Topic OP
Lost Clore during the FLMN hack can someone help me trace the coins
by
babymethyl2013
on 19/02/2024, 13:52:33 UTC
I own the address: APoMJPP5tyZrv2QyzC1UmqJ9gZZKutCRtY

The stolen coins were moved to: AWACwvh5V8QYb3ctqdaJZMyt2J41eSQJev

TxID: d647e6338b0c4ce9c38e8d6df294ebfbbe4cea5de6b7fafc1e67be14654c07c1

They ultimately ended up on a Xeggex address after washing through 3-4 burner addresses. Can someone confirm this or direct me to a tool that's good for blockchain tracing.

Re: Unraveling the Bitmain Antminer X5: A Deep Dive into the New Monero Mine
by
babymethyl2013

Gives me flash backs to when Bitmain released the Antminer X3 for XMR for 20,000 USD.

Once the XMR community found out they changed the algo right away and bitmain had to start giving "bonus units" to the original people that got the X3 to compensate them. Eventually, all the coins that used cryptonight had a hard fork and these things were useless for years until Dynex was cryptonight for a month and they were extremely profitable.

as the story continues there were then many variants of cryptonight that were made like CnV2, V3 ect....there was always a rumor that the X3 was also customizable and programable (almost like a cryptonight FPGA) certain people figured out how to make it also mine the variants. this rumor was never confirmed but eventually the devs released RandomX which was originally pioneered by pascal coin with them creating RandomHash algo.

here's my guess:
This is going to be a highly customizable CPU miner that will be able to account for XMR devs doing any form of algo changing. Kinda like how the X3 was rumored to be able to do this.

Anyone else remember the Antmner X3 release fiasco??

Re: What are your thoughts on Proof of Useful Work (PoUW)?
by

POuW requires GPUs with good processors and ram with many lanes and usually 8x to 16x PCIe bus speeds.

It makes me wonder how things like dynex are real with all the GPUs are on 1x speeds.

The "POuW" stuff people actually pay for like on vast.ai are very expensive.

Isn't most Ai written for CUDA? Therefore NVidia has a monopoly on it in the Ai scene. AMD would need to create their entire version of something CUDA like and then try to steal market share when NVidia is known for the currently hyped ChatGPT.

AMD seems really behind. They would almost have to create something better than CUDA.

Does anyone know at what point Moore's law will come into effect and they won't be able to make the nM count smaller? So far smallest I have heard of in 2nM. Is that it for a while after they make 2nM?

All the new coins pumping this round Nexa, Radiant, Dynex, and kaspa have one thing in common....they are being mined by FPGAs and the people mining it are the same ones pumping the price.

All of these algos are "unique" and that's right they are!....they are unique and the Devs and backers to the coins have had the bitstreams required to mine them since day 1. The few coins GPU miners get and sell are their costs to pump. They make money from the non-miners and Binance degens they suck in from all the youtube "MaKe 100x ToDaY"

Re: Why buy old ASICS?

Someone just dumped a bunch of antminer x3s on ebay. scooped up as many as i can in case cryptonight coins make a run in a heavily regulated market.
Cryptonight coins? They are almost all dead 🤣😅🤣 the few ones that remain are Dero, Loki, havven, turtle coin, I mined cryptonight coins since 2017 and 90% of them died, it was a painful experience for me.

Worked out for me real well...Dynex launched as cryptonight original and I just happened to be around to see them and started mining it with all those X3s I got for 20 $$ off ebay. The first day of mining 1 X3 made 6k coins...I soon had my army of 15 of them going. that month was the best mining season of my life. I still have a ton of them for when it runs to 1$.

For anyone looking for a time stamp post of someone making a bet, then having someone say they will be wrong, only for the original person to be right....scroll up and read my post from early 2022 about me buying old asics as a speculative play with the intention of some coin launching.

Dynex lunched cryptonight and I made a ton of money. each miner I bought was 20$$ with shipping...don't believe me go look at the sale history of X3s in early 22.
Asic Bitmain Antminer X3 (220Kh) is powered by CryptoNight algorithm and Dynex changed the algorithm to DynexSolve at the end of 2022. If you are lucky enough to use Antminer X3 competently, then we are happy for you. But this is very difficult to guess and there are risks of mining a worthless coin.

I will admit I got lucky but that is the nature of this thread.......I remember I had to scramble to buy a bunch of the power supplies. If I had had all the power supplies on hand day 1 I would have even more of them....I remember my farm of 15 of them was pulling a ton of power. I got lucky it was in the fall and not summer or temps would have been to high.

my main reason for buying the X3 was it was the most developed asic for that algo ever (cryptonight original) and development stopped right after XMR hard forked. I knew there was no risk of there being some secret asic out there because development on the algo truly stopped in 2018 because all incentive stopped and asic development is very expensive.

The Antminer X3 originally retailed for 11k...That price soon dropped and "bonus units" were given to the early 11k  buyers that were mad once XMR said the would hardfork the algo in a month(hence the rise of XMC by bitmain) but the asic was still very expensive. all buyers of the X3 lost big in the same way people did with the Dash antminer D3 BUT that algo still has active development and coins.

What asic could have another speculative run? The antminer B7 which fits the same criteria above.

Re: Putting a Bounty on a Modified Version for RandomX (AntMiner)
by
babymethyl2013
on 27/02/2023, 01:40:54 UTC
You should post this topic in the Altcoin Mining section, RandomX has nothing to do with BTC and SHA256.

I didn't find any mention to RandomX in your first link?
I only looked very briefly, maybe I'm wrong but I don't want to waste my time to be honest, I appreciate any form of reverse engineering but when it comes to RandomX it's still a big waste of time so far.

In my opinion you can't start with an ASIC SHA256 and make it mine RandomX which is ASIC-resistant as well.

A few years ago I was in contact with a guy from Russia. He was sending videos to all his contacts to show that he managed to mine RandomX with an Antminer X3 with a really impressive hashrate. He claimed to have modified the firmware, and show workers pages with crazy hashrate on MoneroOcean pool.

The reality was that it was a fake, that the guy was just editing videos and never made it. I think in real life he never really tried to be honest.
He disappeared overnight and then we found out from a third party that this guy was just using a huge amount of botnets, and he was trying to sell his so-called "custom firmware" for Antminer X3 to inexperienced newbies.

That's the whole point of RandomX, to be ASIC resistant, and if a flaw had been found, I think we'd all know about it.

PS : Goodluck to try to give motivation to developpers with a Bounty you don't even give the amount

Did anyone ever manage to get the X3 to mine cryptonight variants? CNv2 there was a similar video on YouTube showing something similar with the X3 mining XMR after it had changed algos before randomX

I imagine it was also fake?

Already dominated by FPGAs. this was only good money when it was cryptonight(ASICs) for a month and a half.

The antminer X3 was earning 5.00$ a day on here for a while.

DYNEXSOLVE IS THE ONLY CURRENT MINER FOR DYNEX COIN (DNX)--

There may be a coin in the past that you are confusing with Dynex Coin (DNX).  The DNX coin is in no way based on a cryptonight algorithm.       --scryptr

Not true. They were cryptonight original(yes asic mined on the X3) for like 1.5 months. people made bank and left. I still have a nice bag if it ever scam pumps on some binance listing for "ItS AbOuT TeH Ai BrO" as that seems to be the direction POW will (have to)  take.

Can someone please make another cryptonight coin? There were bankrupt miners in Porto Ricco selling them for 20$ with shipping last year. If you were lucky you scooped up an entire X3 mining farm for next to nothing. The speculation paid off.

Re: Graphics cards are flooding the market
by
babymethyl2013
on 04/05/2022, 00:46:54 UTC
Lol I still want me some 580s graphic cards with 8GB memory, till date people are still buying this gpu for mining ETH and its been like 6 years already that this card have been here, oh I remember 2016/2017 a rx580 was on of the best for crypto mining at the time, anyway I believe something new will come up, its only a matter of time.
I will never buy video cards that old or that inefficient, regardless of the price. RX 5700 / RTX 2070 is the lowest I will go in efficiency. My RX 400/500 cards earned a lot of money back in the day, but it's time to move on.

then after a few monthly "green candles" it is back to 3 year ROI and then 1 year ROI..then retards panic buys the shit out of GPUs again hehe.
It is debatable whether or not there will be a 'next big GPU coin' after ETH. If not, then the return is 20-40% per year provided you bought the cards for half of MSRP. If there is, then people who built GPU farms during the bear market for $400 per RTX 3080 will sell that RTX 3080 for $1000+, not to mention 300-600% ROI on the coins they mined at low diff and saved up. On top of that, they will make 100-300% ROI during the gold rush. So in total, that could be 5-10x your money back over 3-5 years.

That is why I'm happy to invest $100k+ in a warehouse GPU farm again when the time comes.

It won't play out this way again it never does
