Re: Declaration of Independence - Atomic Cross Chain Asset Standard

Could you please explain this in laymen tearms for asset holder of supernet, nxtventure, jl777hodl, etc.
;Most of them are down 70-90%. Are we gonna loose the last 20% of value left?
Will they stay on these awkward child chain?
I will make a way to move to the BTC chain, so that seems not an awkward child chain.
do not worry, I will do what it takes to protect the assetholders.

James

I would like to point out that Nxt 2.0 will also allow trading assets against Bitcoin. Confirmed by Nxt developer Jean-Luc:

Would love to hear what you have to say. Link above Is a better place to discuss your ideas

It's not my idea. NXT dev Riker discusses it in the linked video.

To summarize:

- Assets are global
- Assets can be traded with Bitcoin or USD, if somebody creates a childchain which is
pegged to Bitcoin or USD
- Assets are not tied to NXT liquidity in the same way they are now. There seems to be no reason for asset prices to drop, as some have speculated will happen with 2.0
- Childchain to asset trading is in effect what users have been asking for with a request for asset-to-asset trading

Maybe you could ask Riker if he and Jean Luc would support the asset indepence protocol initiative? That way assets come come and go from the Nxt chain. Else NXT might be looking at an asset burning protocol when the assets start leaving.

There is no reason for assets to start leaving.

The Nxt 2.0 design enables trading assets against Bitcoin and USD.

I have respect for some (former and active) Nxt devs (e.g. Come-from-Beyond and jl777), but I think they need to write better specifications. I have personally told this to jl777.

What you have above is very incomplete.

It is clearly incomplete. Outside developers mostly need the Nxt API documents, and they are easy to understand.

The next big feature is child chains. There is no specification for that, but the developers seem to be able to produce working code without specifications.

do you think they had this all planned out already?

No, but I don't have any inside information.

What about using the NXT monetary system?  Anyone have any experience with that? Also, who are the service providers who could create a BTC fork for me for 1 BTC?

NXT might have something that will work for you. I had seen something about those who will create a coin for you on NXT for 1 BTC afair.

You don't need anything like that. Anyone who downloads the Nxt client and has some NXT can create their own currency.
