Bitcoin is the symbol of financial freedom and independence. I love it for its deep semantics for the society.

The word "Bitcoin" has become a synonym of "cryptocurrency". Everybody know Bitcoin because mass media regularly talk about BTC, not about Dogecoin of Ethereum.
Thus the main advantage of BTC as a currency is what it's widely known.

I know no governments which were aimed to maximize the welfare of the public
Regulators' main job is to remain regulators and keep power. Will Bitcoin help them do it? I doubt.

Bitcoin's security highly depends on the miners. Today, Bitcoin mining is controlled by a handful of Chinese pools thus we can not be sure about decentralization of Bitcoin and thus about its security.

My point is that PoW coins are defected by design and should be replaced by more innovative technologies (PoS, dPoS, PoI).
