Gracias.

Bitcoin currently costs around $300k per day or $9m per month to stay healthy
This will be very difficult to sustain long term, unless fiat currencies crash.

Ummm. $300k per day ? It's no money. Not difficult at all.

There is a big difference between btc and LR, one is the visible head of a technology and philosophy and the other one is simply a business.
I don't care about LR, but if they crack down into cryptocurrencies maybe is time to start to fight for our rights. Because there is no way I'm gonna allow anyone to rule my life. Or crypto, or dead.

And who is to say this might not happen again, but for instance with "Bitcoin is illegal and it's dead"? Remember that those sentiments only are created once the price has already fallen for a longer time. Bitcoin was only declared dead by Wired near its very bottom at 2.

I'm willing to bet that we are going to see 4 digits within a few years, but boy, do most of the newcomers here have unrealistic expectations.

Here's a bottleneck for you "singularity" guys that ultimately limits the height of parabolic rises: Infrastructure. Remember when MtGox had an order queue of up to 75 minutes filled with market sells? Think this can't happen again in some other variation? Think again.

Fucking right.  Grin

GNU/Linux sucks as desktop, and I think is getting worse with the time. I remember using Debian and KDE like 5 or 6 years ago as the main desktop OS. Today ? No way.
It's good for developing/sysadmin/etc using some good wm like i3. But for desktop if you're an average Joe ? No way. Right now I'm using Windows 8 and I wouldn't change it, GNU/Linux just make me very improductive.
Obviously, I have some tools in cygwin, and some distributions in vmware if I need something, but that's like.. 20% of the day ?

Bitcoin killer ? If they control it, no, never. A bitcoin killer is a currency that is anonymous, faster, with less overhead, and better crypto.

How does anybody need a license to transfer money period. At this point you basically can't do business without transferring money.
FinCEN requirements, by my understanding, are concerned primarily with businesses which transfer money on behalf of other parties. If Alice transfers money to Betty to pay her for goods or services, neither Alice nor Betty is an MSB from FinCEN's point of view. But if you add an intermediary (let's call her Catherine) who takes money from Alice and gives it to Betty, and does that sort of thing commerically, then Catherine is an MSB and subject to regulation (because if Catherine wanted, and didn't have anyone watching, it'd be easy for her to hide questionable money in the cloud of transfers which she manages).
Still stupid, unnecessary snooping.

This is enlightening:

For me It looks like.. Goverment is a big pile of shit. Good post, sad one anyway.
