There is an article on the official ethereum forum about the secure web wallet https://ethereumwallet.org.
If you are interested, you can read that article by following the link below.
It has many screenshots and a noob friendly step by step tutorial.

OneEther, this is a great toolset you have made. If you are interested in integrating the secure browser based client side crypto Web Wallet https://ethereumwallet.org into your service I could assist you with that. The wallet could be integrated neatly into your design.

The safe and secure Ethereum web wallet https://ethereumwallet.org has just relayed its 2500th transaction.
This is a giant leap towards mass adoption of Ether!

Just wanted to inform you that the secure web wallet

https://www.ethereumwallet.org

has just relayed the 1000th transaction.
Thank you very much for your commitment and your trust.
Hi, whith this wallet can I import ethereum coin bought on presale. Or is there any other way to import my coins. with the frontier thing, I am not familiar with it.
Help!

Unfortunately there is no function yet to import a presale wallet into the web wallet.
What you can do is install GETH and follow this guide to import your presale wallet.

http://ethereum.gitbooks.io/frontier-guide/content/wallet.html

Then launch geth using

Code:
geth -rpc console

and then paste this string after adjusting the 0xYOUR_WEB_ADDRESS  address. This should be the address you can get from the web wallet by clicking the "Receive" button. Also "100" should be replaced by the amount of ether you have in your presale wallet.

Code:
eth.sendTransaction({from:eth.accounts[0], to:"0xYOUR_WEB_ADDRESS", value: web3.toWei(100, "ether")})

Yes, this is planned for the near future.
First we will integrate contract interaction and in the next step finish the mobile wallet.

Right now if you visit https://ethereumwallet.org from your mobile device, it should aleady render mobile phone friendly and look like a native app.

This is amazing,

the secure web wallet
https://ethereumwallet.org
has just relayed its 1500th transaction.

So is this 100% sure? I don't know should I just go with this online wallet or should I mess around with the clients. Clients do seem very complicated. I manage to get to work GETH on one of my computers, but on the second I didn't manage, I keep getting an error.

I don't know should I waste time on the clients or should I just use this online wallet.

Can somebody with more experience please confirm.

Thanks!

Hi,

the wallet should be just as secure as any other console client out there.
None of your secrets (be it password or private key) is ever transmitted over the internet as all cryptographic operations take place in the browser.

The code is available freely on github to verify.
Plus, it is based on the blockchain.info wallet which makes it even more robust. You can be sure that it has been penetration tested already by all those who want to make a quick buck.

If you have any other questions just ask.

Wow very interesting!

Can you explain me how does it work?

Thank you Alan.

Its basically an offline client for ethereum running inside the browser.
This means, all cryptographic operations like signing etc. are done locally on your computer.
Something is stored on the server though and that is an encrypted version of your wallet.
This again means that nobody has access to your wallet but you.
Once you log in the encrypted wallet is downloaded by your browser and decryped locally using your password. Then the client is run locally and allows you to send and receive funds. Just make sure you use a strong password, its hashed 5000 times though so bruteforcing it is not possble.

You secrets never leave your computer which makes the wallet as safe as a local GETH client.

Also you always own the private key. So you at any time can import it into your GETH client and continue using your wallet entirely offline.

There were some doubts concerning the new ethereum wallet web app, because the source code was not released yet.
Therefore I would like to announce that the source code for https://ethereumwallet.org has been
released on github: https://github.com/Ethereumwallet/online-wallet-hd

2 BTC give-away for using new Ethereum Web Wallet
by
alan.d
on 30/08/2015, 18:07:55 UTC
Hello,

Me and a few other students have created a secure zero-trust client side web wallet for Ethereum.

https://ethereumwallet.org

We have anounced it here on bitcointalk and on reddit.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1161845

As we are passionate coders but not very good marketing people, we try to get more users to try out our new web wallet.
We are giving away our last 2 BTC to those of you, who want to try out the system.

Payout Ledger:

1 BTC is randomly assigned to one person. All persons with at least one outgoing transaction are eligable.
Please post your transaction hash or your address here, so we can check whether this transaction was relayed through our geth node or not (as we have no access to your wallets at all).
The random selection is done provably fair.
We provide you
SHA256(num) = fb546e8ac5a5da2952bb3c8b5b8de9f1a25f5da413ecd3828fce1711530aa7af
a hash of a very large number. We modulo that number with the number of people who participated to determine the index which one of the submissions (ordered by time) is chosen.

1 BTC goes to the person with the largest outgoing transaction. Also here, please post the hash

Competition Ends:

September, 30th - 23:59 GMT

Whats up Community,

What is this all about?

My name is Alan. Me and a small group of students are what you would call "crypto-nerds".
We are following the entire crypto scene for a very long time, and Ethereum has raised our attention a while ago.

We found that the ethereum clients (that you find out in the wild) are too geeky for the average user. So
in order to improve the mass adoption of ETH, we want to give our contribution to the community and introduce

A Secure Ethereum Web Wallet
https://ethereumwallet.org

Your password is never sent to the server. What the server does save, it your AES encrypted wallet.
When you visit the website it would then download the encrypted wallet, and decode it locally using your password.
The decoded data at no point leaves your computer.
For an additional security measure you may export your 12 word mnemonic seed, so even if you lose your password you can recover your funds.
Also here, the mnemonic is never transmitted to the server.
This web client works just like any other offline ethereum client.

The source code is based on a fork of blockchain.info's source code for the HD wallet.
What you basically get is a Web-Wallet which is entirely is in your possession. That means that you are the only one having the private keys to your ethereum addresses.
A copy of your wallet is stored on the webserver AES-encoded with your password that also at no time is transmitted to our server.
So even when our server should get compromised, your coins are at no time in danger.

Other security features allow you to set up a Two Factor Authentication using Google Authenticator or export your wallet using a simply memorable mnemonic string.

So start your wallet now with an unlimited number of accounts (all derived using BIP0039 techniques from the mnemonic secret of your wallet)

Alpha Stadium

Please note that the software is in alpha stadium right now, yet fully functional when it comes down to sending and receiving ETH. Further versions of the software will be entirely compatible with the wallets generated by the alpha.
However, there will be bugs. And this is good!
If you like to contribute to our project, feel free to test excessively and give us feedback about possible bugs or errors.

I prefer client-side Javascript stuff. Online wallets are always owner's cash.

This wallet is client-side javascript stuff. The crypto (including all keys, signatures etcetera) is performed locally on your computer.
Basically the same principle blockchain.info pursues. Your funds are not stored on our server neither is any password/privatekey ever transmitted to the server.

Indeed,
when i check https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=ethereumwallet.org
it tells me the following:

Quote
The certificate is not trusted in all web browsers. You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate. Learn more about this error. You can fix this by following Comodo's Certificate Installation Instructions for your server platform (use these instructions for InstantSSL). Pay attention to the parts about Intermediate certificates.

Let me purchase a different SSL. I will be back to you shortly. Would you like to have a few ETH or a few mBTC as a small thank you?
