Not gonna get merits with that attitude, that's for sure.

Either way I wouldn't be able to get a decent amount of merit.
Also you would probably enjoyed if I kissed your ass for merit. And that's what others are probaby doing to get 1 merit and reach 100 after 3 years. Not going to do that though. Probably that's what this system is about.
Kissing old members ass.

So funny how all these members somehow collude to make a point. Why did you jump in the discussion suchmoon? You felt overwhelmed by the injustice against your buddie "o_e_l_e_o"?

I completely agree but do you question yourself perhaps? Do you ever wonder that you might not be contributing at all by answering whatever comes in your mind on any post you find? Because I didn't find your post by accident.
In the thread you are referring to, you provided incorrect information and I corrected you. You didn't read the link I provided and doubled down on your incorrect assumptions, so I corrected you again. You may want to reflect as to whose contribution is less useful.

Do you also understand that the only people that leveled to the rank of Full Member are native English speakers and the rest have absolutely zero chance getting merited?
That is just categorically not true. Several of the highest merited users of all time are not native English speakers, such as LoyceV (>3000 earned merit) and micgoossens (>2000 earned merit). There are users who have earned >100 merit not only not being a native English speaker, but not even earning a single merit in any of the English speaking boards. Look at abhiseshakana for example. 1272 earned merit, and he doesn't even post on the English boards.

Yes enjoy correcting. Since you do that, you might try being in detail from your first answer though. Doesn't need to put hints and links and answering like you did. You answer ("correction") was inadequate.

Also about merit, you are referring to 3-4 exceptions. Meanwhile I'm reading bounty hunters answers in every forum post, from persons that have 100+ merit just because they were bounty hunting since 2017. Is this a just system? Why would people that don't offer anything useful have full member ranks? Just because they were lucky to have posted a hundred replies in 2017?

I'd be interested to know which countries have right now these systems you are referring to. SEPA as you are saying is "in the process" of creating an instant wire-transfer processing system, which in banking terms means 2-10 years.
Did you look at the link I provided?

I don't have to click links and I rarely do. It is your duty to answer in detail since you did jump in the discussion without being asked.
Then again I admit that I was wrong as I didn't believe that EU banks could have adopted so fast and didn't wire-transfer money since 2018. The information you provided was valuable.

Re: Bitcoin ATMs should target developing and third world countries
by

Lot's of Bitcoin ATMs keep popping in the developed countries such as US, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong etc. But I have been thinking why don't the owner's target countries without much economic stability? Like Venezuela (btw they just got their first Bitcoin ATM). That would increase the adoption. Something like backpropagation. What do you think?

If you are talking about the major population of the developing world, then you might be talking about 1-2 Bitcoin ATM's in every major city. There won't be demand as most have no money to gamble on Bitcoin.
Still I've noticed in google trends a few countries (as Ghana and Nigeria) having increased interest in Bitcoin. Perhaps the companies that install them can survey the interest in these countries and install a few as a test.

There's a statistic for the most boards where most merit is sent, then I guess you have to keep posting in that board if you are also interested with the topic.
I think this is the wrong advice to be giving.

We shouldn't be encouraging users to post in sections where they have nothing useful to contribute

Merit system created a closed circle in bitcointalk and it is actually a impossible acheivement for anyone not proficient in English.

Where have you seen wire transfers processing instantly? It takes 3 days minimum. This is the traditional banking we are speaking about. Who the hell told you it is instant???
There are some countries with systems in place to allow instant transfers. The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) are in the process of setting up a European wide payment processor called SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (https://www.europeanpaymentscouncil.eu/what-we-do/sepa-instant-credit-transfer) which should allow instant transfers between accounts at any time of day or night. Whether or not exchanges will start using this is another matter, but it is certainly possible.

Fiat banking systems are generally pretty slow and archaic, but the US banking system is very poor even by those standards. Perhaps the growth of bitcoin might force them to actually modernize a little.

I'd be interested to know which countries have right now these systems you are referring to. SEPA as you are saying is "in the process" of creating an instant wire-transfer processing system, which in banking terms means 2-10 years.
So you are basically saying that their is no system available to process transactions in the same day.

I don't understand why you don't answer my question with a simple yes you are right and you are starting with "There are some countries with systems in place to allow instant transfers."

Which countries are these? Can you go in detail?

Re: Institutions Buying Bitcoin While They Fud
by
astadbtc
on 28/07/2019, 14:14:50 UTC
JP Morgan didn't FUD against Bitcoin, Jamie Dimon did, but it was his personal opinion and not an official statement of the company.

JP Morgan didn't buy any big amount of coins to hodl them, because they believe in Bitcoin, they bought some Bitcoin-based derivatives to speculate on them.

JP Morgan wanted to create their own coin, a stablecoin like Libra, which would make them a competitor of Bitcoin, at least in some sense.

There's no solid proof that institutions buy Bitcoin after spreading FUD, it's just a conspiracy theory.

Then how do you describe Nouriel Roubini that was FUDing all day about how wrong we are on cryptocurrencies and how he did stop talking about Bitcoin the same moment we started moving up again?
Same moment that twitter stopped suspending cryptocurrency promotional accounts and when facebook decided to stop deleting accounts promoting Bitcoin and crypto.
Also same moment when twitter CEO went full FOMO on Bitcoin by promoting it with his tweets.
Wasnt that co-ordinated? And all the twitter bot accounts with 100K paid followers that told you to buy at 14K? This was spontenious too?
You are saying that Jamie Dimon went against his company policies as a CEO and was discrediting their investment? You obviously have no clue how corporations and banks work/think.
This is all planned and executed in all detail. This is no UFO's to talk about conspiracies. I'm amazed by your simplicity into calling this is a conspiracy theory.

Re: There Is No War Against Bitcoin! Stop The Fud!
by
astadbtc
on 28/07/2019, 10:59:33 UTC
I see many users talking about how USA government and Trump declared a war against Bitcoin! No, they didn't. Listen their message again! They declared a war against the criminals who are using bitcoin for illegal activities. A huge difference! This will be a good thing in the longterm. So stop spreading this fud cuz of wrong interpretation. Many big players already know that dollar is dying. They know that dollar can't survive for a long time. As the dollar collapses in the near or middterm future, bitcoin will rise and rise enormously. They know that. They also know that the trigger for all of this could be the next major financial crisis where a lot of funds will go to gold and bitcoin. But because bitcoin is a low marketcap compared to gold, it will rise much more than gold. They know that and they will try to regulate it but they cannot stop it. They (USA Congress) already admited that bitcoin is unstoppable. No one can stop it. If you can't win them, join them. So eventually everyone will join bitcoin in the future.

What do you expect from the USA President to say? That the dollar is weak and that Bitcoin is the King? This is what he is supposed to say there is no reason to either think that he will promote Bitcoin or dump the dollar.
The rest about Bitcoin used only for criminal activities are to be disregarded as propaganda.

Every government is coming to realization on what Bitcoin can become. Back in 2017 we had politicians talking about how a possible Bitcoin dive in price could actually start a new recession.

There are people that are afraid of the future power and growth of Bitcoin and they will try to "tame" it and make it as centralized as they can to achieve their goals.

The problem for them, is that if they succeed in centralizing it, they will instantly fail to use it as it will become obsolete. So all their effort would be just to destroy Bitcoin. And after that, another technology will appear that would be even better and harder to regulate and take over. Remember the file-sharing websites in 2000 and the war against them? They shut-down most of them only for p2p technology and torrent sites to appear.

I've never watched a news report for Bitcoin explaining what it actually is.
Most of the times when they talk about Bitcoin in TV you can see that they are really happy only when price falls. Probably this makes the people that just scratched the surface feel better. Return to sanity or whatever.
Since they talk about this subject which we understand, where it is clear to realize their lies and propaganda, can you think of all the subjects that we don't understand how much they manipulate us?

Re: What's going on with BTC?

These guys say that BTC is going up thanks to apps such as Lolli and CasaHodl which have helped to accumulate and simplify the process of being a bitcoin market participant. https://cryptotradernews.com/cryptocurrency/why-is-the-price-of-btc-rising/

Any other explanations as to what's causing this BTC upsurge?

There have been good news since Q4 2018. Even when the dip to 3K happened we had only good news. I cannot deny Tether had some part to do with the price exploding to 14K and this will be reflected later on a possible dip.

For who will invest for first time in Bitcoin, what is the basic recomendations and tips to PLAY THE GAME!??

4. List me all your good tips for to start now! I will be very grateful...

Pleaseee give me tips about reinvest BTC with your own gains...
5.If I invest $500,00 in BTC, in variation of BTC (%) I have now $530,00.... I want to know if it's worth to sell those small profits ($30*) to wait a down Bitcoin % to repurchase them again. Or is it very little profit and not worth reinvesting? Help me understand this mathematics of reinvesting to multiply profits... I'm very confusing about it, and I want reinvest and multiply...

8 pages of answers and noone actually cares to answer OP's main question.
Bitcointalk is not a forum anymore but an advertising agency. I was so tired trying to read 2 pages of comments that had no substance at all so I skipped all the comments.
Anyway, if noone answered this I will.
There are a few people that have this strategy you speak of. But I doubt they do this with 500$ accounts. With the volume you are trading I'd advice going all-in, all-out on your trades, unless you are using leverage.

Today I sent a small amount of USD from my Coinbase account, to my bank account. It says I will not receive those funds for 3 full days. Any other bank in the world would make that transaction almost immediately. Why does Coinbase take their sweet time? That is cruddy. Coinbase treats fiat like it is crypto. I am glad I do not have funds in Coinbase anymore, well, in a few days I won't.

Where have you seen wire transfers processing instantly? It takes 3 days minimum. This is the traditional banking we are speaking about. Who the hell told you it is instant???
Even the money you sent from your card to buy on Amazon they are not delivered instantly. Amazon sees them on their account on the next working day! So if you buy something at Friday Amazon will have the money available only on Monday.
What is actually instant is only transfers between accounts of the same bank.

Good news from team stellar about airdrop hold XLM. How many minimum hold XLM to get airdrop? Is it only binance or another exchange will get too?

You need to hold at least 10 XLM. Binance will begin snapshots from 20 July and will make the airdrop on 1st September. Besides from the airdrop, you will also receive Stellar staking rewards.

⭐ Merited by LoyceV (2)
I hope they do.  Cool

Quite a few people believe it was a team instead of one person. I haven't research this far, but I trully believe that one gifted person alone, can actually manage to create a technological breakthrough that can change the lives of everyone. I believe that Satoshi is a single person that created everything with his own brilliant mind.

Patterns and technological advances that big corporations claim as their own, are usually build by one individual alone. His contract though, on every situation, claims that any breakthrough he achieves using company assets or data, is owned by the company. Scientists get paid a lot though for this reason. Although they miss the glory in most fields of science and technology this way and their name stays in the shadows.

I really hope Satoshi is alive and kicking and watching his child becoming what he always hoped for.
I read quite a few of his posts in bitcointalk and I only hold admiration for him.

If he is alive and decides to sell, he deserves the wealth. Kudos to him. Still it would have huge implications on price of Bitcoin.
