I dont think that whales profit more than regular people as a %. Of course they might profit more in absolute terms, but then again they loose more when it dumps. Whales dont know what the market will be tomorrow too, but they are probably whales because they learned to be patient. So everyone can become a whale with the right moves and attitude.

It helps reducing barriers between developed and developing countries. Imagine all the funds that can move to poor countries without hefty fees on the way. Thats a game changer and enables many people the access to digital funds without going through the problems regarding bank accounts in such regions. So yes, I definetely see it benefitial for the economy even now (only as a money transfer)

In Austria you dont pay taxes if you hold them longer than 1 year. As I dont plan to trade but hold, I dont need to pay any special taxes for it
I believe its the same for germany.

I can not speak about Bitcoin itself, but blockchain wont be banned for sure. I am not aware of a single technology that got banned successfully. There might be temporary hurdles but tech is always here to stay. Its the use cases that get banned or supported
