In danger of being de-listed on trex.

We have had quieter days. We also haven't heard anything from Bittrex in the form of a warning. Plenty of other coins (pages) have less trade volume than Sterlingcoin and are still trading.

EDIT: We have just seen the warning on Bittrex. We are not sure if this is automated or not and will be contacting Bittrex today.

We must hit 0.2btc trade per day for the next 7 days, so you know what that means.....buy buy buy!!!!

£38.66 or $57.00 per day at the current BTC price.

I will buy some more if we don't fill this up soon. I will look at the situation tomorrow and move funds from Cryptsy if thats what it takes Smiley
So far I've lost a bit money on SLG but counting it will rise. I was one of those who bought mostly above 0.000045 but we will get there again Smiley I already have about 200 000 SLG or a bit more. Invested pretty much 2500€ so far Smiley (loss about 1300€ atm, but some cause I BTC at 340€/btc).

It will most probably rise when all of the features get fully implemented, then we will have better features than most other altcoins.

We would like the community to come up with some cool name suggestions for a system where you can scan a Bitcoin QR code and pay with Sterlingcoin Cheesy

We are also considering names and any good ones will be shortlisted.

How about BitSLG?  Or BitSterling possibly? Smiley

Or maybe Sterlingbit?

I suggest you look at Sterlingcoin as well, they have a great roadmap and useful features coming + the developers are trustworthy (you can even call them if you want).
Also, you might want to look at GEMZ, but I'd recommend you to wait on that, until they release the iOS app and get everything running without any bugs.

Hi,

I've been reading about SLG and i've got a few questions

1)What is total coinbase= 63,900,000
The total SLG is gonna be 4,000,000 SLG rigth?

2) SLG is not focused anymore in the UK?

Thanks and congratulations for the great job your doing

1) The total coinbase of Sterlingcoin is 63,900,000. PoW is finished ("normal mining") and lasted 4 months, in that time a total ~3.8 million were mined. As of this second there are 3,865,448.922SLG in Circulation. The remaining coinbase of ~60 million is used for the accrued interest on existing and future holdings of Sterlingcoin. The only way to attain Sterlingcoin is to either trade, buy, faucets and earning it through work.

2)SLG is now focused at a world audience. We learnt within the pre-launch period and first few weeks from launching the wallet our audience was spread globally and the interest far outreached the shores of the UK. Also with a development team based in the USA and UK there was no reason to hold the currency back in any way, shape or form.

Out of interest where have you been looking at info about SLG?

Here are some useful links - http://forum.sterlingcoin.org.uk/index.php/topic,2.0.html

1) Now in existance: 3,865,448.922 SLG       5,5% PoS    after X years we arrive to 63,900,000 SLG. Is this correct?

2) I understand your change but you need to undestand that the are thousands of coins focused worldwidely, but just 1 focused in UK.
From the investor side it was an inteligent movement but from marketing point of view IMO it wasnt the best.
Before focusing worldwide you had something that makes you different from the others but now you have lost it. Why would you want to loose what makes you special??

IMO you should keep attracting international investors but the merchants and consumers should be from UK. That's what makes you STERLINGCOIN!!
Another reason is that people has something called nationalism (I'm not talking if you care or you dont care about borders and all that stuff, but the fact is it exist) and they like their national currency, is like their national identity.

Well the origins of Sterlingcoin are the UK but with International use and no limitations. That was always the intention. But people misunderstood this as being exclusively attached to the UK and unobtainable and unusable by anyone outside the UK, which simply isn't and never will be the case.

International use and no limitations.

Ok that's very easy to say, but how many international business are interested in accepting 2000 internationally focused coins??

people misunderstood this as being exclusively attached to the UK and unobtainable and unusable by anyone outside the UK, which simply isn't and never will be the case.

Maybe they just dont understand bitcoin neither

I think SLG should focus on UK merchants and consumers. Your name is sterling. They like the sterling. If they have to choose from 2,000 similar coins they gonna choose a familiar one. UK merchants is the key for UK mass adoption (the people buying SLG they dont want to see that they can buy from 5 international business, they want mass adoption so the price goes up).

This is a competition for mass adoption (UK market is big enougth:) ). Dont forget that.

You have some really valid points there. I think this matter should be given some further thought as it is extremely important from a marketing perspective.
Also, I like the idea of a Sterlingcoin Foundation  Smiley

A slow rise is much better for a coin than a short pump, so I'm not worried at all about the price right now. If the roadmap gets completed then all of the features are bound to bring attention.  Wink
Also, do the Net Hash and Difficulty tabs at the overview section in the transaction explorer still serve a purpose or could they be removed?  Smiley

The features you are bringing are really exciting, if you are able to finish them according to the roadmap, then that should definitely bring a lot of attention to Sterlingcoin. Very few coins have such ambitious plans!  Smiley

what is so great about this coin?
Everything.  Wink

Few other coins have such dedicated developers who are bringing the same features, that would usually be hyped up by other altcoins, without any fuss. They take every suggestion into consideration and are not afraid of criticism.
Also, they have brought us a number of services that other coins do not have and a lot of interesting things are in the works.
This coin has been distributed very equally and has a strong and involved community.
The identities of all the developers are public and you can even call them or skype with them if you want, which is extremely rare in the crypto-community.
This coin is only a few months old yet has had more progress than most other coins in such a short time. Furthermore, many merchants are also accepting Sterlingcoin.
There are so many other things that I probably forgot to mention.

10%  of all countable SLG. Nice investment!.
But having 0.5% does not seem to be bad either Wink

You may hope to get at least 2 BTC from your 0.5%.  Grin

Transactions explorer is getting a update today.  Should have address search working.  Just in case you all are curious about what I am doing I have been writing a lot of code for the Sterlingcoin systems.  Everything you see is mostly done from scratch except existing libraries and the use of other components that are hacked apart.  The Sterlingcoin Transactions explorer is a made up of two parts. A backend, Bitcoin ABE (https://github.com/bitcoin-abe  Abe developers) and a frontend, the actual site (http://transactions.sterlingcoin.org.uk).  The frontend has been written in PHP and also has a few node js modules that carry data between the frontend and a few other services.  The backend which uses Bitcoin ABE has been modified to support X13 coins (credits will be here soon I lost the link) and I have also modified a few ways that it stores data. It has two options to use MySQL (Default for Bitcoin ABE backend) or also REDIS (still in the works).  The Richlist is a script that has been modified by me as well from RPC ACE (https://github.com/stolendata/rpc-ace/  Robin Leffmann).  Using his code I was able to set up a semi-live richlist for Sterlingcoin.  I am rewriting the code in node js and working on a more live version using blocknotify or RPC notify and implement a AJAX frontend to provide the updated data.
This is just a few examples of what I have been doing for the community.  I have been very busy with many things and just want to let you all know I'm still here working hard to bring you all the goodies I can.  I work on a few other projects as well to help make some money to eat, so you may see me in other threads.  Check back in a few days and I will provide you all with details on a few other current projects that will be updated in the next few weeks.

Looking at stealth addresses and stealth.cpp and stealth.h of Shadowcoin and the main change would be that of the acceptance of longer addresses.

Up from the 32 character length of a Sterlingcoin address to 128 characters of a stealth address.

This would obviously change information on the blockchain and could cause potential issues i.e. a fork or other such blockchain related issue.

There are multiple reasons why we believe stealth addresses to not be a viable option to incorporate to the Sterlingcoin codebase.

We will be holding a Google+ Hangout with anyone who wishes to join us (we will set a date) and we will explain why ToR and stealth addresses in general are pointless for most users.

Especially those users running Windows or those without basic knowledge about how to keep yourself as anonymous as possible to begin with when using the net.

i.e. those running ToR at home on a Windows computer.

(Why can't people just mix their addresses using coin control like a normal person :p)

^^^The last sentance is jovial^^^

EDIT: The Google+ Hangout is only an option if people wish this to happen, however if the majority agrees that stealth is really not needed for Sterlingcoin then we will simply leave it at that.
I agree, I don't believe Tor and stealth addresses would be the right direction for Sterlingcoin. It would bring along a lot of issues.

CALLING ALL STERLINGCOINERS.
I thinks its about time we funded the video. 3 btc if I remember rightly, 30 donations of 0.1, im sure this community can manage that Cool

Ben D. – 0.04BTC
Anon - 0.01002096BTC
0.20002096BTC raised towards 3BTC

Yeah, with quite a lot of people in the community, I'm surprised that so few have contributed. Hope to see more people donate to such an important thing, as this would really enable Sterlingcoin to be marketed much easier.

Less than a month left!

I asked earlier for any recommendations where I fairly may buy Sterlingcoins with Visa, but haven't got any response?

So it there any good market place?

Thanks in advance

I think it is only possible to buy Bitcoin with VISA, but you can always send it to an exchange and buy SLG there.
You can buy Sterlingcoins from LiteBit with Visa/MasterCard credit cards.

Just getting the Windows versions built and will update all the resources online.

All resources e.g. CNET, SourceForge, GitHub, Bitbucket, Reddit and Website have the Linux and Mac Version 1.3.0.0 available to download.

Let us know what you think if you are already running the new wallet Cheesy
I love this, go away for a few days and already you guys have made a new wallet with a chat function to be released. Also, for some reason when I downloaded the Mac Lite edition wallet, the zip file contains the Full edition?
EDIT: The wallet looks great btw! Smiley

Where are you downloading from?

EDIT: We see what we have done. We pushed the full edition to the github and bitbucket lite edition repo. Give us 5 minutes Wink

Try now Wink
