I actually already went through this second KYC process and have been making deposits no problem for months (many tens of thousands at a time).

However, a deposit this week is still in process which is very unusual for me there.   This one is between 18K.   Anyone else seeing delays suddenly that aren't normal?

Re: Mtgox stolen coins for sale?????

100% scam liar.   They would sell for minimum 520-600.  why would they sell for 250 when they would have people chomping at the bit for even 600.

It's a lie, but anyone would would buy these would now have stolen coins pointing straight to their account.  Once gox's data is exposed through court action (will take a long while), anyone who doesn't think its only a matter of time before the coins are traced is being silly.

Send them the cops!! The guy stole for 58 millions dollars ! We are not talking little money here

lol good luck with that

Its actually simple.   Once he tries to get fiat, you investigate and make him prove source of income and fiat to bitcoin trail to support it.   If he can't verify source of income, confiscate the cash.

So, where is this investigation at now?

Do we know the MtGox 'coldwallet' addresses and their BTC balances? i.e. definite blockchain evidence rather than theory.
And we know that Mark Karpelès and his bodyguard mr Pawczyński left Tokyo and are there currend location is City Sendai Japan, and we know that they stay in the Koyo Grand Hotel, close to the main highway.

is there any data showing that Bitstamp and BTC-e are helping investigate the theft of coins from MtGox.   They should be in there helping to find accounts associated with the coins.  It's in their own interest and the bitcoin community to show that it can self-police and help find thieves.
And I'm sure that naturally, you'll be the first in line to contribute to the BTC self-policing fund? Or should it just be them?

I'd be happy to.  The only folks who don't want to see it are people trying to hide money.

You can't stop it and it will happen more and more (exchange cooperation in thefts).

In view of the thefts occurred in gox (if true), poloniex, flexcoin and since bitcoins are traceable. Wouldn't it be good to create a list to trace the movements of stolen coins for, at least, they can not be sold in major exchanges?

It would be better to have the industry standard that all exchanges' wallets are being made public (tagged in blockchain).

When your stolen coins appear on an exchange's tagged address, you would simply notify this exchange that the coins that were stolen from you have just arrived in their wallet. The exchange knows who funded the wallet with your stolen bitcoins and can give the name of the thief to the police for further investogation.

I'm a huge fan of this.

Nice, so blockchain is helping people to wash coins by providing them means to analysis if they washed enough.

Now we know blockchains true intentions.

Bitcoins cannot be stolen.
Private key can obtained from someone's machine but nobody can claim sole ownership of a private key.

Get tracking coins out of your head. It will never happen.

It's guaranteed to happen in cases like this.

You track the coin and then what? You can't prove anything...

Once they exchange for fiat, you have whatever country they are in investigate them for taxes and sources of income.  If they can't prove where the cash to get the bitcoin came from, confiscate the cash.  Rinse and repeat.

Its completely trackable is most cases and should be.  Exchanges should be involved in investigations, tracing addresses and fiat exit points.   this is unquestionable.  If they don't , bitcoin will be stuck.   If the community can show some policing at least in major thefts, it would be a huge boon for the success of bitcoin.  The exchanges should openly participate in theft forensics.  You cna track forward in the chain from thefts and backwards from exchanges where the biggest fiat transactions should be traced backwards and see if the trails connect for suspect accounts/addresses.

Has Bitstamp chimed in yet if it was Mark or Jeb who did the y 10K coin sell last week?

Bitstamp and BTC-E I hope are working with audit experts to ferret out where the coins are.

From blockchain.com html source

"Blockchain.com Bitcoin Wallet Coming Soon"

Seems like maybe an attempt at html5 wallet for ios, and maybe a relaunch of their android wallet to feature sync.  Who knows... maybe Nick spent some time in Cupertino and signed some behind the scenes contract to integrate with apples future cash system and in return be a blessed app in the store.

hmmm.

That isn't news that should move the market?   Positive Gox news would.   We can already use blochain.info website with ios.
