Please don't zero out any Kiwicoin balances yet - there's a problem with the wallet not synchronising that makes it impossible to withdraw at the moment.

By all means use BCT for the interaction, but please announce when significant updates are being made on the site too - I had no idea DRM was scheduled for de-listing until I happened upon this thread by chance a couple of days ago.

what the fuck did you guys do to the market??? I wanted to dump on 1000 satoshi, look what you did!

Yup, I'll bet you did!  With 3% premine that would make you 24,000 BTC. or $10.9M at today's prices.

Twat - oh, you were joking...

I got mine back
by

I only ever put in 0.06 BTC, not much at all, but last night I sent them this support ticket:

Quote
Subject: Get your act together!

I'm still waiting for correct depositing of the 0.06 that I deposited that only showed up as 0.05, and this all *after* the alleged breach due to the OpenSSL HeartBleed bug.

I want out.

Now.

Please return my 0.06 to 1JzS8Cg35MsRiZLyyXK3JKR5rQU5vKC6Rt immediately.

And do cut the bull crap about too many support messages. You're not fooling anybody.

and this morning, it did indeed arrive back, and my account is showing 0 BTC.  There's an empty reply to my ticket, but nothing else.

If anyone would like to try and follow the money, the incoming TXID was 9e0c01a097837c00359007e7ec056ada16ee45c1dccfc1bd08673d0dcd50f41f

The evidence posted on this thread shows nothing other than a dns problem followed by some server issues. It does not show a scam, or negligence, or incompetence. There is absolutely no way you can tell, unless you get on that server and poke around from the inside.

Whilst this server might just be port forwarding / proxying to a bunch of internal (secured) servers, the presence of an open rpcinfo port (port 111) absolutely indicates negligence and incompetence on the part of the server administrator.  There is zero reason for this port to be open on a public facing server.  This very strongly suggests that this server is not a proxy, but is directly running all of these services.

FWIW, the server response string of "OpenSSL/1.0.1e-fips" does not necessarily indicate a HeartBleed vulnerable version of OpenSSL.  Some Linux distributions (especially RedHat and derivatives) ship with particular version numbers for packages, but back-port essential patches without bumping the version number.

Re: [ANN][Sloth] Slothcoin - SHA3 - Download the new 1.2 wallet!

My 5x R9 280x rig gives 3.5Mhs at 1.5kW (scrypt), 1.6Mhs at 1200W (SHA3) and 100Mhs at 950W (Hefty1). Daily profitability from above are related to theese speeds. Price of 1kWh here is $0.22, so daily "profit" is around $1..

With 80Mhs You can mine roughly 23k SLOTHs in an hour at current diff.

Hmm, I've only mined about 37k at nicemining since my earlier post, and almost none of those are confirmed.  Perhaps their wallet needs updating?

I'm surprised your hashrate is that high for Keccak - I had been lead to believe that for SHA3 there wasn't that much difference between AMD and NVidia cards, but you're getting 5x the hashrate per card that I am, for 25x in total.  Does 80 MH/s sound about right for a 2GB GTX 760?

Mining sucks theese days, it can barely cover electricity bills. So far it was good, since I used it to heat up house, but with incoming summer I´ll probably turn it of and resel. (profitable) GPU mining is probably over  Undecided

I'd still be interested to hear your actual costs and hashrates.  I'm mystified how your 5x R280x rig which I reckon probably gives ~10x the SHA3 hashrate of my single GTX 760 is generating something like 160x the return of my rig, which last time I tried mining SLOTH was running about 80 MH/s and only generating about 50k - 100k SLOTH per day.

Although You may not want to hear this, its actually good price with current difficulty. Here are some rough numbers for my RIG of 5* R9 280x:

SlothCoin SHA3 - 16,759,500 SLOTH * 0.00000004 LTC * 0.0244 BTC -> 0,0163 BTC / day
HeavyCoin HEFTY1 - 295 HVC * 0.0000391 BTC -> 0.0115 BTC / day
Litecoin Scrypt - 0.62 LTC * 0.0244 BTC -> 0.0151 BTC / day (but also twice power consumption / heat)

What's your operating cost for that rig, and your hashrates?  I'm only running a single GTX 760 but I haven't found any coin that even covers my running costs, let along the capital cost of kit (which in my case was free as this is my gaming system, not a dedicated rig).

IMHO having SLOTH selling for litoshi instead of satoshi just makes the problem worse.

I've made more from arbitrage of altcoins between different exchanges than I have from actual mining.

p.s. Keccak running at half the power isn't a good thing, it just means that the code isn't utilising the GPU as well as it could be.

Are you on cryptopool.eu? If so, you are looking at the pool hashrate. He is referring to the network hashrate, which shows 0.00 Gh/s.

Ah, OK.  So it's not zero, it's a rounding error  Wink

I hope this coin doesn't die - I've minted just shy of 500k coins, having rented some capacity last night to take advantage of the two bonus blocks that came up.

390k here, hoping some day they'll be worth (a lot) more than 1 sat each!

And its over... Hashrate drops to 0.

Should we mark this coin as dead?

Where do you see zero?  It's at 60 MH/s at the moment!

That's good news! Thanks! Of course, my pitiful ~7 - 10Kh/s isn't likely to get a very large chunk of that reward anyway. But who knows!

I managed those two blocks on a GTX 760 running about 280 kH/s.

Something's up, though - we're now on block 4520 and cryptopool doesn't appear to have found any blocks since 4501.  The overall hash rate is much the same as it was before.  Weird.

EDIT ah, never mind, it looks like the stats were running slow for some reason.  All appears well now.

Exciting times ahead!! Block 5000 is on the horizon with its 1,000,000 Kilr reward!! I'm mining on cryptopool.eu, and, not to sound greedy or anything, but I hope we get that one!

Well, unless a really high rate solo miner comes along, chances are cryptopool.eu will get that block - it's managed to get ~70% of the recent blocks.

I've been playing with solo mining for the last few hours and scored a couple of blocks, but it's bed time now and I figure I might as well take my chance in the pool for a small share than leave my little rig mining with a miniscule chance at the big blocks.

Any coins worth mining with this gear?
by
alnitak
on 21/03/2014, 19:54:29 UTC
I've got a Win7 x64 i7 4770K gaming rig with a GTX 760, and an iMac 2012 (3.4 GHz i7) desktop that came with a GTX 680 MX.

I've been playing with one of the newer SHA3 (Keccak) Altcoins using the CPU from the iMac and the GPU from the Win7 box, but the coin I'm trying seems to be dominated by people with 100x - 500x the mining rate I can muster.

Is there any coin out there that's actually worth mining with this setup, i.e. generating more than say US$3 per day?  I'm capable of running up EC2 instances to scale up if needed, so long as they pay their way.

Thanks!
