Hi, my transactions are stuck too.  I was partially sweeping a cold storage paper wallet address and the first tx had a bit of a low fee but the second attempt had a reasonable.  Both are stuck now:

You might want to check out https://github.com/bcoin-org/bcoin as well.  You can run it in SPV mode if you don't want to run a full node.

I'm using android version 4.0.10 and am seeing this error message after sending a small transaction and then trying to send another one soon after.  I'm guessing it's because the wallet is waiting for the change from the first transaction to be confirmed back to the sending address before allowing another transaction to spend any of the change.

I've found https://blockchain.info/api/api_websocket really handy for watching addresses and transactions in realtime web apps with javascript.  I tried to ask blockchain.info if the implementation of this API is open source somewhere and didn't get a response.  I don't see it on their github page.  Does anyone know how this is implemented or if there are any open source alternatives that I could host myself?  Any ideas what technologies might be used to create an API like this?  socket.io? bitcoind or bitcoinj?

Hi piuk, apologies if this has been asked before but how is the blockchain.info websocket API implemented and is it open sourced somewhere?  If not, would you consider open sourcing it?  I'd like to host my own version of it.

I setup a wallet for a friend of mine at blockchain.info several months back and it's just recently been emptied of 5 BTC: https://blockchain.info/address/1BCBgPjdZsheEq6mtfBTDQx3rX3seY2ioC.  Strangely there was 0.31594303 left in tact which I've just moved to an address under my control.  The unauthorized transaction was https://blockchain.info/tx/d37bfd5a31e3535c0be745d8c94aca7603f8afa9c5264204a0ab142dc56424d9

I checked her "archived addresses" and although there are some in there, the offending address 1JR4byfx89UCn6dyVzfvtoD37iDdneJGS4, is not.

She changed the main password on the account after I set it up for her and said she had a secondary password on the account although now that she's given me the new password I'm logged in and there doesn't seem to be a secondary one set.  Blockchain's logging feature was disabled.  I checked with her and she wasn't using the mobile app, just logging in from her laptop and her work PC.  She said she had been logging in to the account every few days to "check the wallet".  Unfortunately I guess she didn't know that you could check the address balance without logging in.  I feel bad because this started out as an account for me to pay her back $10 for lunch when bitcoins were $5 so we never bothered with cold storage.  She bought 3.35 BTC off me for $150 last month as an investment.  There are also some minor transactions to the address that I sent while doing some testing.

The original password I set on the account was foxconn123 (an inside joke) and she had it changed to foxconn321 when it was hacked -- so not particularly strong.  I presume she had backups emailed to her but am not sure.  Since she didn't use a new address after changing the main password a compromised backup file could have been encrypted with either the original or new password I suppose.  Possibly bruteforced?  Or do you think she might have a keylogger installed on one of her machines?  Any other thoughts or suggestions?  She said she had had trouble logging in to the site the other night and got a spinner icon and a message saying something along the lines of "changing wallet identifier".  I know blockchain.info was having some server issues yesterday but not sure how that could relate to these coins going missing.

Great site!  I think we have very similar tastes and sensibilities.  I've also created a free, minimal tool that people can use to accept bitcoins.  Mine is geared more towards merchants who would run it on an electronic device to accept payments in a store or restaurant.  The page does currency conversion and monitors for transactions at a provided address by listening to a websocket from blockchain.info.  When a transaction is detected the page displays a notification in real time so the merchant can know that payment was received.

The URL parameters are configurable so you can enter any receiving address.  You can use a form to configure other parameters: http://vanbtc.ca/setup or save the parameters to a persistent URL by creating a username and password: http://vanbtc.ca/users/new

Hi all, I'm a long-time lurker.  I've recently launched a website, http://vanbtc.ca/, to promote local bitcoin exchangers and merchants in Vancouver, British Columbia.

I've also built a simple and customizable Point-of-Sale page that anyone can run on a laptop or tablet device to accept bitcoins in their store.  It exchanges from fiat currency, generates a QR code, listens for transactions at the receiving address and displays a notification when payment is received. 

Payments made through the page get logged with the exchange rate at the time of sale.  The merchant can see a report of all the payments made to their address by clicking on it.  This allows me to pay them out for all the bitcoins they receive and insulate them from bitcoin market price volatility.

Thanks for the offer.  I might take you up on it later but right now I'm saving up to purchase more Android Tablets (e.g. http://www.gadgetsdealer.com/product126439.html) to take around to more stores.  I want the barrier of entry to be zero for the merchants so I'm going to loan the tablets out for free for the time being and probably do some sort of rent-to-own arrangement later on.

I've been doing the same in Vancouver.  We have a fairly well-attended monthly meetup group here http://www.meetup.com/bitcoinvan/ and a good number of people offering to exchange bitcoins through localbitcoins.com.

Last week I was in a cafe/restaurant by my house that had a notice up saying they were no longer accepting VISA/Mastercard for purchases under $20 due to a recent increase in the transaction fees.  I pitched bitcoins to the owner and they've agreed to accept them starting tomorrow!  I'm going to set them up with a Point of Sale app that I've been working on that runs nicely on cheap 7" Android tablets: http://vanbtc.ca/sweettooth
