Can we just use the pay as you go plan without signing a agreement?
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/tag/baas/

I would be wary of Microsoft too. As with all big corporate entities, EULA's and T&C's are written for their best interest.

On a related note, it is crazy the amount of personal data Microsoft collects. It is written to basically cover anything one would do on a pc.
This is from the January 2016 Microsoft Privacy Statement
https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement/

"Personal Data We Collect"
"We collect your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other similar contact data."

"We collect passwords, password hints, and similar security information used for authentication and account access."

"We collect data about you such as your age, gender, country and preferred language."

"We collect data about your interests and favorites, such as the teams you follow in a sports app, the stocks you track in a finance app, or the favorite cities you add..."

"We collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number), and the security code..."

"We collect data about how you and your device interact with our services. This includes data, such as the features you use, the items you purchase, the web pages you visit, and the search terms you enter..."

"We collect data about your contacts and relationships if you use a Microsoft service to manage contacts, or to communicate or interact with other people or organizations."

"We collect data about your location, which can be either precise or imprecise. Precise location data can be Global Position System (GPS) data, as well as data identifying nearby..."

"We collect content of your files and communications when necessary to provide you with the services you use. For example, if you receive an email using Outlook.com, we need..."

"We also collect the content of messages you send to us, such as feedback and product reviews you write, or questions and information you provide for customer support..."

"Reasons We Share Personal Data"
"We share your personal data with your consent or as necessary..."

It does not say you will be asked for your consent, it seems to be stated indirectly that you consent to it.

Please compare the 3 interesting graphs of LTC, Ripple, and ETH.
Focus on maximum market caps of them.
All are 7XX Million dollars.
And their term gaps are 1 year or so.
 (LTC maximum : Dec 2 2013.
  Ripple maximum : Dec 22 2014.
  ETH maximum : Mar 4 2016.)
My crystal ball foretells XEM market cap will be 7XX Million dollars in May 2017. Grin

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ripple/

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/
That's the growth I'd like to see. Next year? That would be great, but if it takes a few more years, I'm ok with that too!
If they did it, what is preventing us from doing the same? It's initial conditions, variables and timing.
The platform is being built. Everything is falling into place. You can see it materializing.

NEM did have the best distribution of any Alt IPO. Unfortunately, I just don't see the Alt market going anywhere. Everyone is looking at Bitcoin and features like Rootstock will make many Alts useless. A business isn't going to integrate with an Alt when they can integrate with the largest Blockchain ecosystem (Bitcoin).  Right now, companies don't even know what to do with Blockchain, by the time they do, Bitcoin will have the features ready. Most people won't have the stomach for Alts beyond speculation. The only Alts that will survive (in my opinion) will be those that can directly interact with Bitcoin.  It sucks, but the Alt coin boom is over and dead.

On the contrary, the boom is imminent. We are at the beginning phase of Blockchain technology.

Blue - successive groups of banks/companies/consumers adopting blockchain tech.
Yellow - market share will eventually reach a saturation level.

According to Juniper the BTC forecast is a little cloudy.

My forecast for NEM: Warming trend and clear skies through 2016.  Grin

Less than 5 years for mass adoption post-V1?

I don't think Blockchain will survive, after 5 years, unless it is mass adopted or corporations embrace private chains like Mijin and use public chains like XEM as a medium between their businesses.  KimNG is prophetic, V1 will probably reach xxM market cap as XEM is currently around 6M.

I like their optimism! Anyway, we are halfway to a xxM market cap.

I'm going to agree with Steve 100%.
After a long and hard think since my first post, I have decided to put my money where my mouth is and have sold all my stake in XEM.
I have reinvested that stake in Ethereum which see no end in sight to its valuation.
It continues to climb 15-25% daily.

I have been a long time investor in XEM, but the lack of updates has really forced the issue.
I will move on to another forum but will keep a close eye on developments.
Time will tell if this move pays off.

Most long time investors know that NEM does ninja releases, unlike some other projects that tend to exaggerate and pump.
So far the unexpected news has always been good news. Keep in mind Aesop's fable of the Tortoise and the Hare.
The progress my appear slow, but each deliberate and incremental step is building solid growth.

FYI: Poloniex will no longer be offering services to residents of  New York ...

http://i.imgur.com/zPk23NB.jpg

If nobody saw this coming, you're incredibly naive.

Governments may praise crypto all they want, but in the end it challenges their positions of authority by undermining the fraud that is FIAT. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg for things to come:

http://www.coindesk.com/ny-bitcoin-business-45-days-bitlicense/

Can you expand on your assumptions?

I don't see how it challenges their authority, FIAT is just a way to trade value for goods/services just like crypto is trying to do.

No it's not. Fiat is a tool of the zionists/illuminati to control (economic instability, scaring people, financing both sides of wars), rob (illegal taxes) and enslave people (debts and interest - interest was invented by Jews. Interest is a form of injustice and it therefore forbidden by God -> God encourages trade and charity).

Not sure if serious or sarcastic, either way lol.
The invention of interest was by the Sumerians from Mesopotamia, modern-day Iraq, Kuwait and parts of Iran, Syria and Turkey.

Something went drastically wrong at communicating to the public about NEMs features. Nobody is talking anymore about it on the trollboxes. And if you mention XEM you get answers like "lol xem". This is really disappointing as there has been so much work by the devs and others and it seems like nobody finds it useful  Embarrassed

Maybe our wide distribution has something to do with it.
A stable XEM value indicates to me that NEM is more resistant to pump and dump and therefore less interest to the kids in the trollboxes.
Marketing is very restrained. We are still in beta, our modus operandi is stealth, so until NEM Version 1 gets here I  guess things will be a little quiet.

for the last six weeks I said "Makoto was doing presentations and having meetings."

my reports were met by doubt, saying devs weren't doing anything.  In fact just the opposite.  Makoto was have serious meetings for VC funding.

and this is just a start.

for weeks I didn't say that he was seeking VC funding or trying to get it, but now that it has been officially formalized he just dropped it on you.

this is our style, nem ninja style, and we will continue to do ninja launches.

+1 for the ninja launches. I really like NEM's stealthy modus operandi.

Livecoding.tv is a livestreaming platform where programmers code live. You can watch developers write in real time.
Viewers can also ask questions while the coder is working.

Live

Maybe one of our NEM devs can exhibit their skills. https://www.livecoding.tv/streamingguide/
Open Broadcaster Software is what they recommend for video recording and live streaming. Take a look at their

I added a new node and changed the host for the EU-node. Please restart your delegated harvesting.

My current public nodes:

EU.NEMNO.DE (52.28.120.70 | Port 7890 | Germany, Frankfurt)
US.NEMNO.DE (52.8.163.104 | Port 7890 | USA, California)

For more infos check the status site http://www.nemno.de

Followed your delegated harvesting video, and it worked first time. I just sent you my remote account private key. Thanks

When I installed the NEM client (v0.6.28) and imported my private key the balance showed 0 XEM. The private key correctly loaded the same address that I sent in. I also set it to primary account. What am I missing?

Please check this thread that your address is not listed as sock:
https://forum.ournem.com/nem-news-alerts/the-age-of-extinction-the-final-blow-to-sockmasters/

If it is, please contact makoto/patmast3r.

Thanks Tompa, that was the problem.
I bought ~$30 of XEM and after just 1 day I harvested my first block, you can't to that with Bitcoin. Now to work on getting 5M XEM.

I harvested more profit with NEM on my first day then I did 9 months of harvesting on other platforms.
My first 2 days and already 3 blocks. This demonstrates how PoI harvesting is superior to PoW mining and is a definite improvement over PoS forging. Once others realize how equitable the harvesting is, I can see NEM really taking off. It's just a matter of time.
