Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZENCASH: Permanent, Distributed, and Fully Anonymous cryptocurrency

I want to buy a laptop, based on ubuntu, mainly to be a ZEN VPS (but also used for travel, like watch movies and stuff like that)

What will be enough for it ? I don't want overpay for nothing... i3, i5 ? 2mb, 4mb ? etc etc.
Like, a lenovo thinkpad T400 can be way enough i guess ?

Thanks.

Travel will lower its availability. I think most people would say that this node isnt as good as others, that are 100% available and payouts would be less. Just my 2 cents. Get a dedicated server maybe. My i7 3770, 3TB, 16GB is 30€/month

Hoskinson talked of the cryptocurrency bubble to which he hopes will wipe out the scam coins; interesting that he’s a big supporter of Zencash.

Governments don't support anonymous currency. Zencash is or tries to be anonymous. Think about it.

42, yes. But the secure nodes are not even close to be implemented, yet. The picture above isn't true. I'd expect the secure nodes to be live in Q4 2017 in my own personal opinion.

Ok, I was wrong, about 1%, so what? 12% is still a lot of when people don't want to give 1-2.5% for dev fee for miners or 1% for mining pool.
And as we count we see = 100% mining - 12% dev coin/nodes/dao - 2-2.5% dev fee miner - 1% pool = 84.5-85% of your mined coins.
And then taxes after sale the currency, so when we can only have about 70-72% of our mined coins... Everybody wants to be in the middle of our (miners) coins. 3.5% there, 5% out there, but miners mainly give you the strength of your network, I feel like taxation, so I will always choose the solution without taxation, or without fees. Just give me the address for donation - I will donate for your work, and not that you will have my earned coins. Zen is nothing more than another reincarnation of ZCash, just a little more powdered to look more 'open', with lower fees than ZCash. Nodes will always be in some part of centralized - it's not an obvious central solution, but it's similar to check pointing - it's based on more centralized solution.

Mining will die with more and more POS chains popping and chains mitigating to it. Then nodes are the backbone of the network, which makes the network stable and fast, so its logical.

Actually there is no need for a minimum for a node. Its only to push the coin. And 1000 is the goal, not a limit. It will just decrease profit if more than 1000 nodes are online.

Btw, afaik there are 4 coins who offer rewards for nodes: Dash, PIVX, Crown and Excl.

I agree. You can really get a good read of someone's character by how they respond to a crisis. This dev team responded very well, and they seem very committed.

What dev team?Huh There has been no coding since Joshua Yabut left..........

anybody can tell me how much node running right now?
I want to build one if  not that much

42 for hosting a secure node, same is it's been since release.

This isnt official. One could say 1000 ZEN. Just randint(0,1000);

Look at whitepaper

Kk, found it thanks. Its a bit hidden. But most required features arent in the code now anyway.

I think its sarcasm. There is no dev left on zencash. ZCL has a kiddie dev, who keeps changing his mind every now and then, which is obviously bad for long term plans (and development). And btw, the blockchain rewards are not implemented afaik

Where is clarification on this posted? What additional requirements?

Nowhere. You can't even run a secure node, because its not in the current code. I think its called marketing.

Hi
https://zenmine.pro
There was an attack on the pool
Now everything is normal, the vulnerability was closed.
On your page it says that servers are DDOS protected. How can they go down then?  Huh

There is no real ddos protection nowadays. Botnet bandwidth is too high. Even prolexic kicked krebs out. Also layer 7 ddos appliances for bitcoin do not exist to my knowledge. And further: updates, hardware failure etc can be a cause of downtime.

Btw, did anyone receive ZEN from bittrex successfully? I tried sending ZEN to my wallet and it returned "The address you submitted is not valid for the ZEN network. Cancel this withdrawal and resubmit it."

You can modify bitcoin source to observe the network. Its C++. Basicly profit will drop quickly until the point where it is unprofitable. For me the server is free and I believe some others may have spare servers. Time will tell.
