc. Tips is in pair only with LTC in cryptsy. That's why there is 0 volume.

He estado haciendo cuentas y me parece que voy a echarme atrás.

This is quite a mess indeed. First thing that needs to be done is make it easy for new users to come and use the wallet. Is it possible to put together a download that includes all the current blocks up to date for the wallet so we can avoid this sync issue?

Next thing we need all the pools to be mining on the same chain. I emailed some of them and the only one that replied to me was the nice chap over at dedicated pools. Bitember did not even need to be contacted as they sorted theirs out themselves in a timely manner. The rest have not replied to my email about the issue so my only advice for now is to avoid those pools for mining volt until we get this cleared up.

I can see that a few people have lost some coins in this mess... I am not so sure if there will be a way to recover 100% of all the lost coins but there may be a chance at doing a transaction recovery that I read somewhere in the cent/pennies threads. Check the razorlove thread for foobar and pennies etc. Some people there had some commands that could be put into the wallet to try and recover lost transactions. Not sure if that will work in this case, I am no expert on wallets and code, but its definitely worth a try.

If these issues can be fixed and we see a bit of stability in the coming months then I will be more than happy to put my computer hardware shop online to accept volt as payment exclusively. Someone else said earlier in this thread that mining another profitable coin and trading for volt would be a better idea to attract more volume and new miners. Seems like a great idea to me but personally I will probably do a 50/50 split on my machines with half on volt and half on another coin and trade in for volt.

Also as the others said, getting a solid community together is a must. If there are any other people that would like to offer services or e-commerce for volt or have any other ideas to support the coin and help it move forward I can be contacted on freenode IRC in channel #ccwirral

My opinion is to start from zero. To start volt in a good way, devianttwo should be out of the coin and let another dev team who is willing to take the project. The only thing he is doing is obstructing the way since the beggining, starting with those 2% giveaways which are quite dark. I hope he has no coins left or he has used them in a honoured way because that stinks too much. He is not showing and when he shows he is talking some bullshit which any person with enough brightness could see. A new clean face is needed. I suggest to tell him to let the wallet to different people to work on it. Once he is out and a new dev takes the project, show his face openly to the people who is supporting the coin and tries to solve those errors that are happening and be in touch with the community, then people will come and we can see a new resurrection with scamers away. This has to be done relatively fast as the cryptorace is starting to settle a bit and it's hard to scalate positions and gain popularity with so many 'competitors' around.

I was just curious couldn't the community take over this coin? and just recompile a new wallet that works? if so we should do that as the dev isn't a supportive dev and dosnt care for this coin obviously.

That makes sense. +1

I have an idea and I leave it here for the devs in case they see it interesting somehow.

A good way to make the coin known for a big ammount of people is offering it in a big platform. With platform, i mean as mentioned in this thread before, youtube, facebook, whatever big platform that reaches a lot of persons.
I undestand that youtube and facebook is not easy as they deal with a lot of media and they probably dont have any progress or success by adding the coin.
The platform that I would think about is a platform that reaches a substantial amount of people but it's not so known worldwide yet and they have big chances to expand or to remain as it is for a big amount of persons.

And the way to implement Tips or Fedora or however you wanna call it (it's called in a different way everywhere you look at) which I don't understand yet. If you want to call it Fedora don't put TIPS in the exchanges, you are just acting contradictory. And my opinion is that TIPS is much better. For the amount of coins that deals with Fedora which is 500 billions is not a currency that is gonna be more appreciated than a tip, so I find it better to call it just as it is. Easier and more simple, better to reach people and honestly, even a tip is very optimistic having in mind that any tip in my country is at least 0.25$, which would make market cap of Fedora?? Tips?? 100 billion FIAT $.

I keep going as I went out of the path. I think a good way to implement it's to offer a platform, the one that I can't figure out yet, but let's say something like zynga, would be to offer them a big ammount of coins. Let's say one billion of fedoras for example for the deal of accepting Tips in their platform (games, for any big or medium game platform of android). In this way, people who is interested in playing inside of this big platform would exchange their money for Tips to play in those games. Why would they accept to exchange their FIAT currency for tips if they are spending the same and is gonna be for the same use. Ok, here is the second point. The deal with that platform should be to offer the game or whatever it is for a cheaper price than what it actually cost in FIAT money. What's the point for them? The point for them is accepting the deal for 1 billion (random amount) tips plus accepting TIPS for payment which they can later exchange. Ok, and what does TIPS win with this? More recognition and more people to know it and more volume. All these 3 previous points are always good.

Is it easy? No, it's not easy. But easy things is for people who don't success, at least in this game.

As I say. It's just an idea, and I try to make contribution for the coin. This is how business is made. It's time to forget about logos and names and start to push hard into real things. I think the devs are great with coding but I agree with what some persons have pointed out about the need of having a big marketing because the code is inside and none can see it. People is not interested in how money is printed, but in how they can use it.

Hardware Específico de Minería Scrypt
by
airman
on 10/03/2014, 21:24:50 UTC

Agradezco opiniones, sugerencias y aclaraciones.

What's going on??

Deviantwo is not the dev of this coin any more. He left the coin long time ago and he is not taking any responsibility of it. He is the scammer number one of this coin with 2% premining. Now he is done because he sold his coins and run away with his premine profit.

Now things are more balanced as the pre-mine is away and shared between different people.

I heard ccwirral is taking the leading of the coin but I haven't heard from him/her since weeks.

Someone must take the coin and implement KG code.

Miners who are supporting this coin should mine something else and buy VOLT with some of the sales.

The coin is way undervalued and the people who own it need to support it.

I suggest to use it in first place to try to purchase games and similar stuff on e-shops and maybe as ccwirral talked about in a previous post to purchase different things related to computers,but this will be obviously further in time.

Hi guys,

I see that we need to make big exposure of this great currency as it has a lot of potential for the future. The more opened it is, the more people will pay attention to it. And to reach more people you need to make them understand through different languages. Not everyone speaks english even if some people think that english is spoken by every citizen in the world.

I am spanish and I could make translations of plain text for any text in english.

If any of the devs need any help for translating webpages or implementing spanish language in anything related to Tips which is useful for the currency you can send me a pvt message or reply this one. I will be checking and I'll do it for free, so no negotiation needed.

Spanish is spoken in almost all South America and Spain, which I could say that it's 240 millions of persons easily, it's a huge population that needs to know about this.

Tips for youtube!

I think that's a good idea, we could open a new thread explaining KGW implemented and giveaways, explaining the new ideas and the future of the coin.
What do you think ccwirral?

Volt News: Brought to you by ccwirral.

1: We are working on getting a fork to add the kimoto gravity well to this coin. That should give us some stability for natural growth in both hashrate and price.

2: Once no1 has been finished up work is going to be started on opening an online shop that accepts volt. This will start small with things like risers, cooling fans and other small easily shipped items internationally. (We are based in the UK, but will try and discount enough so its worth it for all you USA and other international people).

3: If no2 has enough interest we will look to grow that shop into selling mining capable graphics cards, motherboards and other equipment with just enough margin so we can make a profit and also keep it cheap enough to keep everyone interested.

4: Here in the UK a few of us are working together to build a scrypt farm to secure the hashrate of many different altcoins with a lot of those machines being dedicated to making money for charitable causes. We will be starting work on this in the summer and aim to start with 100 mh/s building up to 1 gh/s then to 10 gh/s over the next year. Some of these hashes will be dedicated to volt to make sure the coin does not "die".

5: People have been discussing giveaways in this thread for some time so I will take it upon myself to start a few small giveaways from my own stash of volt and will be looking for donations towards any any further giveaways. If any big holders want to get involved to help promote the coin that would be greatly appreciated.

So thats whats been in the works on my end for the time being. if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions for the future of volt feel free to get involved. If you have been holding volt and are getting a little worried about the price drop on cryptorush etc just treat it as a medium-long term holding coin while we get things up and running.

Besides, the low price has put off the big multipool hashrate that was dominating the coin supply for a while, so this temporary low price is a blessing in disguise in my opinion as it is now viable to mine volt again.

Good perspective ccwirral. Common sense finally.
