sold coins to Coinbase but no deposit into my account
by
baggage
on 05/01/2015, 18:57:01 UTC
I sold coins to Coinbase on Dec 29th.  The responded that my cash would be deposited into my account on Jan. 2nd, 2015.

It's now Jan 5th and still no deposit into my bank account.   Anyone else experience this with Coinbase.

I've sold coins to them before with no problem.

Cold storage to Coinbase?
by
baggage
on 26/08/2014, 17:57:02 UTC
Hello-

I was wondering how I get coins out of my cold storage paper wallet to Coinbase.  Can I send them straight to Coinbase or
do I need to bring them on line to another wallet first? What particular steps should be taken?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks!

Ummno. Too many big investors got their eyes on bitcoin now. I say 10k. At least. No, it's not wishful thinking. It's fact.  Shocked

May I ask who these big investors are and what they are waiting for?

How do I confirm my email is linked to my bit coin address
by
baggage
on 14/02/2014, 00:48:21 UTC
I ordered some items from Overstock.com this morning, but I entered the wrong amount of bitcoin to pay for it.

A rep from Overstock says they have to reimburse me the bitcoin so I can start the order over, and they want me
to verify my email with my wallet address.

Can anyone explain how I do this?  Any help is very appreciated.

Thank you.

Private Keys vs. password
by

When Bitaddress generates your private keys for an offline paper wallet,  is that your only password (the private keys) or is there any other reason to
invent a password for the paper wallet?

Re: My Paper Wallet confusion
by
baggage
on 30/11/2013, 21:56:04 UTC
I generated a paper wallet at Bitaddress and sent my bit coin to it.  It says I can check it's balance by going to the block chain and entering the new address.

When I do that I get "first bits not found."   So how does one go about checking to see if the bit coin is there?

Are you sure you're entering the full (33-34 characters, starts with '1') address at blockchain.info?

Thank you, that be it.

One more question: Bitaddress generated my private keys, but do I not need to invent a password as well or is my private keys my password?

bitaddress questions
by

To get this out of the way:  I don't know what I'm doing.

I watched a tutorial on how to make a cold storage paper wallet from Bitaddress.

Seems pretty simple, but because I'm unsure of many things I was hoping someone can clarify some steps in the creation
of a cold storage paper wallet.

1) why is it generating 7 wallets when I just want one? Is this just an option or is it saying I'd be foolish to just have one??

2) Once I create the offline wallet on Bitaddress, do I now send coins from other wallets to the new Bitaddress?  if so, I don't understand how coins can be sent to a wallet that is "offline."   What am I missing here?

3) The tutorial says it will generate my private keys for me. Does this mean I don't have to come up with my own password, or is there another step that wasn't explained int the tutorial?

4) On the Bitaddress website it says I can check my balance on the block chain by using my address.  So I don't need a password to look at my balance?

5) I heard a rumor that Macs aren't safe to generated wallets on. Is this true?

Really appreciate anyone's help with these questions.  Thank you!

Re: Minimum amount of bit coin needed

if we get to 10,000 - I guess 100 would be nice, but i don't know if that would even be considered "wealthy" at this point in history....

I guess I should clarify what wealth means to me.  I've never made more than 35k in a year in my life and have sizable debt from student loans.

I just want to own a house in a nice neighborhood to raise my kids and not have any debt or worry about a mortgage.

So I consider 500k-700k wealthy.

Lets say I had a couple million in bitcoin (I wish) and wanted to cash out (I wouldn't yet.)

How would I do it? What it the best method?  I keep hearing it's difficult and that there is a long wait time to
get your cash. I know nothing about this but interested in being enlightened.

To reach 100,000 would probably require widespread use as a global payment system.

Not to disagree but what would keep this from happening?

Re: Why bitcoin will hit 100000$/BTC in 2014. My conspiracy theory
by

It won't hit 100k in 2014.

Lower your expectations, you'll be less disappointed when things don't go your way.

Slow, steady rise is the best. I'd love if the price would settle around this level. 600-700.

That's amazing rise from previous ATH and good floor for future rise.

I agree with this, but does anyone see 50k/bitcoin in the next couple years?

Or is it just a few who believe it will go this high and... is there any experienced traders on here who are long bitcoin but
think anything between 10k and 50k is ridiculous?
