Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC
by
akuntester1
on 22/09/2023, 17:57:24 UTC
This is what I think but I know members with investment knowledge and others with more and deep knowledge could have a best saying but according to me this whati have to offer to newbies  though I'm also a beginner Smiley.

Your thread really represents the experience of most beginners including myself, because most beginners will definitely be confused about the amount or nominal they will try to invest in crypto.
In my experience as a beginner, before trying to invest with the money we have, we are obliged and very necessary to first learn basic knowledge about crypto and investment, what is worth investing in and how to buy and store the crypto assets we want to invest in.

I am trying to share a little of my experience regarding investment issues as a beginner. I had a bad experience the first time I tried to invest in this crypto world.
Why? because at first I admit I thought all crypto assets were the same and I was only tempted by the profits without knowing whether this crypto asset had the potential or not as a profitable investment.
Without thinking long and without doing any research first, I immediately bought "that" crypto asset and it turns out that this crypto asset has never grown at all and in fact the price continues to decrease compared to when I first bought it.
So in essence, as beginners who really don't have enough knowledge they should be more concerned with learning and increasing their knowledge about crypto rather than thinking about the amount they want to invest to avoid regrets like most careless beginners like me.

I have always been confused about crypto currencies and how they work... how they are stabilised and regulated but with the present plight and constant devaluation of my country's currency, it's safe to say I need to learn, practice and own a safer landing, the banking systems are not helping with constant maintenance levies and network issues. I'm aware that there is no perfect place but anywhere with a more better solution is more preferable. Cheers to the beginning of a new journey.
Yes, you are right. Your concern about banking system problems and currency devaluation is a problem that cannot be avoided by everyone. And you are absolutely right, if we want to survive in these uncertain economic conditions we must be able to follow and study existing developments to maintain and improve the value of the assets we own and to establish financial freedom for ourselves.
If you want to learn and deepen your knowledge about cryptocurrency you are in the right place. In this forum you will get lots of threads or discussions that are very useful and of course will add reading reference material to help you understand cryptocurrency more broadly.
Congratulations on starting your journey OP and most importantly make a clear goal for what you are learning about crypto to increase your enthusiasm in continuing to learn and increase your knowledge about cryptocurrency.

Re: Seniors apply patience and kindness to newcomers

I have concerns about the interactions between experienced members and newcomers in this forum. Occasionally, some experienced members can be quite harsh and may forget that newcomers are here to learn. While constructive corrections are beneficial, it's crucial to avoid using harsh or abusive language.
I think we as beginners in this forum don't need to worry too much and don't need to be hurt if we receive criticism from other members that we may not be able to accept the method or language of criticism from members of this forum.
Everyone has a different character and not everyone can express input or criticism in a good way that we can accept. We can't demand someone to give criticism in the way we like, right!?

In my opinion, we as beginners should be able to adapt to this forum because in fact the more senior members still care about our development and progress as beginners here by giving us criticism so that we can change our mistakes.
In all my time on this forum I have never encountered a criticism that was too harsh or extreme. All the criticism I encounter on this forum is still reasonable in my opinion.

Re: Quality over Quantity
by
akuntester1
on 21/09/2023, 20:06:08 UTC
Recently I've seen alot of threads where people just jump into writing an incredible episode without putting their readers into consideration.
I'm not a fan of reading very long articles and most times I think some posts ought to be simplified and summarized to get ease of attention and from my observation,  it seems most users confuse quantity with quality and think, writing very long post simply means the post has quality  which is wrong.

I've seen very short and straight to the point post doing extremely  very well on the forum and people ought to them learn from  them.
But not everyone can write briefly, concisely and directly to the point. Sometimes some people also like to present an introduction to the topic they are writing about.
In fact, sometimes I also feel a little annoyed when I read an article or thread that is too long, which in my opinion contains too much small talk, so that sometimes I can't catch the important points of the thread and sometimes it also makes us lazy readers to read threads that are too long.
But actually I don't think it's a problem if sometimes someone makes an introduction to the discussion in the thread they created, but at least I think they should also organize their writing format to make it more interesting and easy for other people to read and understand. I mean maybe they could give breaks per discussion and not write all the discussions into one long paragraph.
Honestly, I actually prefer threads that have a pause or enter per discussion because I as a reader can understand the thread per sub-discussion rather than threads that are made into one very long paragraph because that sometimes makes the reader tired too read.

Re: Bitcoin and get rich quick syndrome
by
akuntester1
on 19/09/2023, 21:18:26 UTC
So do you think that I'm correct about bitcoin, that it is not an easy way to get rich quick as some people will make believe, and it is just like other ventures where there is no guarantee of getting rich?
Yes you are right, the perception of Bitcoin as an easy way to get rich quickly in my opinion is a wrong assessment and this perception often misleads someone who does not fully understand what and how Bitcoin works.
If someone is an early adopter of Bitcoin, maybe they can really be rich and enjoy it now, but even then they won't immediately become rich quickly, but they have to be patient for years and face all the risks of rising and falling markets.
But currently Bitcoin is an investment asset that has an increasingly high value for owning it, and the possibility that Bitcoin can make us rich quickly is very small because it depends on how much we spend to invest in Bitcoin and how long we can be patient in holding it.
There is no easy way to get rich quickly, there must be hard work, patience and we must have a strong mentality to face every risk.

Plagiarism on this forum is highly frowned upon and is a violation, especially if you provide an idea or post that originates from AI or similar applications.
I appreciate your efforts and intentions in providing knowledge and information to members of this forum about plagiarism, but it would be nice if you also included the source of the reference you used to educate us. So as not to create a negative perception of yourself.
It seems very clear to us as readers, I think you are also committing plagiarism here because you provide some information without including the reference source.

Being a new member of this forum, I will like to have more clarification and advice, and I will also like to know if there are any PDFs or any sources that I can be directed to study more in order to not offend the law of the forum and avoid any penalties or having my account banned. I will be glad to have many pieces of advice for other members of the forum.
I have never found anyone who has drafted the rules of this forum in downloadable PDF format, but don't worry you can always read the rules that apply easily because the forum rules that must be obeyed have been pinned on the beginner's and help board by the moderator.
I see you have also found a thread created by @Ratimov about encyclopedias beginner and help, you are lucky to have found that thread because there are lots of useful threads created by members of this forum which were then summarized by him.
My advice is to spend more time reading and being active in this forum and you will automatically understand the benefits you will get from this forum according to your needs and desires, such as understanding Bitcoin and crypto more broadly.

Re: A good way to help our children.
by
akuntester1
on 04/06/2023, 18:39:30 UTC
Our children will not be as lucky as we are, we have to help them to know about bitcoins on time so they can have some for themselves. We are lucky because we are of age to know and understand what bitcoin is at this time when the value of bitcoins is still expected to increase not like our children who have no idea and it may be too late for them to make any gain from bitcoin when they finally know about bitcoins if you leave them. A good gift any parent can give to their children for their future is to enlighten their children about bitcoins so they have some knowledge about it at an early age and buy some for the children even before they can begin to get for themselves. What do you think?

Educating our children is not a problem but only when they are interested too.
Yes, I agree more with your opinion, I see that most people want their children to quickly get to know Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency and they hope that their children will be successful in future.
But it is not certain that a child who knows Bitcoin or is introduced to Bitcoin early will become successful in the future. Many factors will influence a child's success because they still have a long way to go.
I don't know, but I think some people are too eager to force their principles on their children to follow in the footsteps of their success in this Crypto world, even though it's not certain that the children's path to success is in Bitcoin.
I agree with you and I think some people should underline your words "if they are interested too". Because I think a child's interests are not necessarily the same as our interests as parents.

I'm not a closed person and forbid parents to teach children about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. I think that's good, but it has to be done in a gradual way and that they can understand.
But it's better before teaching something to our child's, we also have to be able to see the abilities and potential that our children have first.
Don't let our good intentions for our children actually hinder our children's development or interest in something they want.

Because even if young children are eager to learn, but we can’t expect for them to absorb everything we are teaching especially if those topics are too hard for them to understand and connect themselves.
Yes, you're right, at the age of children, I think it's better to focus first on developing their cognitive abilities, teaching them good norms and attitudes, and making sure they get enough love or affection.
In my opinion, it is better to introduce Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency when they are already in their teens or mature enough to be able to digest a thought or a concept of Cryptocurrency.

Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin?
by
akuntester1
on 19/04/2023, 23:54:33 UTC

What do you think about my advised to him?

For someone who just wants to start trying to invest in Bitcoin, of course, $30 I don't think is wrong. I think for some people in countries that have a lower fiat value, $ 30 is quite large.
But you are right if we only expect $30 of course it will take a very long time to get a big profit for investing in Bitcoin.
Maybe if he is interested and wants to continue you should be able to encourage and help him to introduce more knowledge about Bitcoins. Even though there is a high risk, in my opinion we should be able to see good opportunities and follow existing developments such as investing in Bitcoin.
The most important thing, in my opinion, is that he can increase his previous knowledge about investing in Bitcoin, for the matter of investing capital it can be improved over time.
Indirectly he already knows Bitcoin through your explanation, even though he still knows a little about Bitcoin I only hope that in the future he will not be among those who regret it like most people who already know Bitcoin but don't immediately invest in it and it turns out that Bitcoin increases in value over time.

Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin.
by
akuntester1
on 11/04/2023, 23:03:58 UTC
Please correct me if I am wrong
Even in today's modern world, except for a few people in Europe-America, the general public of the entire world does not have a proper understanding of Bitcoin. Sad Sad Except European-American, anyone who have a little idea about Bitcoin also have misconceptions. Due to this problem, many people are unable to invest in a great platform like Bitcoin even if they want to. This problem may not seem like a big deal to many, but think about third world countries. A sad reality is, in my country 80-90% of the population are not familiar with Bitcoin.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

You don't need to be discouraged by the fact that there are still many people who don't know Bitcoin in your country OP. I think Bitcoin is still very young and there are still many pros and cons to Bitcoin which causes a lot of doubts.
Actually we don't need to complain, what we have to do is multiply and deepen our knowledge about cryptocurrencies and focus on our activities in Bitcoin to get our own success that we achieve from Bitcoin.
If you are successful with your activities in Bitcoin then naturally the people around you will ask how you did it and finally they start to get interested in getting to know Bitcoin.
I think to solve the problem of people who don't know or don't want to know Bitcoin efficiently is to give them concrete evidence of success in ourselves.
With that, other people will be easily moved and triggered by themselves and will start to be interested in getting to know Bitcoin because they see real evidence of the success we have achieved.

Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ?
by
akuntester1
on 11/04/2023, 22:33:46 UTC
Although within this community Bitcoin is practically the only currency in which everyone believes, just look around a bit and we will find thousands of people who think otherwise.
At this point I wonder, what reasons should we give these people to make them realise that Bitcoin is a right choice? The first argument that comes to mind to convince a person who is sceptical about Bitcoin, is first of all that with Bitcoin you no longer need to delegate the custody of your money to a third party (banks, mutual funds, etc.): you are the master and you hold them. What else would you add?

I think what you said is right, indeed Bitcoin has the advantage of being fully decentralized or not affected by third parties such as banks.
Even though Bitcoin has been around for more than 14 years and consistently shows its existence, in fact other people still don't believe or won't be able to just believe in things that are new to them like Bitcoin.
What's more, we only introduce Bitcoin to them only through our arguments without any proof of what we have gotten from our activities while using Bitcoin, it will not be able to convince them.
There are many factors that affect them not being able to believe in Bitcoin. Like the negative issue of Bitcoin it's a ponzi scheme or fraud or Bitcoin seems something complicated to understand for people who don't understand technological developments, and maybe there are many other reasons related to the high risk that exists when using Bitcoin.

Sometimes some ordinary people still think Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme or fraud and some people will see that Bitcoin still looks very exclusive because most of them feel they do not have the ability or basic knowledge of technology to own Bitcoin.
If we want to tell people who are still skeptical about Bitcoin, it won't be easy, it will require a process and time and there must be real evidence of what benefits we get so they understand and believe.
I say this because maybe subconsciously all of us here used to be people who didn't really care about Bitcoin before, right?
But in the end, we have our own reasons for trying to enter the cryptocurrency world and trying to get to know and invest in Bitcoin.
I think as time goes by eventually everyone will try to take advantage of Bitcoin, we just need to continue to spread our knowledge about Bitcoin and focus on proving our success in Bitcoin, then naturally other people will be interested.

Re: Giving out to promote Bitcoin

Happy Easter everyone
Today I gave out $20 to 5 random high school students each in a WhatsApp group after of course enlightening them about Bitcoin and conducting a quiz for them I did this in hopes of trying to assist in developing the Bitcoin ecosystem although it's of small impact
I sent the Bitcoin to Thier noncustodial wallet and also enlightened them on how to manage Thier wallet
What do you think!?

Very good idea OP, I think you are doing a good teaching strategy because in my opinion what you are doing is not only teaching and introducing the students in theory about Bitcoin but you invite them to immediately practice even you also stimulate them to be more enthusiastic by giving a number of your Bitcoins.
I think something that will have a big impact sometimes comes from small things. It seems small, but I'm sure it will have a big impact if they manage to understand it well and teach some of their friends.
What's more, they are the next generation of all of us and of course it will more or less influence the development of Bitcoin in the future.
I hope that what you do will be sustainable and that you can always accompany and teach them. Because the steps you take are very effective in my opinion.

Re: Set your mind on your goals and nothing else
by
akuntester1
on 10/04/2023, 19:30:24 UTC
Someone will start to trust us when we show established success. but if we invite someone to follow us even though we haven't found success then it's normal if someone doubts us and even belittles us.

that's why I prefer not to talk too much. I prefer to do more and prove it myself. because if we are successful then people will follow us automatically without us having to invite them first.

I agree with your opinion, I think maybe this is one of the right and good ways, and it doesn't seem to force someone to believe in Bitcoin but makes them believe and be aware of themselves because they see our success.
Because in my opinion, if we want to correct the misconceptions that have existed so far about the thoughts of people who still have a very negative view of Bitcoin and want to introduce Bitcoin to the wider community, we must first prove our success so that other people will be easily attracted and follow to adopt Bitcoin eventually.

and when someone asks for help or advice, it will be wiser if we continue to help and provide advice, but on condition that we are indeed able to help and provide advice that will not be misleading. if it's family or friends then we can help them even though they may have hurt our feelings but of course we don't want to hurt their feelings back. because we know how it feels like a pain that we feel when our heart hurts.

Yes you are right, as human beings we should help each other and always do good. Even if someone belittles us or doubts us, we shouldn't hold grudges against them. Because life will sometimes need each other.
Our life is sometimes not always in a good condition, it could be that one day we are in a bad condition and really need help, if we hold grudges and don't help someone who used to underestimate us, but it turns out that a good opportunity to help us is someone who used to belittle and doubt us.
If something like that happens, we will definitely regret our attitude and behavior towards that person.

I'd like to take this opportunity to share some very important advice with my fellow newcomers in this community, because since joining, I've learned a lot and gained some experience, and I'm confident that if my fellow Newbies get it right, the forum will be the best place they've ever been.

* As a newcomer to bitcoin/cryptocurrency and this community, you must abide by the forum's rules and regulations. This is why the vast majority of newcomers visit these forums only to leave once they realize they can't follow the forum's rules and regulations; whereas the rules are laid out to have a standard forum, protect the forum from any obstacles, and maintain the forum's reputation.

* Some people believe that these forums are simply places where we can come and succeed in life if we participate in them. This is not the case; if you come here expecting to make quick money, you may end up not learning much in the forum, and you won't be able to enjoy a better investment in bitcoin without the fundamental knowledge.

Some basic tips we beginners need to take into consideration to avoid costly mistakes

1. High quality post: One of the most important skills to learn in these forums is how to write meaningful content. If you can't write good content as a newcomer, you would be considered a shitposter in the forum and end up with nothing in your posts. I'm still not sure what a quality post is because there's so much content on this topic with different definitions. All I can say is that we beginners should avoid spamming by making our content meaningful.

2. Plagiarism: As we all know, plagiarism is unacceptable anywhere, including bitcointalk.org. If you do plagiarism and they catch you, you will be permanently banned, regardless of your forum rank, and this is what is affecting those of us who are new to the forum. Most of the time, we fail to read the forum rules until we commit an offense and are punished; Therefore, beginners need to avoid Plagiarism.

3. Inadequate understanding of cryptocurrency: The majority of newcomers to cryptocurrency do not understand it well enough to profit from it. If you don't understand how cryptocurrency works, you risk losing your assets quickly. You must learn from the forum thoroughly before investing in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in order to reduce risk.

Finally, I intend to create this thread based on the little experience I have gained from the forum. I decided to share the mistakes I have observed we beginners making that have been affecting us in the forum.
I welcome corrections and additional suggestions.

You are absolutely right, the 3 important tips that you convey can cover several mistakes that are still often made by beginners in this forum.
Maybe I'll try to add based on my thoughts and experiences too.

1. Don't be lazy to read and understand.
Often beginners only read the existing rules at a glance without understanding the meaning of the rules, even though the rules are very clear in my opinion. But most of them are still not appropriate or violate the rules that have been set.

2. Get into the habit of using forum searches.
Sometimes there are still some beginners making posts but have pre-existing questions or statements.
Sometimes I think this is useful if indeed the previous thread is far hidden by thousands of other threads.
But sometimes there are several threads that were just made today with the same discussion and points as the threads that were just made yesterday by other members.
At least if we want to create a thread with the same discussion, we have to look for a different point of view than the previous thread.

3. Don't expect to get merit quickly.
Often beginners instill the thought of quickly getting merit to quickly be able to rank up to take part in signature campaigns, but if they fail they will be disappointed and stop contributing.
In my opinion, this kind of thinking must be thrown away because it will make us often disappointed and give up easily.

4. The quantity of posts is necessary but also must prioritize quality.
Sometimes there are some beginners who make lots of less important posts in the hope that they can get merit each post.
Sometimes beginners will open posts with basic questions that are already in the rules that are made or that don't fit the topic board.
So often their posts end up being diverted off-topic or even deleted by moderators, and this will make them disappointed themselves and blame that this forum is not friendly to beginners.

5. Don't be discouraged.
If you have no knowledge of cryptocurrencies at all, don't be discouraged. This forum was indeed created to increase beginner's knowledge with various existing discussion topic boards.
Don't be discouraged or insecure because in this forum there are no provisions prohibiting beginners who have no knowledge of crypto at all from joining.
Don't be discouraged if you haven't got merit, what must be done is to increase our knowledge so that we can follow existing discussions or make good posts someday. In this forum there are also several senior members who care about the development of beginners and open several threads to help increase the rank of beginners voluntarily, by submitting our best posts or comments, of course.
The method is very easy, it's just that you have to comply with the terms and conditions made by several members in the thread they made.

Maybe that's a few additions from me according to my experience and journey in this forum. If something is wrong, please correct it and ask for justification so as not to cause misunderstandings for other beginners.

Re: Be patient, don't get discouraged.
by
akuntester1
on 09/04/2023, 20:03:16 UTC
This is a good encouragement to the forum members I think I would say patience is the best way of achieving the best price in life also discouragement deprives us of our confidence so I think it is better to be patient in all we do even the best investors and entrepreneurs are very interested in being patient till they get a better  result

Yes, patience is good for forum members specially to those newbie example is the newbie who want to get merit fast, if you can't wait to get merit this forum is not for you, this forum is all about consistency, patience, hardworking, and also helpful in this community. If you follow this you will achieve your goals no matter what, just be patient all the time and something good will happen to you

It doesn't seem right if beginners instill the thought of wanting to get merit quickly. Yes, even though to be honest, we really need merit to move up in rankings.
But if indeed our contribution is good and useful for other members, the merit will be given to us automatically without us asking and not expecting it.
Other people's assessment of our posts or comments is relative and unpredictable. All we do is have to continue to contribute according to our abilities and knowledge.
Don't be disappointed and give up if our posts or comments are not given merit by other members or even deleted by moderators.
But if you want, we can also propose our posts or comments in several threads that are made to help beginners to rank up.
The most important thing is that we do our best, always be patient, consistent and increase our knowledge.

Whatever we do, patience, consistency and trying hard is necessary so that we can grow and be better.
To be honest, I feel that sometimes this forum is like a reflection of family. If a beginner like me makes a mistake or does something that is not appropriate, there will surely be other members who will remind us in their own way.
Either it reminds us with firm criticism and some reminds us with good explanations like what OP did.
I just realized this because I've been sick for a few weeks and I insisted on opening my laptop wanting to just play games and check this forum because I'm tired of doing nothing in bed, but my brother forbids it and reminds me to prioritize health first.
I remember and feel this is exactly what the members of this forum do when giving advice to beginners like me.

"Consistency is what transforms Average into Excellence"

Your advice is great for fellow newbies who just joined this forum.
It's true that consistency is good for anyone, not just beginners, in my opinion.
Provided that consistency is carried out and accompanied by positive values such as making posts or comments that are constructive and informative.

you've gotta try as much as (basically everyday) to keep sharing contents or making eligible posts with also commenting on other people's contents in order to grow your status.

I don't agree with your opinion about sharing content or posts every day.
There is no guarantee if we make or post every day it will increase our status or rank.
Precisely I think your suggestion might even have the potential to encourage someone to do spam.
Quantity is important but it also has to be "quality".

Be consistent with increasing knowledge on ourselves first.

Re: How can old people use bitcoin?
by

on 08/03/2023, 11:11:06 UTC
If adoption comes around, will their be higher consumer congenial systems for old people to utilize crypto?

The fact is that until now the adoption of Bitcoin has existed and has been done, right?
Even today there are also several countries that have special regulations for Bitcon and legalize it.
In my opinion, there is nothing to worry about when it comes to age.

Old human beings are the first to emerge as inclined to scams if adoptions comes around,

I don't think age is the only factor that determines whether someone is gullible.
The main factor that someone tends to be deceived is due to a lack of knowledge or someone's carelessness.

I don't be conscious of how this is going to work out for old human beings

Look at us "humans" we have gone through several eras from ancient times to the present digital age.
Humans will continue to adapt to existing innovations or developments, right?
I don't think old people need to worry too much because Bitcoin also doesn't require someone to understand and own it, right?
Even if someday Bitcoin is legal and adopted throughout the world, one day there will definitely be innovations developed to make it easier for the owner.

by
akuntester1
on 05/03/2023, 17:30:58 UTC
Actually,if we just to explain to lay people what the OP conveyed is quite easy to understand.
How do you guys like to explain bitcoin?

I personally like to use the penny/dollar : satoshi/bitcoin example.

One hundred pennies equal one dollar
One hundred million satoshis equal one bitcoin

I think your opinion is absolutely right, if we want to introduce and bring people further to know about Bitcoin, of course things are different.
They'll never appreciate the value and role of Bitcoin to them if they won't clearly understand it that is why we shouldn't hurry to teach them but rather do it step by step until we reach the goal. Because Bitcoin is not just a few words or a simple discussion but indeed, it was a long discussion which means that it takes time for the listeners to catch up. especially when we are mentioning some technical terms.

If we want to not only explain but invite them further to get to know Bitcoin, it must be gradual so that ordinary people can understand.
And if we want to explain and invite people to get to know Bitcoin, we should really understand the basic knowledge and knowledge about crypto ourselves.
So that there are no blundering explanations to the people we invite.
