Someone send me an email via this service:

https://www.guerrillamail.com

I replied to him but I am not sure he will get the message  Huh

I've used this site many times, it's actually how I learned about bitcoin. As long as he/she still has the window open they should get it. He/she could also recreate the box at a later time and receive the email, but not sure how much later.

Edit: it looks like mail is kept for an hour. Logs for 24.

What are ya'll using the .conf with just   connect=  or the .conf with  addnode= ?

I have 2 wallets that are using each and after deleting everything, including your wallet.dat(after you backed up), I am on sync with both .conf files.

I left the wallet to update overnight with the connect=. Checked it this morning, before I loaded my wallet and I was out of sync according to the blockchain explorer. I reloaded my wallet.dat and changed the config to addnode, but it made no difference. I'm now 25 blocks behind, but no sync errors on the wallet. It is updating though.

Everyone check your wallets with the explorer and make sure you are in sync. Woke up this morning and I was behind by about 100 blocks. Had delete everything and re download the chain again with the fix I posted yesterday and now i'm back in sync.

I just reloaded the blockchain yesterday. Now, my wallet says I'm in-sync, but the debug windows shows me 16 blocks behind the blockchain explorer. Is that normal?

Fuelcoin has a 50% premine, but they escrowed it with allcointoday http://www.altcointoday.com/ - not sure how much they want to be in the escrow business, but thought I'd throw that out there.

Also agree the Bittrex is the exchange to go for.

Keep up the good work!

Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage

You can't really have both. If the space is cheap, you might as well buy from the cloud. If you can make a lot of money, sell to it.

If you net out to zero, why bother? If you need the backup for peace of mind, then you'll have to pay for it.

And as stated before you get privacy, decentralization, open source, and security. If you're just trying to make money, then that is another thing.

Cool, thanks.
I noticed the long thread of comparison to MaidSafe and I had another question along those lines. MaidSafe talks about distributing fragments of files throughout the network to prevent comprise of files that might occur if a single node held them. Does Storage implement technology like that or when I pay for storage/bandwidth, do I buy from a single person and my data is stored exclusively with them?

So will you be able to share files with other people?
If so, would it be like Mega, where I can upload my files, then generate a link anyone can use to access them...
or will the person receiving the share also have to be Storj users?

Hi everybody!

This is my first post on the forum but I have been playing with mining software for some time. My question is about solo mining with litecoin and novacoin using Cgminer. I am constantly getting messages "found new block on pool 0!" but nothing after this - no rejections or acceptances. QT-software also displays no transactions. Can you help me with this? I can't find if they are invalid or orphans :/

Here's a pic of my Cgminer:

My guess would be that you're not able to solve a block before it's solved by someone else or a pool. Just a guess though. You could try it with a coin that has a really low difficulty to see if you get a different response.

New here.
I was wondering if there was any way to let my computer automatically watch profitability of different coin minings and then adjust to the most profitable coin.
ie
Is there a way of checking http://dustcoin.com/mining or http://coinchoose.com/ and, upon finding the most profitable coin to mine, have cgminer change to that coin?  [i'm talking scrypt mining here, but I suppose the same idea would apply to sha-256]
With all the variation in price, it seems like there should be some easy way to do this.
Thanks

Gonna throw middlecoin.com out there again. As Goldshredder mentioned on the last page the fees (almost 4%) are on the high side, but they do all the heavy lifting for you. They automatically switch between the most profitable coins, sell them, and then pay out in BTC.

I have a headache from changing between alt-coins but there's no other way to make money Smiley

That's why i like mining at http://www.middlecoin.com. They take all the guess work out of it. The Alt prices fluctuate too often.

(I'm not an employee of middlecoin nor am I being paid to recommend them)  Wink
Middlecoin is ok, with their 3.38% fees.

But I prefer Tompool with it's 0% (maybe soon to be 1%) fees, which does it better imo.
http://ctompo.dyndns.org:8083/Tompool/

It depends what form you want your output to be. But having used both, I know which gives the greater relative returns.

Yeah, the fees are steep. So with Tompool, do they pay out in all one cryptocurrency or in all the different altcoins you are mining?
They pay out in the different altcoins. It's a scrypt/litecoin-alt based system at the moment.  It's just a system that automatically makes sure you are mining the most profitable coin.  Which takes away the pain of having to constantly check and switch your miners over manually to the most profitable coin.

You still have to sell the coins once you have them. That is always the dilemma of multipools, the coin might be profitable at the moment you mine it, but the price might drop before you get your proceeds.

You can use auto sell methods to help with that. There are some available for Cryptsy, there is the built in autosell for a start.

Or you can hold on to the alts until they (hopefully) pump later, and sell them then.

That's half the fun, choosing your own method.  Smiley
I kind of think these multi-coin pools are a quick way to make the current "most profitable alt-coin" into a pump and dump. It both increases the supply of one/few alt coins simultaneously, which makes selling at market value difficult while it also (to me) devalues alt coins as a whole.
Which is rather unfortunate, I see some virtue in Primecoins and Freicoins for instance, they both offer some cool features and ideas.

So do you deposit directly to Cryptsy then?

Multipols and coinchoose etc are fine if you are looking to dump right away. If however you are speculating and waiting for growth then i think FTC is a much better bet. More chance that FTC will hit .0018 than LTC .04 - both of which are a 100% increase. Wink
Yo pump and dump! that's what I do! Look at the condition of WDC over at cryptsy right now, I partially caused that Cheesy Gotta love playing around with these stuff.

How could you not... 90% of these coins are made just for that. I always keep about half of my hashing in FTC though to keep for the long term.

Yeah I love cryptos for their novel concept, not really making a lot of money (electricity an all). Besides these scam coins are a perfect testbed for learning how to trade on exchanges before I put real money into stocks  Grin plus this is phun

That's a good point. I mined Alphacoins for a while just because I could get hundreds really quickly and it was fun selling those for a while until it started tanking.
