Would that be an update to this coin, or would it make it a completely new coin? Is there a point in mining this still?
you decide
but there are too many problems with this.

There's a lot of misunderstandings about the word hardfork and to clarify, in this situation, it means that we will require a software upgrade in order to introduce new features. No coins will be lost and your experience with Alloy will improve. You will have plenty of notice on when and how to upgrade.

Any safe public daemon available? Too many blockchains on my HD already .....

Yes, the plan is to add this functionality to allow for a lite client experience. Stay tuned.

Is there a specific reason why you went for the three second block time or was that an arbitrary choice?

Assuming you mean three minutes. We wanted to ensure the network had enough time to mine, submit and verify blocks while ensuring all transactions are send and received in a very fast order...

I get that but Monero is functioning pretty well with two minutes block time. I was wondering whether you had a particular reason to change that.

No reason in particular, except to ensure the blockchain has enough time (mostly due to past latency issues with other cryptocurrencies...).

On the old wallet is there a command to change or remove the password?

Also, the old daemon cannot connect any more. I was sure my balance was over 220 XAO. Now when I run the wallet without the daemon getting any peers it only shows a balance of 80 coins. Is there a website where I can check the balance of an address on the old chain?

@alloyd - Please answer these two questions.

The old blockchain has been shutdown, we've just relaunched the new blockchain. You can get a complete refund for all funds within your old wallet by posting your wallet on our refund page here, https://walletxfer.alloyexplorer.com/.

OK i dont get it , i asked a simple question about the health of this project and my post was removed ?
so why would a moderator do that ?
should i now get worried and stop mining this coin ?
friend of mine told me the coin project might be abandoned so i asked a simple question, that did not need
to be removed, its like turning off free speech.

Hello all, due to unfortunate bug within the source code which was originally forked from Bytecoin, we are forced to relaunch the blockchain. Airdrops and refunds for those who already completed trades will be given out. All issues regarding the blockchain will be solved. The release will take place 1/20/18, we're very sorry for this incident and it will not happen again. We hope that you all will understand, we are working hard to get everything resolved and provide a reliable blockchain to the public. Thanks, again.

Alloy's maximum block size limit has been increased to allow for faster transactions through the network more efficently. Fee value is now properly calculated. Please update your daemon to version "1.0.5", sorry for the inconvenience.

Can someone give more details on the block reward and future changes on the block reward and difficulty?
Thanks

Alloy's block reward algorithm:

Code:
(MaximumSupply - AlreadyGeneratedCoins) >> EmissionCurveFactor

In other words,

0 generated: 80 XOA
21,000,000 generated: 60 XOA
42,000,000 generated: 40 XOA
63,000,000 generated: 20 XOA
84,000,000 generated: 0 XOA

and so on...

All blocks found are rewarded with transaction fees included...

Developer, all the same, please answer the questions. What is the fundamental difference between your currency? How is it better? What are you going to attract users?

Alloy is a fork of Bytecoin aimed at optimizations, custom block reward, limited supply, and the ease to use for new users. Alloy is still in it's very early stages and we are continuing to improve it's codebase.

Hello,

I know you all have questions regarding exchanges, we are still waiting to hear from a few of the exchanges we've applied Alloy to. The estimated wait time for each exchange is somewhere between 1 - 2 weeks, we're doing all we can to ensure the coin launches on a solid exchange soon. If you have any questions please feel free to send us a direct message likewise, questions regarding the source code; post an issue on our github page at https://github.com/alloy-project/alloy.

thanks pool http://xao.miningpool.host/ has paid me
i check my wallet and show this

balance
available balance: 228.950100000000, locked amount: 228.910100000000

is right ?

Every 60 blocks from the transaction block, coins are released to the owner.

Hi! How long I have to wait for pending ballance in pool become not 0? 60 blocks too?

Thats up to the pool itself, there are delays with the pool software. It can also be due to decreased performance with the actual machine hosting the pool software.
