The new beta version is ready. It is mostly a bugfix release, the more significant upgrades are coming next month. You can download PhoenixMiner 6.3b from here:

PhoenixMiner_6.3b_Windows.zip
PhoenixMiner_6.3b_Linux.tar.gz

The new features in this release are:

  • Full LHR disable mode -lhrdis <n>  1 - yes (default), 0 - no

  • RTX 3060 LHR       ~ 50 MH/s
  • RTX 3060 Ti LHR       ~ 60 MH/s
  • RTX 3070 LHR       ~ 60 MH/s
  • RTX 3070 Ti LHR       ~ 81 MH/s
  • RTX 3080 10GB LHR   ~ 98 MH/s
  • RTX 3080 Ti LHR       ~ 120 MH/s

  • Dual mining TON
  • Fixed an issue with expired SSL certificate that led to "certificate verify failed" errors when connecting to some pools (notably Ethermine) when using SSL connections
  • Show the GPU vendor name in the list of GPUs to make it easier to identify the GPUs
  • Added support for the latest AMD Linux drivers 21.40.1. There are some bugs in these drivers, particularly the clocks and voltages can't be set properly with older
    cards (RX4x0/RX5x0/Vega/RadeonVII)
  • Validated support for the latest AMD Windows drivers up to 21.11.2
  • Fixed issues with AMD RX6700XT cards with the latest AMD and Linux drivers
  • Fixed issues with AMD Vega and Radeon VII cards on latest Windows and Linux drivers
  • Fixed crash with very old Nvidia drivers (3xx.x)
  • Other fixes and small improvements

Known issues (driver incompatibilities, etc.) and workarounds:

If you are using Linux drivers 21.40.1 with Radeon VII cards, you need to add the option -fpwm 1 in order to have proper fan control.
AMD Linux drivers 21.40.1 has finally removed the requirement of PCIe atomics but there are problems when you try to mix Polaris (RX4x0/5x0) cards and Vega or newer cards on the same rig.
Some Nvidia cards will report a lot of stale shares under Windows 11. Using the same driver version under Windows 10 resolves the issue.

Re: BIP 91 lock-in period

So like it seems, Bip91 will get through, but what will happen after?

I know its about bigger Blocksizes ect. but how long will it take after Bip91 gets confirmed until the new Blocksize will work for the Chain?

Bip 91 itself will not increase the block size or activate segwit. After it locks in, it will activate 336 blocks later. Then the miners will start orphaning blocks which don't signal for segwit activation which will cause segwit to activate 2 weeks after that. Thats it for BIP 91, though as part of the segwit2x plan, the miners will probably try to activate a hard fork in November to increase the block size. That part is very up in the air at this point at how thats going to play out.

Bip 91 itself looks very likely to lockin soon well before UASF.

The people signalling segwit2x already accepted that there will be a block size increase and at this point I don't think anyone is interested in destroying bitcoin so I think that will go off as planned without problems.

I think it's clear what they want to do. But I don't believe there is consensus on it with bitcoin users (unlike with segwit). So if Nodes, btc users, and exchanges refuse to follow the 2 MB hard fork, it won't really mean much since everyone will have to update to a new client to support it. They might or might not reach concensus by then since UASF for example already shows theres been alot of pushback against miner control.

If they agree, we'll probs just increase the block size.
If there is concensus not to fork, miners would either have to aquiesce or begin attacking the network (if they have a majority, they can make it so no transactions can be confirmed or they keep getting erased).
If users and miners are split, the blockchain would probably split for at least a while.

I think thats mostly accurate, but I might have gotten some details(maybe alot) wrong. Correct me if I did plz!

I'm not active on here but I'm super active on reddit..
[deleted]

Anyway if you don't know me, I used to be a miner. Now I use use Bitcoin in my daily life. I'm in need of 0.05 btc as I'm short for a new purchase, I'll gladly pay back 0.054 BTC in a week. I know you guys go mad about collateral, so I can offer this account & my reddit one as collateral?

Collateral is used to make back losses, which is something you shouldn't worry about because I will not be one of the scammers you see here. Just search "ashaw596" and you'll find my profile everywhere.

Thanks.

We hold, because we have no other choice psychologically speaking. Actualizing loss is very hard for people to do. No matter, we think of loss in USD and being left with only fiat and no chance of a rebound is too psychologically harming. Also this.

Anyways. Meh. I'm holding.  Grin

Yeah, but some exchanges are small enough that "cornering the market" can be done with not that much btc. I mean look at the price differential between markets  sometimes ...

You need a lot of bitcoins or money to do that

Do you mean "money or fiat"?

I think whichever would be fine since you can always exchange. But true, you would need alot. However, woudln't the people with ALOT of btc also be the ones who would benefit the most from this kind of price manipulation.
