You can make profits from cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin. But from my perspective, it is not a bad time to invest in Bitcoin or any other popular cryptocurrencies in the market. You could go for any of them if you believe the idea behind it.

First of all, India did NOT ban cryptocurrencies. It is not a legal tender meaning you can't exchange goods with cryptocurrencies.

"The government does not consider cryptocurrencies as legal tender or coin and will take all measures to eliminate the use of these crypto assets in financing illegitimate activities, or as part of the payment system," Jaitley said according to economic times article.

I would advise you not to invest more than you can afford to lose. Of course, there is a risk in the market even if it's less. It has value because people believe in it and there is no guarantee that people's thoughts will not change in future.

Negative, There are many more places for investing your money. If you want to invest in cryptocurrencies solely because everyone in your vicinity is doing it then you should not invest in it. "You should not invest money in something you don't know"

You did not consider that a person might be a newbie here but not in cryptoworld. Also, newcomers might have a different and smart perspective.

Indirectly Yes, because most part of the internet is accessed by only knowledgeable and educated people. It automatically has reach to the limited part of the society.
