In theory it could only end if people no longer wished to exchange Bitcoin for goods or services or crypto or other fiat currencies

iOS app, android soon, coinexchange today, eltcard (for spend tokens) coming... more coming

Yes, yes... but what's the point?

Apps are pointless, exchanges come and go and ultimately they mean really nothing and a currency-specific card is total meh because the last thing I need is more cards to keep track on. So, what's the actual point of this token?

Sorry if I sound like a naysayer, I'm actually really happy with how the token is performing, and if this keeps up ELT might be the first one I'm really going to cash out for something other than basic lifestyle things, but I still don't understand why there should be any value here at all.

Hey SonofNorth,

We really appreciate the feedback and thanks for checking out ELTCOIN. We pride ourselves on not trying to re-invent the wheel, but taking existing experiences on Ethereum and making them much more user-friendly (and adding our own touch of cool Cool).

That being said, we have huge ambitions and some secret projects under wraps...These projects will exclusively stake ELTCOIN and we believe that they will keep our Community HODLing for many years to come.

Value is driven by belief, and we really and truly believe ELTCOIN can change the world. But this can only happen with our Community's support. That's why we place Community at the center of our universe...they are what drive us to keep building and improving every single day.

ELTCOIN will always be a Coin by, and for it’s Community.

I am not long term as bullish on bitcoin than I am Ethereum. This is mainly due to Bitcoin's scalability issue.

More of a PR move to attract interest/investment regionally within Switzerland (to be competitive with Zug) but found it interesting that you can pay a portion of your taxes using Bitcoin in Chiasso: https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/swiss-fintech_chiasso-accepts-tax-payments-in-bitcoin/43503464

I hope to one day afford a luxury purchase with my cryptocurrency holdings. Right now my target is a lamborghini.

Full disclosure I think other people might have this issue too so I've been building a marketplace for them here 👉www.moonlambos.io.

Still in beta, but helping people liquidate their Bitcoin into lamborghinis with a US-based dealer Cool

Re: [2017-11-02] Banks staying away from bitcoin 'bubble' due to money laundering
by
augmentedinvestor
on 12/11/2017, 02:24:28 UTC
In my opinion, scare-mongering at its finest through confounding the issue. Writing off Bitcoin for money-laundering is contradictory coming from banks.

But I can also understand from the bank's perspective that they need to release news like this to create perception that they are doing everything they can to avoid being associated with money-laundering because almost all banks fall susceptible to it in some way and potential fines/shareholder value is on the table.

Good question that I want to know answer to as well. Seems like Fidor might be an option but EUR/Sepa conversion factors into the equation.

Re: where do I place 100k?

Firstly this depends on your risk tolerance. Without understanding more specifics behind the case (your investment knowledge, trading ability, etc) I would say at a high level best to diversify across a basket of the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

ICOs are exciting, but it is still a nascent territory and you need organizational timing (ensuring you are whitelists), smart execution (selling out of your positions) and be spread across a number of bets (diversification) to make it pay off. Also there is uncertain regulatory and tax compliance risk, depending on your jurisdiction.

Hope this is somewhat helpful, given the limited information you provided Wink
