Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments

Can there be an easy way for converting BlackByteballs in to Byteballs?
We read about the bot straight in the customer which allow someone transform

There are two bots which enable you to exchange blackbytes for bytes and vice-versa. You can read about them in the Wiki : https://wiki.byteball.org/Blackbytes#Bots.

Can you tell me where is your signature from? Is there a thread? Looks nice and in the future I might wear because I loved byteball from day one

We are going to reward users who help spread the word about Byteball and starting a signature campaign on this forum

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3162547.0

The campaign will be paid from the undistributed funds.

Yep. I don't know why I FOMO'd in so quickly to this coin. I surely would take it back and wait till it became decentralised before I invested.
I thought Byteball was built on top of Byzantine model. Can it be decentralized?

In my mind, the BYTEBALL is the best alter-coin derived from the bitcoin, but more than bitcoin.
-snip-
It's actually very different, but not being a copycat of it gives Byteball a huge advantage, since it's not in direct competition with Bitcoin.

The wolf of wall street predicted the value of Bitcoins to hit 50k dollars before crashing further.

But we aren't seeing any up too soon , it's just getting down and down.

The value is now even below 9000$ and that's something close to what it was a year before and everyone is in a loss right now .

So are you gonna encash , ?
Do you think that the value will crash even further ?
I think the price can go down for one more week, but that's nothing that Bitcoin hasn't been able to handle before.

Btw, last time I saw him, the Wolf of Wall Street was trash talking Bitcoin. Where did you get this information?

It would be great to add a few more real projects that have potential to be the next big thing.... but as yet they seem impossible to locate

Real project, with actual usecase, product in testnet (April to mainnet), under the radar (below/around 100m mcap atm): SHIFT
Look into it, easy $100. They're going to start marketing this Q because they wanted to have a product (Phantom) first. Their own site https://www.shiftnrg.org/#/ is now hosted on Phantom.
Phantom works with IPFS, that means a decentralized internet. Read their newsletters and their roadmap, you won't be dissapointed. You'll wonder why it's still so low.
Check it out.

Also, end of the month is a whitepaper release and next week they will add dates to their roadmap. It's very promising. They didn't have an ICO, but started working from scratch.
Decentralized internet? I suppose it doesn't use a blockchain. How could people store hundreds of terabytes per day if they have a full node?

Re: If you knew Bitcoin would never change in value, would you buy it?
by
alex_mercer
on 21/12/2017, 20:43:43 UTC
Yes, because regardless of Bitcoin changing its value, we know that the future of all fiat currencies is to go down. Kiss

Btw, that condition by itself implies that Bitcoin will continue to go up.
Good point. How can Bitcoin not change its value when all fiat currencies are losing value? You will need more fiat do buy Bitcoin as time passes...

by

If that kind of statement was true, that would only mean that Bitcoin is not decentralized.
What I think is that people overestimate China's influence over Bitcoin, and underestimate Bitcoin's decentralization.

I don't understand why people take so much risk in altcoins, when Bitcoin itself brings such great returns. Most serious investors in the world have targets at 3 to 5% a month. Bitcoin gave more than 400% this year.

Nobody reads the OP anymore? That's the problem with signature campaigns.

Sadly but true! Thanks for pointing that out!
Yeah man, that's another thing for mods and signature managers to keep an eye on.

These days it's all about the post count. It's creating mindless zombies.

Re: what is the best anonymous altcoin?
by

Monero and Blackbytes are the most anonymous. Zcash has also great anonymity features, but this huge percentage of mined coins that are given to the creators, as some kind of fee, makes it a bit centralized.
20% tax, wtf? Why it's so high?

Bitcoin has 100% of the votes, and I'm not surprised.

Maybe I'm not well informed, but what innovations does Dogecoin brings besides an infinity supply?

You're asking more than 5x return for a very volatile, unproven asset. And that's a huge amount of money. Why not stay with something with more solid fundamentals, like Bitcoin?

And remember... In a few years we may have Lightning Network, MimbleWimble and more features that can make Bitcoin a very good investment.

Bitcoin doesn't make you more Bitcoin.
Well, it depends of the kind of risk you're willing to take. 60k arks, ATM, it's a lot of Bitcoin. If that's not enough for you, you can do a lot of risky things... Gambling can also make you more Bitcoin, whether it is worth the risk or not, it's up to you to decide.

Re: Are bitcoins only for the educated and knowledgeable people only?
by

For me, it isn't. We have different talent and knowledge on how we give and do stuff that we love. Bitcoins are for everyone and we have the chance to try or even have this to earn and save money for our future.

How about you guys? Is it only for the educated and knowledgeable people only?
It's here for everybody. The point is, if the individual do not educate himself to understand it, he/she would probably not see value on it, and would dump it in the middle of the way. Knowledge is necessary to be a good investor, and hodler.

I wouldn't call it scam based only on this, but it shows lack of professionalism.

Still not the biggest problem. Lately, I'm a bit skeptical about ICOs, because of the possibility of developers buying coins from themselves. Could someone point out a link that shows there was transparency in this?

Don't you guys think this PoS change is going to be a mess?
Have you read the whitepaper even the economic whitepaper about the pos ethereum? it seems you are not reading it. But the pos will have structured by the way. So, what is mean of the preparation before the pos transition? it gives you the more clue and i sure that will not going to be a mess.
Don't get me wrong... I'm sure it will not be below Dogecoin like most PoS coins, but still skeptical about it. There is a reason why most successful cryptocurrencies don't use this consensus algorithm.

by

Bitcoin phenomenon is predicted to be more massive in the future. In fact, the digital currency is mentioned in the middle of a bubble economy or economic bubble.
how do you think?
Well, we have never seen how Bitcoin behaves in the midst of an economic crisis, so there is no indicator. But I think it's a consensus among people who understand Bitcoin and economics the fact that there is nothing better than a decentralized currency as a safe haven when all other assets are in trouble.

Don't learn the hard way.

Just learn what market cap means to avoid headache. It doesn't matter if the coin costs fractions of a penny when there are billions of coins ready to be dumped.
