Re: [ANN][CACH] CACHeCoin released based on scrypt-jane

Guys, can you tell me whether my hashrates are OK? Im using cgminer that supports scrypt-jane algorithm. I've read somewhere on the internet, that scrypt-jane hashrate should be something like 75% of scrypt hashrate. In my case, it is not Sad. I'm not getting any HW errors at all.

radeon 7970
265 kH/s (WU: 220 kH/s) -- scrypt-jane
760 kH/s (WU: 690 kH/s) -- scrypt

radeon 270x
186 kH/s (WU: 195 kH/s) -- scrypt-jane
465 kH/s (WU: 410 kH/s) -- scrypt

my configs: (I'm ofcourse executing both cgminers with additional "--scrypt-jane" param)

My hashrate shows only half of the real hashrate. My rigs are working normally I have checked them.

I'm on eu server. Today payout was similar to me if I were mining LTC. It sucks! Even if doge going down, i must have 120-130 % to ltc...
And no unexchanged Sad
Looks like h2o have Big problem with exchanging or calculating algoritm Sad

im pretty sure u can do better, so go ahead

www.cgminer-config.com
Since it took me few days to get best configs for my minning rigs, I've decied to make a page that could help people.
There are already few scripts added by some people. Feel free to use them / add ur own.
Page is registration free and allows everyone to add his own config.
If you enjoy someone's config, please vote for it. Thanks to this, other people may know that this config is better than others.

I hope you enjoy it Smiley

Re: Where can I get cgminer sources from?
by

Yes, i know there are sources avaiable at:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/3.6/
and
https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer.
But I'd like to know, which one to download in order to compile it under windows using MinGW.
I think i've downloaded wrong one, because I'm having error saying something about posx threads lib missing, which belongs to linux standard.

Hi,
At the moment, I'm using cgminer version 3.6.6 (downloaded from http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/)
I'd like to compile it myself but I can't find cgminer sources (ver 3.6.6).
Thanks in advance.

if you don't see that you still get a significantly higher hash rate with GPU for the price of the ASIC Scrypt I don't know what to say.
Power usage savings of even 1k watts, is minimal considering the much higher hash output.

Do the math please, then really let it sink in.

I appreciate your condescension.  Let me reciprocate it.

The cost of the 3MH/s model is 11190 Chinese Yuan, or $1849.19 according to the supplier’s website.
That is currently $0.61/kH

Let’s just say you can get 280X’s left and right for $300 because you are a fucking wicked smooth barterer.  You also get 800kH/s on each card because you are a configuration specialist.  So just for the cards, you are paying $0.375/kH.  Let’s not even factor in electricity or other components you need for your rig as we all have closets full of spare computer parts to build endless rigs.  You are getting a 40% discount on hashing power with GPUs compared to an ASIC.

Thankfully, you don’t have to worry about ASICs becoming more powerful and more affordable.  That never happened with Bitcoin right?  That’s why after ASICs came out last year, they were continually outperformed by GPUs.  Oh what’s that?  That shit didn’t happen?  No fucking shit dumbass.

If there is a chip that is producing 300kH/s right now, then there will be a Scrypt ASIC chip this year that will make GPU mining ineffective for Scrypt just as last year it became ineffective for SHA256.

You can have this lesson for free.  Next time you think your math is great, you should think a little more progressively and stop being short-sighted.

1. there's no scrypt chip producing 300kH/s
2. how much ram does sha256 mining need - almost 0
3. how much ram does scrypt mining need - shitload Smiley
4. is fast ram cheap? n0pe
5. can asic scrypt miners be as good as asic sha256 miners? (thousands time faster?) - N0PE Smiley, unless you can get 1000GB (ultra fast ddr5) cheap ram
6. can u stop telling bullshits? i guss so

Guys, do you think my WU is too low? Can i do better? (screen from 2,5 hours of running)
img]http://oi40.tinypic.com/pyq1d.jpg[/img
my config (those are 3x 7970): http://cgminer-config.com/getConfig.php?id=11
And I have removed gpu-fan line making fans run on 95% speed. It was stupid Tongue. I agree. It's cold in that room anyway.

Try lowering your gpu-engine -> 1050 a higher hash will not mean a better WU
Cards undervolted?
Nope, I havent touched voltages. Those are blocked in my cards though.

using asia server atm
try to go for high thread-concurrency + low intensity
getting 1~% reject

280x @ 680kh/s:-
thread-concurrency : 28672 (2048 * 14)
gpu-thread : 1
intensity : 18
gpu-engine : 1100
gpu-memclock : 1500

7950 @ 590kh/s :-
thread-concurrency : 25984 (1792 * 14.5)
gpu-thread : 1
intensity : 18
gpu-engine : 1050
gpu-memclock : 1250

Woah you sure can run more optimized than that.

We run our 280x @ 725kh/s with 0.5% reject rate
thread-cuncurrency: 8196 (with Zuikkis kernel)
gpu-thread: 2
intensity: 13
gpu-engine: 1020
gpu-memclock: 1500

Im having 760 kh/s at 7970 (< 0.3% rejects) (which is same as 280x) using config which can be found on this page http://cgminer-config.com/. I've made that page a while ago so people could share theirs configs and vote for best ones ;P
