Stocks are down in a major way lately too. Don't freak out just yet, but be cautious.

Re: Why are some people still skeptical about climate change?

It's just not something a regular person can claim to understand. Nor can we directly experience it's impact.

But they do. Go back through this very thread, you will see dozens of people wailing about how hot it is and that it's climate change, and carbon emissions was obviously the reason....

Oh, wait...that was in the summer....

.....Climate change is too abstract to have an opinion on.

I find that every few years the secular world comes up with an end times prophecy.

Amusing, isn't it?

The concept of something being too abstract to have an opinion on I'm going to have to mull over. Offhand I believe the abstractness INVALIDATES statements of opinion.

Do you have an OPINION on p versus np?

I guess to be a bit more accurate, what I'm getting at it's hard for an intellectually curious person not involved in these fields to have a genuinely strong conviction based on their understanding. I tried looking at the data a couple of times. It's so heterogeneous that you'd need to know a lot about the technical details of measurement techniques to even start evaluating it. And many of these things you can't easily look up, and without significant resources you won't get around to play with. I'm sure many of us have an opinion or a gut feeling one way or another and that's fine.

With something like P/NP, at least the "insiders" have less of an edge which is mostly access to other smart people thinking about it I guess?

It's just not something a regular person can claim to understand. Nor can we directly experience it's impact. I don't know much about gravity but I sure know it's working every single day. I don't know much about medicine but I know enough people helped by it. Climate change is too abstract to have an opinion on.

I find that every few years the secular world comes up with an end times prophecy. Nowadays climate change gave way to Artificial Intelligence taking over the world and stealing all our jobs. I give it as much credence as I do to people on the right freaking out over trans people signifying the end of the West. 10% truth, 90% BS.

I'm pretty decent at writing tech-related copy. I'm mostly a developer but usually work on my own projects so that's something I've done a lot. I work best when there's notes or outlines available. I'll focus on making sure your tech story makes sense and is communicated clearly. But you'll probably need an actual professional copywriter for the final tweaks.

I don't have telegram, please message me here if interested.

Your funds seems to end up on this address     16S5ixVGo3AuD4SvkgLHWfSbEz1rFFr36P (The BTC part)

#1. File a police report
#2. Send e-mail to the biggest exchanges to blacklist that address together with your police report and ID that helps, they need to verify you
#3. Keep an eye on 16S5ixVGo3AuD4SvkgLHWfSbEz1rFFr36P in case it moves, most probably to an exchange, if you have a full node on your local system add notifications in case the balance change moves.
#4. try to remember any biteclicks or e-mails you have opened from unknown people.
#5. Do a quick search on your computer if you have any keylogger och clipboard sniffer installed
#6. change all your passwords
#7. repeat number 3

/KX

This 100%. Do this if you haven't. This is theft and BTC isn't trivial to cash out. If they aren't a professional you're odds aren't all that bad to get something back.

Re: Was Satoshi's coding ability considered bad?

Looking at the code I think it's likely Satoshi wasn't a salaried developer. What people in the tech industry call good programmers usually has more to do with team play than sheer technical ability. It's hard to work with somebody else's mess. There's this breed of developers who will take pride at using the latest technologies, having 100% test coverage, elaborate CI setups but completely disregard the actual purpose of the software.

When you're a lone wolf it doesn't really matter.

Of course he and the media are messing around with people. That's what they do, that's what gets the views. And for whatever reason when you read about notorious/famous people, lying about or concealing the date of birth comes up quite often. I wouldn't complain if I got rid of few years off mine but then again I wouldn't tell anybody.

And if one wants to fight communism I don't think going after some random jokers is the way to go

Very sorry for your loss. Can't imagine how hard it must be. Please try to keep it positive and don't hesitate to ask for help. Everybody would feel terrible in such a situation so don't feel bad about your feelings. Praying for you.
