Thanks! Confirming this works. Finally managed to get the 31.8 AUR
How secure is this against people trying to game the system?
This is the system the government uses for its services, and is run by a government agency, so it is a robust as you could expect from such a system. In order to use it you need to apply for a password through your online banking or through the mail. That is then tied to your kennitala. If you are abroad, you can get access through an Icelandic embassy. Alternatively you can use the chip on your debit card along with a smart card reader to sign in, or if you have a special smart SIM card on you phone, you can use that as well. People should be able to use this system to claim for their children as well.

Airdrop authentication through the National Registry now live
April 4th: Automatic checkpointing introduced. Update ASAP to v. 1.3.0.0
Does this update fix the KGW timewarp attack?
This does not explicitly deal with TW. That will require a hard fork that will be introduced at a later date.
This ensures that such an attack (and 51% attacks) will be rendered useless. But the network needs to update to 1.3.0.0 for the protection to work. Also gives us time to carefully think through any changes we make.

Every coin that uses KGW should apply the fix as well asap right?
Any idea if digishield or dgw (version2) are susceptible to the same exploit?
Every coin using 1 block retargeting should take note. BCX has correctly identified an attack vector that an attacker (like himself) with enough resources could exploit. We will indeed have to make appropriate changes in light of this.

Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland
There is some major P&D going on. Someone was pumping today with 35 BTC and guess what... As soon as he placed a buy order at 0.0082 someone dumped 35 BTC worth of aurora on him. Guy must have ripped his hair out. Same thing happed a bit later but with 25 BTC
I think it's the same person. I think he's selling to himself maybe? To flush out everyone. Make a scare.
Either that or two whales are fighting each other.
Major mind games AND/OR major whale chaos.
sell wall at 0.0068 (cryptsy) is slowly getting eaten. Was 35 BTC before, now 17. There seems to be quite some buying power.
Keen buyer with 121 BTC chewed up the sell orders between 0.0068-78
OT. I am wondering why the airdrop numbers have gone from the auroracoin.org page.

Well now this is over with. Took some time for KGW to normalize, since the previous blocks had such extreme blocktimes. A lot of blocks mined in the process.
Thanks to the miners who stuck with AUR.

Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland
This can mean many things... could be scamming involved could be just the Icelanders. I don't know to be honest.
Could someone from Iceland give an opinion as to wether it's believable that 5.63% (18,000) Icelanders claimed their coins (or had them claimed by a familiy member or friend).
AUR has been in the news, day after day. Iceland only has 2 channels that do news reports, and none of that 24/7 reporting you have elsewhere. There are 2 nightly 20 min news shows people watch at 18:30 and then 19:00.
This implies auroracoin is already more popular than bitcoin, with 1% adoption. The crypto war has been won today. Thanks Balduro. Great idea. Best wishes to you. Many people have ideas, a few get to work to make things happen. You are one of those rare individuals.
I don't think so. I think people are claiming coins with the vodafone database leaked late 2013... There is absoluletly 0 chance that 1% of the population got in 14 hours after the airdrop...
It will be trivial to poll the population to see the % of claims. I hope someone does that at some point.

Re: [ANN][AUR][MANDATORY UPDATE] Auroracoin - a cryptocurrency for Iceland
one question to balduro and others (about hard fork and the network difficulty)
what's the difficulty going to be after the hard fork at block 5400? is it going to be reset somehow and will be slowly rising (because of KGW), or will it continue with the difficulty -+ of block 5399? i'm just asking because of the constant "locks" of the network at some blocks, and that, if the diff is going to be lets say 4000 at block 5399 and the fork happens, it will not help much to speed up the network and transactions.. in my opinion.. and yes i know, the block time is going to be half the time it is now, but still...
thanks for the answer (hope i'm not asking a question, that was already answered somewhere in this thread)
The difficulty retarget will happen after every block after the fork.
