Everyone, please check your miner is actually connected to Eligius.
It seems there are some MITM attacks going on to redirect Eligius miners to another pool Sad
Do you know which pool, or at least an IP address? It'd be interesting to try and tie the pool-in-the-middle to a reused generation address.
Redirected clients show "Connected to 46.28.205.80..." in the miner.
This seems to be a scrypt "Worldcoin" mining server, and it seems likely they are just automatically MITM'ing any stratum connections they can inject into, regardless of the destination pool.

So it's not just you but a number of different pools that all have the same problem? Or is it a stratum problem that is pool agnostic?

It's definitely a localized problem.  I've yet to see a single report of it on BTC Guild.  It *did* happen to ScryptGuild at the same time as CleverMining a few months back, but the number of users affected was so low I believe it was local malware.  If it's some kind of ARP poisoning to intercept the traffic, that's possible (ScryptGuild is run out of OVH, while BTC Guild is not run in a shitty datacenter like that).

It is not a stratum bug, that much is absolutely certain (there's no way to relay messages to an independent stratum connection).  It is using a stratum method (client.reconnect) to perform the attack though, and make it so once the connection does have the message injected (how that's done I still have no damn clue), the client connects directly to "evilserver.com".

Geee thanks for letting us know how awesome BTC Guild is!

I have a nice strait graph and constant hash speed for the last few days since my last change, so its clearly not pool wide.

Welcome back, so ummm do you know if NMC payments are working I haven't gotten any since 3/8/2014......

   Grin

For some reason the side Namecoin mining appears to have stopped about a month or so ago...has merged Namecoin mining been disabled?

Last I heard they got hacked (or, at least, noticed suspicious activity) and temporarily shut down NMC.

There was a bug in some old stats code that allowed some SQL injection to the web stats (fixed here) and someone used it to mess up the web server side copy of the My Eligius data.  The pool servers were in no way affected by any of this.  The web server, by definition, is considered insecure and not able to affect pool operations.  Everything pulled from the webserver (signatures for options) is re-verified on other servers.  So, even if an attacker were actually able to compromise the web server (which they didn't) it wouldn't have any real effect.

The NMC payout code runs on another server, pulls this data, reverifies the signatures, and then pays out the proper amount of NMC.  The issue was that my code for re-verifying the signatures was broken and I didn't realize, so, one set of payouts got messed up and used corrupt data.  I fixed the stats bug, fixed any broken options from the previous day's backup, and am in the process of completely rewriting and testing the NMC payout code.

My time has been extremely limited.  Combine that with battling constant DDoS attacks against the pool for nearly a week now and I hope you can understand why this isn't quite complete yet.  I am working on it, haven't forgotten about it, and it will get done.  Also, when I do make the next NMC payout it will include backpay from the last valid payout (Mar 8th I believe off the top of my head) to the next valid payout.  The pool is still mining NMC for you guys and everyone will be paid their NMC.

No offense to anyone, but I have been ignoring most questions about whats going on about NMC (via PM, email, IRC, etc) just because answering the same question 1000x is a waste of time I should be using to actually work on the problem.

Stay tuned.  I'm hoping to have it done today, but no promises.

It's nice to be back Eligius thread. It's as though I never left (that's meant both positively and wryly at the same time - some of you are very funny [see post directly above], and I enjoy the banter... the whining is always a downer, though).

I am trying to change the default payout and it doesn't seem to be taking, I set it for .1 and on the right pane it still shows the standard default and time frame. I tried setting it to the minimum, below default and the same thing. Left it there for a bit and it seems no pay out was initiated. If one were to want to withdraw all coins regardless of the amount, above minimum, how would they go about this?

Thanks for reading.

Did you use the your BTC address to sign the message allowing the changes to be saved?

Quote right from the page:
"You must use a bitcoin client which supports standard signatures for your mining address to sign options!"

I would guess you didn't read the entire page.

Are there problems with NMC payouts?  I've been mining at a good clip for a week now and I haven't seen a single NMC payout.  Yes, I configured the NMC address.

A problem with the NMC system was discovered a week or so ago, if you read back in this thread wizkid addresses the issue. Basically payments are on hold until he can get the system fixed. For more info read back a bit.

Not really sure why they're being so persistent with so little success.  They need a target with much less security... something like the NSA.

"The data on this page is cached and updated periodically, generally about 30 seconds for the short-timeframe hashrate numbers, balances, and rejected shares data; and about 675 seconds for the graphs, longer-timeframe hashrate numbers, and other datas."

BTW, Wiz, its data not datas.

I kinda like the ring of datas in that sentence Grin

Not sure if its related but I haven't gotten a nmc payout since the 8th. Also my min payout amount was changed from .1 to .03. I can tell you for sure that I did not change my min payout since I haven't opened my bitcoin wallet in weeks so I haven't been signing messages.

If its any help wizkid I can get you my address i use to mine to check logs etc.

EDIT - I also had set donation amounts and they also changed to 0.0.

So here is my challenge to all the the members of the FSA (free shit army). Mine for Wizkid for a day I just set an Antminer to following
eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1EdeTHebTtymUULE5bdjWzW1gbCJkP7aQH

Do the same, show that you support Eligius and show the others that greed won't be tolerated.

+1 Antminer put there for time being.
Greed is not tolerated.

ps. i hope you got the address right.

Thank you! My faith in humanity is coming back Grin

Sex and HDx let's see some love... we're waiting Huh

I'm just small time but I pointed one of my 9 port USB hubs with block erupters (3 gh/s ish) at that address. I know its not much but its a fair part of what I have.

I got my first miner about 3 days before the big outage last month and have been very very happy with this pool and wizkid! Sack up guys and point some miners!

I have only been in the game for a few weeks and started with only 9 Block erupters. I now have over 25Gh/s in ant miners and planning to break 200Gh/s soon.

I used Eligius from day one and its been great! 0% fee pool and its a merged mining pool so you can get BTC and NMC (name coin) at the same time.

Just my 2 BTC  Smiley
