All Masternodes should be updated to the latest version of Alterdot (v1.8.0.1) as well as their sentinels (v1.4.2). There are instructions for this on our Discord (https://discord.gg/86eTp6m7p9) in the #masternodes channel. There are only 2 days left until we switch to the Deterministic Masternodes system so make sure to register your MNs into the new system by following the official guide here: https://github.com/Alterdot/Alterdot/releases/download/v1.8.0.1/Alterdot_Masternode_Setup.pdf (Steps 3.4 and 3.5)

If you do not register your Masternode in the next ~550 blocks you will not be receiving rewards anymore as the old system will no longer be used!

Our browser extension that bridges the Alterdot and IPFS networks will be released very soon, I will announce an exact date for this on our Discord. Together with this release I will be doing a presentation about the extension and about what's coming next for our project, don't miss it!

A brand upgrade together with a new website and a browser extension are coming soon, when those get released the roadmap will be updated. Our long-term goal is creating an integrated environment for the decentralized web built on top of our blockchain and Masternode network and IPFS. We're also exploring our possibilities to be listed on exchanges with higher volume, we are welcome to suggestions as we might miss some good ones.

There was a bug in v1.7.2 and after updating to this version the pool ran into some problems so that was the cause most probably. I've just re-released the wallet with a fix so it is now safe to upgrade.

Synchronizing from zero takes quite a while even with enough connections so I recommend using the latest bootstrap here https://github.com/Bitcreds/Bitcreds/releases/tag/v1.7.0.0, you have instructions as well.

If you want to synchronize from scratch anyway you can connect to some of the nodes listed here https://explorer.bitcreds.org/network. The console command used for adding nodes is addnode <ip> add.

Hello people, here's some news regarding the project.

Bitcreds will undergo a process of upgrade both visually as well as functionally. As mentioned in the updated thread title we will soon offer as a service the possibility to register IPFS content on our Blockchain Domain Name System (BDNS). This process will imply burning of coins and higher rewards for miners.

The change of our mining algorithm to Argon2d16000 in 4 days will imply an advantage for CPU mining and a period of time when wallet mining should be the norm. The length of this period depends on how fast standalone miners and pools adopt Argon2d16000.

The BDNS is our main focus for the upcoming period. The next next big release, v1.8, will include the BDNS and together with it we will release our browser extension. Due to the recent integration of IPFS into the Brave browser this will streamline the user experience of anyone wishing to get a feel of the decentralized web.

I stated on Discord that this was more of a pre-announcement and that for now this is the only information I'm willing to offer. The timeline depends a lot on how many people join me on this quest so to speak.

For now, we will be working on the next big release of information about the project and I will continue to develop the codebase myself so that we have a solid starting point. There's a saying that goes along the lines that first you should lead/help yourself and then others will follow therefore after the following announcements I plan on taking some new people with me on this endeavour.

The project will extend to include more than just the blockchain infrastructure and this is where IPFS, the InterPlanetary File System, comes in to play. We're going to change some of the main parameters of the network to better suit us for the future and for the new direction, we are going for a lower annual inflation (lower block rewards and an increased block time), a hardened Argon2d algorithm and a lower Masternode collateral as currently the number of possible MNs on our network is too small. This new direction also implies an eventual change in the overall indentity of the project.

Last thing you might want to know is that the new functionalities will imply burning of coins and you will have to burn them in order to use the new services we're going to offer.

Within 2 weeks (11th of November) a snapshot will be taken of all CRDS addresses for the creation of a new coin.
Make sure to pull out your coins from exchanges, have the coins in your own private wallet!

A project was recently started called Ankh which will give a new perspective to all the people holding Credits. Ankh has a 2-coin system, one will be Ankh Electrum (based on SEQ, so if you also have Sequence you can claim Ankh Electrum), and the other one will be Ankh Credit (based on CRDS). You will receive 1 0AC (Ankh Credit) for 1 CRDS. There is no need for burning CRDS or sending them anywhere, a snapshot only requires you to have the Credits in your wallet.

Now, our rebranding is separate from Ankh, currently Credits is set to transform into Bitcreds therefore all CRDS holders will become owners of both Ankh Credits and Bitcreds.
Make sure to have the coins in your wallet and not on exchanges, I'm mentioning it again as it is very important!

Bitcreds will not require a snapshot as currently most changes will be of visual identity and there is no set date for the transition from Credits to Bitcreds so you don't have to worry about that.

This was a mandatory update, we had a hard fork at block 375,000. All the old wallet versions either got stuck at that block or ended up on a fork. If you're mining on an old version of the wallet stop immediately and upgrade otherwise your mining power is wasted.

We have successfully hard forked. The explorer, CryptoBridge and BeastPool are on the right blockchain and judging by the reported network hashrate on Suprnova they also seem to be on the right chain. I can see that most of the Masternodes on the network are now using v1.2.0.0 and they are receiving the new reward of 2 CRDS per block. Our Development Fund is also getting paid 0.5 CRDS per block. Credits has now forked according to what the community has voted upon and the new reward scheme is in place.

We're still looking for Web Developers as well as Android and iOS devs such that we can bring Credits to mobile devices as well. Our key programming language remains C++ therefore if you have programming experience with it and you are interested in this project we're more than glad to welcome you aboard; your work here will be rewarded.

You mined an orphan / uncle block, it isn't a valid one but it did show up briefly in your wallet. The network discarded it immediately so now it disappeared from your wallet as the actual block was mined by someone else.

This is a mandatory update, all Credits owners must upgrade to v1.2.0.0 until block 375,000.

After checking what was the origin of my withdrawn funds from CoinsMarkets it looks like some of them came from Masternode profits. These were either their separate funds or they chose to make a profit during this two-month-long downtime.
