I am sure Shinichi Mochizuki is not Satoshi because someone with such horrendous design sense could not possibly have created bitcoin

Re: A $15m computer that uses "quantum physics" effects to boost its speed

This blog post by Scott Aaronson makes a convincing argument that the claims for the D-Wave are almost entirely media hype. It is not even faster than a classical computer at solving the one problem it was designed to solve.
For the LTC miners, are you going solo or in a pool?
Pool - ltcmine.ru is pretty good.

Do you feel its more profitable to mine LTC at this point?
There is a convenient mining calculator at http://dustcoin.com/mining that compares the profitability of BTC and the major alt currencies using cost of power, hash rates, current difficulty levels and exchange rates. LTC and BTC seem pretty close right now for the Gigabyte 7870.
I am seeing about 410kH/s with the same card. Flags are: --scrypt --thread-concurrency 14208 --intensity 18 All other parameters use default values. The system is running Fedora 18 with 4GB memory. cgminer 2.11.4
Tried these settings with litecoins, and besides having to tweak the thread concurrency down to 8000 to get cgminer to start, I'm getting right around 400 on each card! Thanks!
After sending that reply I updated to cgminer 3.1 and also found it necessary reduce thread concurrency to run. I couldn't find suitable values to get back to 410kH/s, so for now have reverted to 2.11.4.

Any ideas how to increase my hash rate mining BTCs?
Thanks again for the input so far!
Glad to be of help. Sorry, it has been a while and I no longer have the settings I used for bitcoin. I think I was getting around 440MH/s with very minimal tweaking.
400 each is what I thought... But for some reason I can't get mine to run over 305/310... I'm using cgminer 3.1 on xubuntu... The actual cards are Gigabyte HD7870 1100 Overclock 2GB RAM... I've tried messing around a bit with the parameters, but not getting very far. The cards run faster doing litecoins... About 350KH/s.

Re: [ANN] X-BT.COM, a new marketplace for trading bitcoins with altcoins
The certificate has indeed been signed by StartCom (ordered at https://startssl.com/ and signed by their Class 1 Intermediate certificate).
I'm not sure why you get these warnings. Anyway i plan to purchase a more recognized certificate in the near future.
StartCom CA is in the OS X system keychain (latest release of OS X). Chrome is not at fault because Safari has the same error. Works fine on iOS and Linux though. Curious.
Indeed, I made some adjustments to the certificate bundle appended to the server one. Do you mind checking again ?
It is working fine now.

Nice to have another exchange, but it doesn't fill one with confidence in your security measures to see something so basic as SSL isn't enabled by default, and if it is forced then the layout on the registration page breaks.

I am unable to set my email address. There error message is "The form is not filled correctly." Could it be because you are not allowing addresses with a "+" character in the user name?

after we finished processing the next block, it looks to have paid everything it should have. please check for me.
nobody said we wouldnt have a few bumps, thats why this is "beta"
Seems ok now, thanks. The amount paid was less than half the amount estimated for the round, which makes me wonder if it was calculated correctly. It is still within normal range for my hash rate in a larger pool though, so I'm not complaining.
