Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining

Finally put my code up on github.

https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer

I'm looking for suggestions or ideas. Groestl-Hash seem to be the deal breaker right now. It's taking up as much time as all other 5 hashes combined. Any speed up for Groestl would be a win. Currently the V1 release confuses the compiler slightly less and is a smidgen faster. However I think this code is currently the best option for speeding up beyond that. It's still around twice as fast as the default miner.

Added bonus, almost everything for quark now fits a single function. While it won't fit on a GPU until the code size is reduced and memory is shrunk, it's just yet. Consider this my last update for cpuminer.

I wrote this cause I'm greedy, and so I leave my tipjar.
BTC: 1DaSUSqcr13G4QJYamsecW6yHh95QTT39R
QRK: QQRNpg7aGHcvgEFvXEk1DoCtLydboVsAzf

Is this faster than the other quarkcoin cpuminer?

By a long shot, yes. I get an 85% speedup from using it.

So do you know how to solo mine with that miner?

No, this is not a new qt wallet, only a standalone miner that mines more efficiently than the miner built into the qt wallet. You keep your current qt wallet application and wallet.dat file the same.

See this thread for using the miner on the p2pool:

http://forum.quarkcoin.org/Thread-Quark-Mining-Pool-Creation-Needed?pid=74#pid74

It's basically:
Code:
minerd_xyz.exe [b]-a quark[/b] -t -o http://176.221.46.81:8372 [b]-u [/b]

This pool takes cucrrently 3% fee, which you can verify yourself:
http://176.221.46.81:8372/fee

Please also inform you about how p2pool works, esp about that fake difficulty:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool#Payout_logic
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool#Frequently_Asked_Questions

----snip---

Putting the hash_init-stuff outside of the loop isn't gaining anthing in cpuminer Sad

Anyone able to get payout from this pool?

My shares has not been get paid so far.

About 5000 blocks away from reward halving (about 1.7 days).

Hashing difficulty around 100.

Wait, some said there are 3 weeks ahead to rewards to be halved. But now 1.7 days?

Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin
by

any future in this at all or is this a pipe dream?

Isn't every get rich quick a pipe dream?

2 days at most of GPU coin hoarding for all the rig ownders, then back to even fewer XPM and inflated price, subsequently we'll see dumps around 0.01 to 0.015 mark and back down to 0.007 level and stable for months.

It happened already that price jumped on to 0.015 levels and did back down to 0.007-0.008 where it's been stabilized since then.

Volume's been low today. Considering the historical trends (1 week  Grin) i expect a big jump or a slump in high volumes. Place your bets.

It's a pure luck. Expect 1 block every 2 to 4 days, i'd say.

Wow..everyone told me not to bother mining with an Intel Celeron processor yesterday. At 900 PPS, I found a block since yesterday. Hah...What luck... Cool

Was that using 64 bit high performance mod?

What is the 64 bit high performance mod. And how do you get 900 PPS with a celeron when I only get 1250 pps with an i5?

Should I be modifying the config files with my 127.0.0.1 and all that to point the miner at my wallet or does that happen automatically?

Edit: found 64bit high performance. I set the qt to mine and I get 0 pps. WTF?

Edit: Nevermind, fixed.

What is 64bit high performance? Is that of intel or sunny king or mikhael's rebuild?

Re: [ANN] WorldCoin WDC | Coin of the Future | Instant Transactions | Launched
by
aymar_est
on 24/05/2013, 19:09:17 UTC
Why nearly all miners think only about himself with a timeframe of 10 seconds? Don't you see a little longer in the future? If we want this coin to grow we must act as a community, protecting the coin and helping growing it up.
Here is my personal list of things to do to support WDC and help it to not fail (it's our interest, right?):

  • Don't dump your mined coin immediately, if you're smart and believe in this coin you have to mine and don't waste WDC you generate at lower and lower prices. If we'll work well then, in months, WDC will maybe be exchanged at a much higher value. Then you can begin selling them, not all togheter.
Think about first people who believed in bitcoin and mined more than a bitcoin a day... If they sold them immediately like you're doing now... Miner that had a believe in bitcoin now are nearly rich!
  • WDC must be used for real world transactions, if this will not be true in the near future the coin will be dead. It must have a real value. Now all people mine and sell WDC for BTC, this is what will get the price to drop. All who can help (developers!) are welcome to build smartphone apps and all kind of software that can help real world operation with this coin.
  • Set a donation to pool operator, expecially when it ha 0% fee like worldcoinpool.com (pool operators work much and have expenses.... Who likes to work for nothing???). Donating we are supporting their work
and chances that they continue doing it is higher

Let's grow WorldCoin! Don't sell all WDC you're generating! Or if you do set a high price... Wink

Well, if those miners are willing to dump as soon as they generate, i gladly accept to buy as much as i can

I guess it doesnt worth to use it for mining, considering the power consumption and hash speed
