My password was never changed, I could still access my account - just the funds were converted to BTC and then transfered away.
So if it wasn't a XSS attack and the passwords were strong, it could only be that either the clients, the servers or the network traffic was compromised. Was any victim using linux? I tend to the servers, but how can you tell?You forget how easy it is to stop all bitcoin network traffic by blocking packets with deep packet inspection. Maybe bitcoin over freenet has better chances, but with the resources goverments have it's almost impossible to not get blocked by DPI and packet fingerprinting/statistical methods, I think.

* CSRF vulnerability - not applicable to my account, the BTC were transfered at a time I could not access Mt. Gox at all, let alone be logged in.
Maybe a CSRF attack that changed your password and the funds were transferred later?In fact encryption is useless if you enter your password with your keyboard. If your computer gets compromised by a trojan it can read your password with a keylogger.
