I have STRAT for more than 5000 dollars. I would like you to help me to be able to change them to STRAX!
It is not normal that I am held hostage by your changes !

You have to swap your STRAT to STRAX. You still have enough time to do the swap.

Just follow the instructions in the swap manual. You can find it over here:
https://www.stratisplatform.com/2020/11/17/strax-token-swap-process/

Good luck.

Hi Khilone7,
i am confused. I have the stratisx wallet and want to upgrade to stratis core wallet.

If i go to the website (https://stratisplatform.com/wallets/) it only shows core version 1.1.0 under the wallet section.

Can i stake with core v 1.1.0 or is staking only possible with Stratis Full Node 3.0.2?

Cheers,
Atlas

Do you have any thoughts on Hashgraph?

Yes. But about coins which attempt to compete with IOTA - either good or nothing (at least while they don't try to spread FUD about IOTA).

i don't know if hashgraph is competition, but they announced some kind of public ledger (https://www.hederahashgraph.com/) instead or next to their permissioned ledgers.

This is an interesting blogpost from Dan Hughes (the lead developer of Radix) writing about why DAG coins (like Byteball) will not scale.

https://www.radixdlt.com/post/dags-dont-scale-without-centralization

Byteball is named in only one sentence and it concludes that Byteball (and Iota) are not very censorship resistant.

"At present, the only way for a DAG to guarantee against double spending and 34% attacks is with the aid of a centralized authority. Byteball, another DAG, has 12 ‘Witness Nodes’ and IOTA has ‘The Coordinator’. These tools mean that the networks are not censorship resistant and that, should the centralized authority be compromised, the network would be vulnerable to an attack from the centralized state itself."

Tonych could you enlighten us about this vulnerability about being censhorship resistance?

I follow both projects and would love to see a reaction from CFB.

Economic Clustering paper is not ready yet, so I can't share my reaction while backing my words. I'm afraid you have to wait for a while.

That is great to hear CFB i am looking forward to it.

Do you have any thoughts on Hashgraph?

Cheers!

Hi all,
Did you guys see the blogpost of Dan Hughes (Fuserleer on bitcointalk and lead developer of radix) about why DAG based coins will not scale without centralisation.

It is an interesting read. I follow both projects and would love to see a reaction from CFB.

https://www.radixdlt.com/post/dags-dont-scale-without-centralization

Dan is not talking about hashgraph, but maybe someone with technical knowledge could say something about that too.

Cheers!

http://www.tangleblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/letters.pdf

I read the leaked emails between the iota team and DCI.

I try to make a summary of the 124 pages of emails:
DCI: hey i found some vulnerabilities in iota.
IOTA team: thanks for telling us. What is the weakness?
DCI: something with curl (don't roll your own, not peer reviewed, cryptography!).
IOTA team: thanks, we were planning to change it to Keccak. How were you planning to attack iota based on the vulnerability?
DCI: don't know, i am busy right now. When are you going to take care of the vulnerability?
IOTA team: wait let's get the facts straight and analyze your attack.
DCI: Trust me it is not done to roll your own cryptography (no go).
IOTA team: ok, but what about the attack?
DCI: You fixed the vulnerability not? so we can publish our findings, you can read the attack in publication.
IOTA team: How about us responding to the attack? We still think an attack would not be successful.
DCI: We are done with you, don't insult us. We are going to publish.

IOTA and GBYTE are the only 2coins that using blockless technology on the market right now, am I right, guys?
IOTA has no transaction fee, does the GBYTE?
I'm a fan of IOTA, but wanna know more about GBYTE.
Cry, miss the day that GBYTE price = 0.33btc

There is another competitor NANO (formerly Raiblocks) which uses the Tangle technology. Byteball has very low transaction fees.

It seems you don't have any GByte yet when you don't know about it, right? Then I wonder why you are missing the day when 1 GByte was 0.33 BTC, you have the chance to buy Byteball very cheap now.

Maybe you can add hashgraph, although they dont have a coin (yet).

There's a 3rd reason for that patent that everyone misses...it's called a pinch, and is probably the most important of the 3.

Assume that our patent ISN'T granted.

Later some bank, or corporation, files a patent that infringes on our tech, and it DOES get granted.  It happens, maybe they worded something slightly differently, had better lawyers due to more money, etc

Then they decide "Hey, lets go sue those Radix guys and destroy the business they have built, cus, y'know, we own their tech now!"

So they come along with a law suit and they have us dead to rights...

But they don't, we can show our patent submission and it's refusal.  So if we really are infringing on their patent, then our patent should have been granted as it has an earlier date and theirs should have been refused.

Law suit dismissed!

With so many banks and corps filling patents and getting them granted, with tech that is arguably public domain in some cases, it made total sense as a defense.

I don't know why so many people have an issue with the patent, it's clearly defensive and allows us to monetise the tech to continue development long term from private licenses, regardless of the open source status for public, non-profit deployments.

Why are you giving this example? Although you say 'assume it isnt granted' i am confused. The radix technology is patented not?

Good morning,

I am searching for the following “token distribution” data:

Initial number of tokens: token distributed straight after the ICO? I found the number 999,999,999... is that correct? Or was it just proposed number and final number is higher?

Circulating: token in circulation now? Can I rely on data from CMC? In many cases number from there differs from official source once I contact them directly.

Total: total amount of token (maximum supply - burnt tokens)? Is following correct... 2779530283277761?

Also, can you please advise how much money in USD was raised during crowdsale?

I looked all over internet and your official channels to find those stats but it doesnt seem to be out there.

Many thanks,
Pete

Post about changing the supply:

https://forum.iota.org/t/iota-tech-update/264

according to icostats.com USD $ 434.511,- was raised during ico.
