Hi! Could anyone help me to point out a link or a tutorial how to send/receive XCP on windows?

Thank you!

The tutorial on my signature is very detailed.

It is not detailed to me. Do you have a tutorial for easy and fast way of using xcp?

The word detailed maybe not the one you meant ? It's extremely detailed, it literally holds your hand start to finish and explains every little thing. Or try this http://counterpartyd-build.readthedocs.org/en/latest/

Hi Halfcab, can you please help me with BoottleXCP conf file?

I used the JahPowerBit's sample conf file in https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,74.0.html except that I used my login credentials.

Hi Jahpowerbit, When I try to install the BoottleXCP for windows 7, I get the error "No Module named apsw". I am following the steps in http://www.reddit.com/r/xcp/comments/1zzhyg/.

Any help?

I think you may be able to pip3 install apsw - or there are binaries http://code.google.com/p/apsw/downloads/list
Can't remember exactly how I did it and I don't have my windows pc to check.

Got it. thanks

Can't wait to get all Web wallety.

Will the web wallet affect the XCP price in positive way?

At first probably not, lots of dumping but then longer term near certainly. I think most would agree.

Why not a minimum XCP balance, say 1 XCP, be imposed on web wallet to support XCP price?

Your very insightful financial comments are teaching us so much. Please tell us more.

61 useful comments so far.

idiot alert.

Community has a lot to learn from this guinea pig

Who is the idiot here ? The clown asking for something that no one can tell ? If we knew what the future is like, we would all be living la vida loca on some tropical island with tons of bitches.

With your huge financial background, can you explain to us, simple minded people, how on earth having web wallets with 1 XCP is supposed to support the price in any way ? I am waiting for the master demonstration.

Also, since you mentioned *guinea pig*, you might want to go through this thread a little bit more. I was not part of the greedy guinea pigs crying after the poloniex hack, asking the impossible for the devs, and so on.

So please, keep your genius' comments / questions for you, you are just completely clueless and worthless, thanks.

Let me do some impersonation :
Oh, and do you know the next lottery winning numbers ? <- This is you, a clown. (I had to explain, since you don't get simple things apparently)

No, the official Bozo of the community cant understand this simple financial logic. This is not for you.

Just keep doing your idiotic Bozo job

I think that making an intro video interviewing people is going to be a bit boring and you are going to be losing peoples interest.
Most people have an attention span of 20-30 seconds.

The best method of marketing right now is making it dead-simple. Bright colors, simple graphics, etc.

Just like the animated what is bitcoin video; it needs to be short, concise and entertaining.
Time for interviews and real use-cases can come later. In my opinion it would be foolish to lay the "counterparty is the way of the future, now listen to these guys tell you why" deal on the unwashed masses just yet.

Start simple, friendly animated and colorful graphics, pleasant background music, some voice-over with bullet/point form of the features and potential uses of the protocol.

Answer these questions; What, Who, Where, When, Why:
  • What: a method of creating complex transactions and financial derivatives among other things as well as storing and sending wealth.
  • Who: Originally made by a team of developers, CP is open-source and developed by the community.
  • Where: Counterparty can be run from any computer connected to the internet. No need for banks, brokers and exchanges.
  • When: Counterparty is two months old, still in its infancy, with a very bright future ahead.
  • Why: The current de-facto method of transfering and storing wealth online (bitcoin) is great, but is limited in scope. Where bitcoin aims to replace corrupt and malicious financial systems, counterparty aims to replace many corrupt pillars of the financial world entirely in a safe and secure manner.

In fact, if you can directly emulate the animated what is bitcoin video it would be most successful.

+1

Should be like, Sell me this pen.

That's fantastic.

Why not post a separate announcement thread to attract new members to the community?

Newbie here.  So is proof-of-burn still how people are buying these?  Or should I buy through Poloniex? Wink

Burn period was over 45 days ago. You shall buy through BTER/Poloniex.

Only 'small' issue with XCP, is our lack of exposure. Only 2 nerds and 3 geeks know about it, and we can see tons of inferior coins (functionnality-wise) getting an insane value, just because of the hype. This is the only potential point of failure of XCP as of today.

Don't forget that Adam from Let's Talk Bitcoin is starting LTBcoin on top of Counterparty. This project will be launched soon and he's already talking about it in every show. I guess we will see quite an interest in LTBcoin and Counterparty once this went live.

bingo

But we shouldn't just rely on Adam to do our marketing for us. Everyone seems to think we need more exposure, but no one is really stepping up and taking the initiative.

Is there anyone who is very comfortable with Counterparty and would be willing to do a video for it? Anyone with video editing experience?

he's not doing marketing for you.  he is USING the protocol for his own business.

videos are for mass market, and there is no way that the current state of xcp, msc, etc is ready for that.  a lot of technical things that need to get worked out.

We'll have to see how easy Counterwallet is to use, I guess. But if it's easy enough, why wouldn't we try to make a video? There are probably some people in the community who are not very technical, and they can tell us whether they found the video useful.

Besides, videos are not the only way to market. Do you have any suggestions what we as a community can do?

halfcab was doing a video. shall ask him on this
