Re: [XRP] Ripple announcing lock-up next month (june) - Shoot to stars
by

So does Ripple have the potential to become a 100 dollar coin in 10 years from now?

i don't think so... i don't think it will ever be 100 usd by real usecase ..

, but 3 to 5  dollar coin by 2018 Summer - we can bet on it with great mathematical certainty.

just based on international remittance market, XRP will need to be 3 dollars to move even 20% of current market value.

now this is without speculation and trading .. so with those two added, can it go much higher .. hmm.. i would say yes !

lets see ...

I like the way you said that. 2018 is a pretty quick. That would mean almost every week it will be significantly higher then the week before that.

[ETH] How high do you think Ethereum will go with this rally?

Curious how high people think ETH will go with this bullrun.
I think it might go on for a while until a clear path for BTC is set.

One bitcoin will be around the 800 dollar in my eyes, I think it will be at a nice amount and stable.
Its of course not predicted but most likely it will be like this.

It will be worth more then $800 before this years end dude Wink
$10.000,- isn't wishful thinking it's almost logic if this form of payment gets used by people more and more.

New to this coin and want to invest some BTC into it and probably contribute to the network by buying a few TB harddrives.

I was wondering one thing, do you guys really see bitcoin implementing this network sometime in the future?
And also wouldn't Sys coin be a better investment right now and why not?  Roll Eyes

Any idea's why my wallet is only minting very small amounts? I never transferred small amounts to the wallet.
It's minting 70/100 at a time. Previously this was between 600 and 15000.
It starting doing this with wallet 2.0.1.0 and i just updated to 2.0.2.0

Check wallet and repair wallet say everything is good.

Bitcoin will reach the price between $1000 to $1500 by the year 2020. This is just a prediction based on the current scenario of bitcoin's growth. As few users suggested several corporates will involve in Bitcoin by the coming years.
I agree with this value for 2020.. And i think the price should play around $1000-$1500 i dont really see any reason why people say the value of bitcoin will increase in 10k value its impossible and i think it will not happen.. is just my speculation.. but if heard this thing its impossible..

Yes, I don't think that bitcoin will reach to $10k in next 4 years, I think people have very high expectations from bitcoins and that is good, but you cannot ignore the reality too.

And the reality would be?

Re: [ANN][MINT] Mintcoin - New Wallet v2.0.2 - Security Maintenance
by
arandy
on 03/03/2016, 10:29:45 UTC

RECOMMENDED  UPDATE - v2.0.2

This is a security and maintenance patch for the 2.0 branch of MintCoin. As work towards the 2.1 overhaul is being extended, we are continuing to make adjustments and forward compatibility patches to our current release branch (2.0). Included in this release are a number of updates related to security. Though mostly edge cases, we feel it is important to include such patches for completeness.

SUPPORT FOR 3RD PARTY TRANSACTION URLS

Included in this release is optional support for 3rd party transaction URLs (Block explorer links). The setting is accessed from within the GUI's options window in the "Display" tab. Users can enter URLs to as many Block Explorers Transaction pages as they like and each entry (after restarting the client) will then be a clickable item in the transaction history's context menu.

This eliminates the need to manually copy/paste a TXID into a block explorer's search field. Some example URLs to include in this field are:

Code:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/mint/tx.dws?%s.htm
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/BlockExplorer?id=240&txId=%s

SECURITY / DEPENDENCIES UPDATES

  • [f21ebad] Guard against OpenSSL's new strict DER checking
  • [1696dc1] Miniupnpc 1.9 API compatibility
  • [a5d130c] Fix invalid signature with crafted length (PPC)

CLI / GUI UPDATES

  • [470bfb4] Optional support for 3rd party transaction URLs
  • [2215305] Display the Berkeley DB version used in debug.log and RPC Console UI
  • [e8e2d96] Clean up GUI Tooltips and status message handling

MISC UPDATES

HOW TO UPDATE

Since this release still runs on the single-file database format, updating is a simple process of replacing your binary executable from one of the downloads from the downloads page. Please make sure that no MintCoin processes are currently running before replacing this file! Once the file has been replaced, start up your wallet/daemon as usual.

WINDOWS INSTALLER RETURNS

Windows clients now again have the option of using a self-contained installer (available below) to install MintCoin on their systems. The installer places the binaries in your Program Files folder and adds a handy Start Menu Icon for easy launching.

NOTE FOR SELF-COMPILERS

This release is NOT contained in the master branch of the MINT repository, it is in the 2.0 branch exclusively! The 2.0 branch contains backports from our development repos that were custom tailored specifically for the 2.0 branch of MINT. Rather than deal with a chain of rebases, we decided to branch off the 2.0 tree from master. The process for compiling this release yourself contains the additional step of making sure you have the correct branch (or tag) checked out.
Code:
git clone https://github.com/MintcoinCommunity/Mintcoin-Desktop-Wallet.git
Then either
Code:
git checkout 2.0
or
Code:
git checkout tags/v2.0.2

All startup and RPC commands from previous versions, as well as conf file format remain the same.
All Images, Logos, and GUI elements remain consistent with previous 2.0 branch releases.

I just updated and wallet runs fine but when i click on the links in the wallet the won't work.
If domains don't exist anymore they really shouldn't be listed in the wallet i think.

Other then that keep up the good work

With Consensus reached wouldn't it be time we get above the $500 mark this week?

I guess it depends on what you mean by "consensus."

I was talking about this consensus. Maybe i don't read enough but isn't this the thing that gets everything back on track into 1 camp again?

I've been running a poll for some time now about the value of 1 bitcoin by 2020 and it's safe to say a lot of different opinions and guesses are made.
This poll completes the other one and i'm really looking forward to everyone's input in this.

Looking for programmer that can help me develop new bitcoin app idea
by
arandy
on 15/02/2016, 11:49:45 UTC
Yesterday i was dreaming away a little bit and bam! An idea struck me.
Long story short i have a great idea which isn't out there yet and i need to find someone who can program the shit out of it.
I make decent money with bitcoin so i could pay somebody for the work although i rather start something up together and share in profit when it works out.

Is there maybe some sort of platform like kickstarter but for people like me who need help developing idea's?
I need experienced people who also know their way around bitcoin.

Any advise is welcome i never did this kind of thing.
I will register the idea globally and have people sign a non compete before sharing the info but other then that i got nothing yet.

Let's go for 5k$ as it sounds pretty realistic (outside bubbles).
Biggest threats will come from Ethereum or better cryptocurrencies that will scale faster compared to Bitcoin and all its forking drama.
Invest moderately, no need to rush.

I don't think so. Maybe Bitcoin will be 1k.
I think that because you never know what can happen.

Maybe there will be another coin that's more valuable. The future is always unexpectedly.

If the user amount increased from 1 million to 10 million, the price will increase 100 times. So it will be 100*400= $40,000.

I dont think that will happen, you can't control the future but I dont think its possible.
The bitcoin wil rise but not with to 40k its just to much, its very unstable nowadays.

The future of bitcoin is good but so good, no I dont think so it will be at 10k max.

I don't think the value would reach 10000$ by the year 2020. The price may reach up to a range of 5000$ to 6000$.
The bitcoins growth is not continuous, so according to the calculation it won't even touch the 5000$ which I've quoted.

5k would be awsome to Wink just need to have 500 / 750 btc before that happens and i'm set for life lol. Wish me luck  Cool
