Generally, the price and the difficulty are so strongly linked that a rising difficulty causing a higher price, or a lower price can drive the difficulty down. Halving the block rewards would probably just halve the hash rate.

The "official" pool finally paid out for me, just had a couple of hours delay. Sticking with minep.it from here on in, it seems to be working well.

Its just someone putting a massive price on their coins, it only shows because there aren't many sell orders.

The dev is being tight lipped about it until he confirms some details with the rest of the team, but he did suggest an announcement will be coming soon (hours rather than days) - the only clue he gave was that it would help decentralize the network and add some optional anon features. Wait and see I guess.

I must admit MantisWeb has me intrigued - I am looking forward to more details. Might be too soon to call it, but this coin does seem to be breaking from the trend of new coins pushing nothing but "anon" as their selling point.
