What's the reason for the increase in orphans recently? Since 15 of May 2018 the orphans have spiked up? Can someone explain this?

I've also notice that the since 15 of May the difficulty has also gone up along with this orphans rise... again, can the dev team explain something about this event?

I don't think it's a coincidence and they are related somehow...

----------- Follow up -----------
----------------------------------

As it is now: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bean/orphans.dws

Updating my follow up on this "event" where the number of orphans had risen a lot. At the time of my post here I took some screenshots where it shows the numbers of orphans rising.
Now we notice that the number of orphans has been decreasing but not the difficulty, actually the difficulty is even higher than before... so the theory that the orphans could be related to the increase in difficulty loses credibility because difficulty has been higher or in the same level as before.

Since we didn't get any reply from the dev team related to this issue, no one really knows what's going on with that increase in orphans... where they test with the upcoming wallet that caused all those orphans? what has happen there? was the network attacked? has been exploited somehow?

Im not sure its just me or someone else have the same problem also...
Sprouting 800.000 beans , my rig is online 24/7 , my connection to the network is over 30 all the time, sometimes 65,sometimes 35.
Last time i received sprouts it was 2/27/2018 , now im close to 50% result what the  online bean cash calculator estimated.
I never believed any online coin calculator in the past, those calculator are just a rough estimate... but none of those calculatros are 50% off ...

i have sprouted more than 16 times since 27, however i'm sprouting with 1.8m

seems like you just had bad luck

I did not know srpouting bean cash is based on luck

There are a lot of factors that come into play when sprouting beans. The network weight/difficulty comes into play as the more weight in the network the harder it is to sprout, I noticed that when the price starts to go up and more people transfer their coins to the exchanges, the network weight goes down and that is when I sprout the most. I have around the same amount of beans as you and I have been sprouting at least every second day. Do you have your beans in smaller block sizes? Most of mine are in blocks of 20k.

Yesterday I did a quick survey on twitter just to have a quick feedback about the expected amount of beans from sprouting. The link to the tweet is: https://twitter.com/BitbSproutCalc/status/970532000653332480

Tweet: "Time for some feedback guys! I would like to know what you guys think about the http://sproutingcalculator.com . Has the expected sprouting been right according to the beans you have been sprouting?Have you sprout more or less than expected?"

got so far 4 replies:

- "I have sprout more"
- "same here i am sprouting alot"
- "8.4% sprouting for me"
- "It's bean more then expected."

I don't mind if expected bean after a month is HIGHER than expected.

Note: I have tried to have all the BEANS sprouting in one address and in different addresses, and my conclusion is that regarding staking it looks like it does not matter if you have all in one address or in more than one. Currently, I have them slip in 5 addresses. On one of those addresses, the beans aren't "mine", they are sprouting on behalf of a friend, and even that address complies with the expected monthly sprout!

So if you aren't getting the expected sprouts remember, that to reach the expected amount of sprouts for that month you have to have the wallet OPEN and in SYNC 24/7, and then there's the "luck" factor but from my experience, it won't differ that much from the base number that you get from the sproutingcalculator.com

Dev please provide recorded version of recent online conference. Huh Thank you
Is their a recording of the conference I would also like to here it
keep sprouting those bitb!

I'm sure there is a recording of the conference call as they normally record them. I'm hoping they have as I always miss these conference calls because of the timezone difference. Good thing is that the price is holding steady at around 200 sats and hopefully it can stay there ready for the next leg up to its ATH.

Price has surged from the past couple of days and today is the 2nd day that it has dipped. Hopefully, after tomorrow, the price would be stable and there should be another surge in price in the coming days if the price for today and tomorrow sustains.
This is only the start to bigger things to come for the beancash. The whole concept of seems pretty new and interesting and really looking good right now. Beans sprouting at home in a wallet.

You are correct! I've been actually looking into sprouting my beancash but I do not have the right hardware. I want to be able to start sprouting. Do you recommend any hardware specifications that is perfect for sprouting beancash?  Huh

you just need a PC. Its not hard. I built my own PC out of parts that were going to become a mining rig but GPUs became too hard to come buy. its making more satoshis than both of my rigs now.

That's right, no need for high end hardware to sprout BeanCash as even a low end laptop will do the job as sprouting doesn't use much resources at all. I used to sprout on my laptop until I wanted to stake other coins as well so now I use a PC but anyone can sprout BeanCash without a high end computer or hardware.

Indeed! I've sprouted for a long time with the beloved MINIX NEO Z83-4 that can be bought around 170€ ($210) already with windows. It's the cheapest machine "plug&play" that works with more than one wallet without any problem. I highly recommend it because it has a low power consumption and zero noise (no moving parts). Here's the link: http://minix.com.hk/en/products/neo-z83-4

Wow! Thank you gentlemen for your answers!  Cheesy I wonder how many days did you leave your computers running before it sprouted some beancash?

@amesterdamer: whoa. This is interesting! Shocked So do you install the beancash software wallet in this miniPC then?

Yes, I used that "farm" (how I call them) for almost a year. During that time it was staking vericoin and sprouting bitbean.

Recently I needed more from my farm and I've upgraded to an ASUS - BAREBONE Mini PC UN45 with 4gb DD3 and 100gb of storage. This solution will be more expensive around 100€ regarding the minix that I've mentioned, but it's a better solution if you're thinking of having more than 2 wallets on it.

By the way, my old farm is currently staking at my cousin's house, she is only using it for beancash and continues to work flawlessly Wink Yesterday, my other cousin bought this minix and he's also going to start sprouting beancash... next week another cousin will start also! Smiley My closest family all have Beancash because on this christmas my gift was a family airdrop Wink everyone got a bunch of BeanCash on paperwallets... some already are sprouting those beans, others will begin soon and my uncles are simply holding and waiting. Either way all of them now follow the beancash price and have been introduced to crypto / beancash Cheesy

Hey guys! Earn POS Mining rewards while trading at btcpop.co!

https://imgur.com/SCBCuFT

btcpop is using the wrong bitbean logo on their promo/website, and for me that shows lack of knowledge regarding the current present of bitbean... I don't know that service and I'll just say: Always be cautious to where you send you bitbeans!

even worse is their announced payout.... so 34289 bitb will sprout in 30 days 1371 Bitb but they will only pay to user 98 bitb ....

Above is my proposal for the upcoming rebrand of BitBean to Bean Cash (Bean Digital Cash) but first of all, a little briefing about what's above:

On the first row, the logo without a signature;
Second row, the logo with signature. Currently "...more than just a digital currency" but it's not definitive and may be changed later on;
Their row, an alternative logo to be used on special occasion mentioning "Bean Cash" ... just an idea, proposal, proof of concept.

The difference between the left and the right logos is simply the eyes and where they are looking. May look like a tiny think but affect the overall feeling of the character. On the left he's looking forward giving the feeling of movement and being dynamic; on the right, he's looking forward toward the viewer. And this is the first step to build trust, looking in the eyes and feeling an emotional connection to the character.

Personally, I'm more inclined to choose the version that he's looking forward and making that personal connection to the viewer.

Note: the only thing here to pick is one the eyes direction, the brand would have all 3 version to use as needed, sometimes the signature may not be required or the case of a very small logo it will no be legible, so we'll need the version without a signature. On other media that the signature can be used, that version should have priority to the version without a signature.

This is my proposal and I hope the community likes it also.

----

Part II - A little bit more history...

Some may know me from the early days of the takeover, many don't know me at all. Back in the day, I knew that a project had gone bad and part of the small community decided to step forward and help out any way they could in order to make a successful project takeover. I gave what I knew.... the new logo and with it the website, paper-wallets, all the team bean branding and a big bunch of other stuff. I with other initial members started the "core concept" in order to bring some kind of organization to the team and me along the others were the first core members.

I supported the project during that time, then I had personal problems in my life and I just went into a total blackout, not only in the BitBean project but in all the project I was working in, like VeriCoin and AudioCoin / BlockPool... I didn't even use my twitter account for more than a year...

Although I wasn't active, I never lost track on what was going on with Bitbean, I followed from time to time the bitcointalk thread to get the feeling of the community and I was happy to see that it started to grow to the size it is today.

Gladly I manage to put my life back on tracks and since a few months, I've been slowly reconnecting with that teams I've worked. And here I'm (again) on a new kind of start, or a re-start so to say...

As you can read on a few posts back, I announced the release of the "Bitbean Sprouting Calculator" and I reconnected with the community here at bitcointalk and on the official chat... meanwhile days went by...

"And why are you posting this now?" you may ask.

The answer is simple and I'll try to make it brief. A few hours ago I had a clash with the lead developer about the use or not of the 3D version of the "BeanMan" in the future rebrand. I presented to him all my arguments and things lead to the current poll we see above. I felt the responsibility to inform the community and put a little context on this issue, trying to explain what's going on. (*technical and design question may be addressed in further posts regarding why 3D bitmap should never be used in branding)

Currently, I was removed from the Bean Core due to my lack of having the required 1% Bitbean to be in the Bean Core. I had there since my return last week until today when we clashed and I was removed from the "Bean Core" private chat.

Although I'm not an Offical Core member ( I haven't paid 250 000bitb and I don't have 1% of the market) but that does not mean I have to shut up and follow along. I feel the responsibility towards the community and my goal is always lead this project to good port, and not "destroy the project" like bitbeaner said publicly today.

Thanks if you read all of this, mean you care about what's going on behind the scenes. If you have any question regarding the design issues, let me know. And if you haven't voted and you have decided, please cast your vote above by clicking on the small radio button on the left of the image you like.

PS: I'll be around and I won't be going anywhere this time!

Hello everyone!

Yes finally the time has come to pickup your BPL!  You can build your node or download the latest Windows, Mac and Linux wallets by clicking below or going to blockpool.io under menu > download.

Once you have your address please put it in your blockpool.io account, once we have that we will send out your Blockpool tokens.

You can build your node by going to our github page here https://github.com/blockpool-io and clicking BPL-Node and following the directions in the readme file.  We also provided an install script to make things a little easier.

We have a lot in store for everybody, so buckle up!

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

is there a step-by-step on how to get the BPL to the wallet?

"Once you have your address please put it in your blockpool.io account, once we have that we will send out your Blockpool tokens."

I already have the wallet installed but I just cant figure it out how to "put it in your blockpool.io account" step... care to explain in detail, please?

I've just published on steemit the proposals I've made one year ago regarding the playing cards. The artworks, my proposal made at 17.08.2015:

Don't know if you're are still in need of a designer for this project, at the time Marketa said it wasn't technically viable due some blockchain details and the cards...

Either way, here's the link to the post:

After looking more closely at that post my opinion of him is further reduced.

That many people don't want to sign up for services that are are going to grab their personal Facebook, Twitter, etc. contacts and promote shit to them is not news. Someone acting upset that Steemit members don't want to do this to support his idea of how a marketing campaign should work is butthurt, yes. And also trolling, and behaving in a hostile manner which will not get more support for his current and future initiatives.

It is quite clear to me the response rate there has literally zero to do with people not wanting competition for rewards.

Hello Smooth,

I perfectly understand that people may not want to share their facebook for privacy issues (theirs, and their connections). Regarding the number, yes I know 500 supporters is BOLD and a big number, and you'll understand in the next post about thunderclap, it's part of the strategy and there's a failsafe plan if the 500 isn't meet, and probably I'm gonna use money from the upvotes to pay to have more control over the campaign (mainly the control of the time of the campaign), but that will be addressed in the next post about the campaign.

But people haven't understood that nor I or anyone else will have access to the list of friends. The campaign will release only a message that will be seen by your friend / connections.

Regarding being hostile. I'm not hostile and if you're talking about the comment on dollarvillant, I stand on what I said... that 3rd post as a money grab... ok the 1st post I full into in and great welcome, the 2nd post thanking the first one, was a classic move seen many time on steemit to drain a little more profit of the 1st wave. What I really found disturbing was the 3 post in 48h, not to add much more, but to write just some "things" and the drain continues. I'm not against him or anyone else, but look like people are against me because I speak what I think and what I feel (and I know I'm not the only one that has this opinion about what happen).

Finally smooth, I'm not troll, if you care to lose time, you'll be able to find information about me and who I'm and what I've done and the crypto-projects I've been engaged. I'm sorry If you're taking sides even without knowing me or even without having talked directly with me. Maybe if you do, you would understand me better, and maybe you would change your mind and become more supportive of what I'm doing and have done, and WILL do for steemit as a brand. Time will prove me right.

PS: Also regarding vigillante's comment... search about "Guerrilla marketing" and how sometime's one has to take a bullet for the team to reach higher goals. (at the moment I've taken more than 1 bullet and still standing).
