Is anyone else having sync issues?

I downloaded the new 1.0.4 wallet and tried to sync from fresh.

I get to block 10 000 and then it just stays there.

I'm getting a lot of these warnings/errors in my log.

ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: read txPrev failed
WARNING: ProcessBlock(): check proof-of-stake failed for block 3885c0a20f393c935affab1b31e4d5224d2fdbc09d436f19f9f83176c010bdc0
received block 420a3ccffef3c2d24aa7

yes same thing with me too!!!!!
I closed the wallet and opened again it synced to 10500 and stuck then I closed and open again synced to 11000 then stuck again then closed and open 4th time it has synced all the way to end.

just try it a few times. I only have a mac wallet but it seems to be the same.

Then it works without complaints  Wink

This worked like you said.

Thanks

Thank you for reminding me guys, I have it on my to-do list, to look in to this issue. While closing and opening the wallet does fix this, it's not an acceptable solution to have to do this.  This issues was present in the wallet  before 1.0.4, and will be fixed ASAP

The contest isn't necessarily linked to the MN, it can run as a standalone and was originally intended to be so. Contest attracts more publicity for the MN and OC, so it only made sense to marry the two ideas. You'll see how it comes together in its entirety.

Votes increased by ~30% and that is great news! If you were looking for an update, sorry to burst your bubble, haha.

Maybe we should wait for the wallet fix where it gets stuck before we launch any kind of contest.  This way anyone new the coin can get started without seeing a broken wallet.

Dev has sold 8 BTC worth of SC, has told us the devs have quit, there is a major bug/security hole, and has lied to directly to the community (posted that a new wallet will be released 2 days ago, when the devs quit 3 days ago).

A lot of you should be angry and are rightly so.

Honestly, I just find it funny, how OC manages to make the people wait two weeks and just releases without saying much, and then prices goes down.
Is this the new national sport ?
Could there be any information on what are going to be the next steps, is Jim Rambler finished, what are the plans with MN ?
A bit of communication please !

This is not an official announcement, just me talking.
I think ppl were expecting MN in this 1.0.4 release and sold when they saw it wasn't there. I don't know for sure, I am assuming this: Testnet is a step in the verification that the MN and PoS will work correctly as planned.
Thank you Halofire, nice to have a bit of information. This also what I was kind of guessing.
I am just getting sometimes annoyed from the fact that we don't get any precise info.
Those communication tricks are just not appropriated. Would rather hear from OC: " Everything will happen as I want and when I want. For you all, it is then a surprise!" Then, it is clear...
I have the feeling that communicating is not important to OC. I just would like a bit more visibility on what is happening, it is simply healthy for the community to have more information.

The devs made it pretty clear what was coming in 1.0.4.

So many coins out there try to push out features so fast trying to keep the pump going, but building a solid product and delivering that product is what will make OC succeed.

I suggest we move on to what OC has in store once the MN's are out.  This way we have something to look forward to once these MN's are out.

$200... what the fuck is this? University poker night?

Hahaha you've been arguing with a kid.

Anyway, as long as the devs keep delivering on what they promise the coin will do well.  The coin is very young even in the crypto world and we're about to get two nice features by next week.

We have a roadmap so we know what else is coming and as long as the devs keep at it we'll be fine.

Mintpal and Cryptsy have allowed voting for the coin, so all that FUD about bad code is no longer valid since these exchanges are now willing to add Cloak to their exchange.

The Iconic FUD is bogus, he's just some investor, no one can control who buys what coin.

Anyway, there's low downside but there's huge upside to this coin.

Good luck everyone!

One of the problems with flutter and I even tweeted about it back in march https://twitter.com/CryptoPioneer/status/447358295670816768 you can't determine it's coin cap. So how can you put a price on it??? Very diffilcult when max coins can be between 500 million and 5 billion (something like that).

Libertycoin doesn't have that problem. We know exactly the coin cap and the 1% inflation per year is extremely modest; inflation won't be the thing deflating XLB value.

Fluttercoin also suffers from minimum 60% inflation per annum.  That's not including compounding interest.  I messaged their dev to tell him this and he just flat out ignores you or calls you stupid.

I personally recieved 7% PoS for holding my coins for 30 days.

Fluttercoin is out there as well.  It's pretty much bottomed out right now, so there is low risk in investing, a couple of BTC should be fine.  An active and knowledgable dev team, and introduces Proof of Transaction (PoT).

There's a chance with every transaction to be rewarded with free PoT.  Think of it as PoS but with spending.  It still also has PoW and PoS to strengthen the blockchain and secure the network.

If you're looking to invest you should diversify anyway and a couple of BTC in FLT wouldn't hurt.

You can check them out at fluttercoin.us

Hello again hostmaster. Done as you instructed to however still no stake provided on wallet so I have no idea what is going on with stake as its always left on closed down for updates of wallet and left on and never turned off. Yet still no stake so I dont get what is going on.
It looks your pc unlucky to mint it happens sometimes, all you need to 1) open & close it one more time 2) keep it open on maybe 2 different pc instead of 1.

No worry you will see big chunk of stake, nothing will be lost.

Did you use "coin control" to check how old your coins?

Have done all the following and even removed everything in it apart from wallet re installed still no stake n coin for me.

Worked out most of my coins are over 60 days old now for the really old ones and some 50 days and 42 days and counting.

How much mature coins do you have?  The amount of mature coins matter, the more you have better CHANCE you have of staking.  It's not guaranteed to happen, it's almost like a lottery of mature coins and one gets drawn from the hat.

Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT Proof Of Transaction v2 UPDATE to v0.4.5.7 IMMEDIATELY
by
alphaminer21
on 17/05/2014, 00:59:16 UTC
This coin is screaming out for some networking, ideas, further social development. Why you may ask? It's original. That should be it's number one selling point. Maybe hijack some alt coin communities that aint doing so good, quark/digitalcoin for example. Great communities - clone coins with a few adjustments at the source. Seriously, there is a good opportunity here with FLT. The POT is it's greatest selling point, and you hardly hear a thing about it.

The community needs to step up to get the word our on Pot.  That means you, me and everyone reading this message.  Let people know that there's a coin out there that rewards the spenders as a means to secure the network.  Now the biggest knock against this is that it will cause inflation, the inflation isn't all that much.

With all these scam coins out there failing, people should be comforted that FLT uses PoT, PoW and PoS to secure the blockchain.

This coin is innovative and is seriously devalued.  It's sitting at $550k marketcap.  That's quite undervalued for what this coin brings to the table.

We have active developers that are active and know what they're doing.  They aren't the regular copy paste, I can't fix that since I don't know how to code kind either.

We have a multipool up and a main website waiting on a facelift waiting for some web developers.  V2 is coming out this weekend which improves the use of PoT.

There's only so much the devs can do, the community needs to step up and spread the word this coin exists.

For those of you sitting on the fence on this coin but are reading this, speak up and let us know what your questions or concerns are.

Cheers everyone!

Wood wallet, fashion week, fluttercoin forums, X11 support from the multipool on its way.

Lets get the word out wherever and whenever we can.  Let  people know that we are still around and working hard for this coin!

I have 8-10btc invested in fluttercoin. I don't see a scam and I don't see problems with pumps and dumps crashing the coin. I've spoken with a couple of dumpers and they lost faith in the community and dev's attitude. I think the dev has done a great job with building the coin, but he is only one person and can't be expected to run all aspects of the coin. As long as he displays a positive attitude about the coin, we should pick up the slack and come up with a marketing plan. Investors had high hopes for the multipool, halving, and merchant adoption. When it became apparent that the community had no PR/Marketing team and the multipool didn't work, they jumped ship to either reenter when this is fixed and prices are lower, or to just cut losses and move on with a better investment.

I'm down way too much to sell out and it would crush the coin. Hopefully, there is no inherent flaw with the coin and it's not a scam (which I have no indication that it is). If the price gets low enough and stabilizes, people might come back to take advantage of bargain prices.

We, as a community, need to stay positive. Investors don't like a community that shows fear and loses faith. The multipool will help buying pressure and  the halving will reduce selling pressure. If we can manage to get a vibrant community in reddit and in the official thread, then we could move back up to the 1000' quickly. What I don't want to see is people dumping when we get back to the 1000's after weathering such a tough situation. Stay strong and don't sell when we come back as the momentum will be moving up due to faith garnered within the crypto community.

Shortly after the dump the irc channel became active for a little.  I could post a pastebin if anyone is interested but it's quite long.  The TL;DR is for the people in charge of irc, forums, twitter, reddit, and facebook to get together and assign a community manager who can organize all these communication outlets and keep everyone updated.

So someone in charge right now has to get that organized.  Kidd is pretty busy with the PoT update but it seems like he's in charge for now.  If he can assign someone to do it and get the right people in touch so we can get this coin under control.

Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT Rewards For Spending
by
alphaminer21
on 05/05/2014, 14:08:32 UTC
Proof Of Transaction v2 specs released.  New Binaries to be released tomorrow:

http://www.fluttercoin.us/fltbeta2/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/proof-of-transaction-v2-r.pdf

Can't believe after almost 2 pages of arguing no one has mentioned this.

From .5% chance of a block creating PoT reward to 80%. That is a huge change. Have none of you seen this?

- 8x the output of flutter in rewards from PoT
- added security due to more PoT checkpoints
- 20 FLT set reward rather than half the block reward
- reduced required transaction amount from 500 FLT to 1

Previously the reward would have ended up minuscule, while now it is a set rate and has a much better chance of happening. You're all so caught up in everything that has  little relation to the coin itself.

I have read the updated paper and you are right, it does look like good news.  But as far as I understand the current state of affairs the paper is a proposal, not a final spec.  Not aware of the timeline to transition to this, if there is one yet.

But it is good to see some progress toward making PoT more enticing and a more equal partner in the ecosystem, alongside PoS.

It's final... Building binaries now and will release them and the code today.  As of now, will take effect at block 55K (that may go up to 56k though)

I'm guessing things took longer then expected?  That's cool, the changes won't be effective immediately anyway.  I'd rather you take your time and make sure everything is right rather than a sloppy job you have to patch in a month.  A lot of changes were made in the upcoming changes.  I could wait a couple more days if there are more tests you need to perform.

Keep us updated.

Cheers

Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT v2 Specs Released
by

on 05/05/2014, 14:01:34 UTC

Nice to see a small rally... Lets spark some interest in the coin.  Maybe lets flame eachother and people can talk about it on twitter, check out the thread and invest LOL

TheKidCoin you said you have a job.  You are devoted to the coin but cannot devote 100% of your time to it.  These people turn to you for everything and I can see in some of your responses they get to you.  At least it seems that way.  I propose that we help you.  I'm not sure if these ideas have been proposed because I haven't been able to follow the thread all the time so I will post my thoughts.

Instead of a divided community we need to unite.  Let's build more authority for Flutter.  Let's build a Flutter Foundation.  Open and transparent.  The foundation can serve as a base to build up Fluttercoin.  Let the foundation work on brand management, advertising, growth, etc.  Open a public account for donations used for these advancements.  We can hold votes for member seats, seat buy-ins (buy-ins used for advancements), or TheKidCoin can appoint members.  Maybe let the community vote on how to get started.  We need to take the discussion to a Flutter Forum where proper discussions can be made and get away from all this other BS.

The community has http://www.fluttercoinbounty.com/ but it's not on the front page.  I think people have forgotten about it.  They are too worried about price and not worried enough about growing the community.  This should be incorporated into the foundation.

Lets get updates on the multipool.  This should be tied into the foundation.

This coin and community has so much potential.  I've invested nearly 4 btc over the last 2 weeks.  I know that's not much in the scheme of things but I see the potential.  I'm not looking for a 2x-3x return tomorrow.  I want a the long term return and this is something I stand by.  I tell other memebers in the Polo trollbox the same thing.  Yes I am the same Kuriso that is on Polo.  I'm so tired of these scamming shitcoins that are here today and gone tomorrow.  Coins that only steal bitcoins from the unsuspecting community.  Make Fluttercoin be different.  Let's take this coin to the next stage.

Too many people followed those scam coins trying to make a quick buck, while FLT which has all the pieces in place to become great got ignored.  I ended up reading the thread after the scam for asiacoin was exposed, a saw a couple of names that were FLT supporters over there pretty upset.  I don't think we'll be seeing them here anymore with that money.

Fluttercoinpool started supporting Sha-256 and I think it got a line in some post somewhere.

I just hope we've hit a low and can start moving up.  Only time will tell!

Fluttercoin looks like an angel compared to the scam coins this week.  Those coins a pretty much worth nothing right now, unfortunately all those investors are broke and we probably won't be seeing that money flow back into FLT  Cry

Having said that, the reward structure change is a good thing.  It shows me that the developer is willing to make the neccessary changes to make this coin succesful.  There's only so much the dev can do, the rest is up to the community.

Everyone seems to panic whenever we have a big holder sell their coins.  All these people buy into FLT expecting to make money when the price raises and then sell when the price doesn't go up.  This is causing a constant selling of the coin, and until we reach the bottom the coin can't go back up.  As to where the bottom is, no one knows...

So here are the things we can look forward to:

  • We have a reward structure change which makes PoT a factor of the coin.  Any investor that left based on this will be paying attention to this.
  • We have 2 active developers which are available to changes and fixes to the coin and have been honest with us since the beginning.  This brings good confidence in a coin during a time when people are getting burnt all over the place
  • We have a multipool which should bring an upward pressure once it gets released.  The last update has been 2 days ago though, hopefully we hear something new soon.
  • We're getting a facelift on the main website and the pool, which I believe are being paid for by the devs
  • Rewards have halved and the miners that are here to dump will have a smaller influence on the coin price

These are all nice to have but the community needs to step up and do something about it.  We're getting a reward structure change and there is no buzz about it anywhere.  We need to get the word out so people get interested in this coin again.

Once the selling stops, and an uptrend gets established I think it'll be tough to stop this coin from reaching what I believe is it's true value.

Once of the best things that blackcoin did was have a blog/news section on their website.  It was a great place to keep updated with what was going on with fluttercoin.  Can we get something like that for fluttercoin?  It should be real easy for people to find out what is going on with the coin without having to scour the forums/twitter.
