Do you think it's possible for a new project without any initial source of funding (no ICO or anything like that) to make it?  Back at the start of crypto, it seems like it was possible for a project to be successful if there was a good idea to build upon since there weren't many other projects around.  These days, there are thousands of projects.  How can a newcomer get noticed?

Why should I invest in ODIN?  Aren't there other messengers out there already?  I'm not trying to fud, just trying to understand what sets ODIN apart from other similar projects.

The more new coins that are present in the crypto market, will certainly enliven the crypto world. My question is how do you look at the future of the altcoin, with fairly tight competition. Will it affect the price of old altcoins, such as Ethereum, XRP and others.
I still believe in altcoin that has been in this market before. The newly created altcoin in the last 2 years is just a scam and I can't afford to invest in it. XRP XLM ETH are the best altcoin and there will be no new altcoin that can compete

I agree with you on that point.  One of the good things about "older" altcoins is that it's much easier to judge if they are scams or not.  If they are still around, chances are they are legit.  With the new batch of altcoins that are/will appear during this new bullrun, you just can't be certain until they have had a chance to proove themselves.

I like ODIN: https://odinblockchain.org/.  It's had some bad luck with the cryptopia hack, so it's having difficulty getting listed on bigger exchanges, but conversely it's still quite unknown.  I like that they have actually delivered a product (a privacy messenger with crypto wallet, no phone number required).  They have some other pretty good things, like a sweet swag shop: https://www.odinswag.com/ (3 moon mcafee anyone?).   The community is great, and there are weekly updates from the team.  It's a long shot, but at least they are doing stuff!

For a more established "altcoin" (token), I like MCO.  They have now release cards in the US, which is a big milestone.  The CEO is a complete dick, but they have the expertise to get cards with actual use to people around the world.  Lots of good perks, like free netflix, lounge access, very high cash back, perfect exchange rates, etc.  They have their own issues, just like all coins, but at least they have a huge competent team behind them (like 100 to 200 employees now).  With this token, I don't have to worry about the team having no devs, or funding, or any kind of resource, which seems to be the case for most altcoins.

A large ODIN coin burn was completed in November 2018, to ensure the fair distribution of coins via an airdrop to over 1000 community members. 15% of the ODIN coins were locked into a publicly viewable multisig wallet, and the following budget allocations were defined as an indication of the ethos and vision of the ODIN Blockchain. As Masternode Proposals are enabled on ODIN Blockchain, these coins are governed by the global decentralized ODIN Masternode operators community.

  • 20% Individuals and partners in education, research, and experimental development. For example, donations to universities, colleges and other educational establishments for use in research and development projects that use ODIN Technologies and/or extend on existing products and services.
  • 30% Non-profits, charities, and other good causes that align with the ODIN Ethos.
  • 10% Creation of original content, that helps to explain ODIN technologies for end users. Part of this will help form a knowledge base that people can use as a resource to learn about topics related to ODIN such as user privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, digital ledger technology, design principles, user experience design, prototyping, agile methodologies, and mobile app development.
  • 20% Community events and training workshops. This also includes webinars relating to technical topics around the ODIN frameworks and mobile apps as they are released.
  • 20% Community collaborators, and projects that bring value to the ODIN ecosystem.

Check out the flagship ODIN mobile app product, ODIN.CHAT

I'm interested in this messenger.  Do you need to provide your phone number to use it?
