Thx again AussieSloth

So essentially if you buy $1000 of Electroneum paired with BTC and it goes up $1000 then you now have $2000.00 worth regardless of what happens with BTC BUT the paring shows if you would have been better or worse off buying BTC Huh

Thx very much indeed again for all you help.

Just out of interest why don t the exchanges put the USD price as well as the pairings price as surely it is hard to work out how your investment is doing in $ Huh

THANKYOU layout thats what I was getting at !!!!

If I buy a coin and it goes up in USD then it has gained value regardless of its value with BTC ??

So as an example I buy a coin for $100 and it goes up 100$ against the USD BUT goes down 20% against BTC - I have still made $ 100 Huh

Is that correct Huh

Thanks Aussiesloth - what I am struggling with is - " is my currency gaining value " - if its losing against BTC then how can it be uo in $ ??

Why then on most exchanges can you not buy Altcoins paired with USD Huh

Thats what I am not understanding ?? Say I want to buy Electroneum as an example - I am trying to buy it because I believe its a good project etc etc - I am not interested in BTC or how BTC will do compared to Electroneum but as it stands if Electroneum started gaining traction etc I would still lose money if BTC gained more traction Huh

Apologies again but what am I not understanding ??

If I buy ETC at $800 and it goes to $900 then I am $100 in profit - nothing to do with BTC Huh

So when you are buying an alt coin paired with BTC - you actually want you Alt coin to gain in value but BTC to lose value to get the maximum return ??

I'm sorry but it still doesn't make sense ??

Today as an example a coin was UP in $ but DOWN in BTC - surely if it has gone up in value then it would be " up " full stop ??

Is it because BTC has gone up more ??

Also can you still be in profit even though the pairing is in minus ??

Apologies for these questions but it really would be a huge help to me !!!

Many thanks indeed.

I see - so what happens to the bitcoin price is totally irrelevant ??

If your coin goes up in value then it means its worth more of a bitcoin and vice / versa ??

BUYING ALTCOINS WITH " PAIRINGS "

Guys

Apologies for my naivety on this subject but I really am struggling !!!!

More and more I want to buy coins with lower market caps that you can find on exchanges such as Cryptopia . Kucoin etc etc - I understand how to get the money onto the exchanges BUT what I am struggling with is VERY few of the alt coins are paired against USD - so you have to trade paired with ETH or most commonly BTC - what does this actually mean ??

Say I " Buy " the coin paired with BTC does that mean that if my coin goes UP in value but BTC goes up by more then I lose out ?? If my coin goes up but BTC goes down - does that mean I earn more money Huh

Apologies but as BTC is just SO volatile surely you can have a situation where your coin does well but you still lose money Huh

Any help anyone could give me really would be greatly appreciated !!!

Many thanks indeed.

When I say " hopefully " the point I was making that " hopefully " there is a long term.

I appreciate your view regarding the investment but I was prepared to invest that amount as I believed in the project.

For me - the obvious course of action would be to offer the opportunity for investors to get their money back who invested on the old terms who are not happy - am amazed that nobody else feels the same way in all honesty Huh

As someone who is VERY new to Crypto I have to say I have mixed emotions regarding this decision from UTRUST but surely they do have a VERY easy solution for the people that are complaining - why not simply offer the money back to the investors who invested on the basis of the original terms and now are not happy with the new ones Huh

I invested the full $10K to take advantage of the bonus purely because I thought it was an excellent product that solved a big problem - however they choose to raise the money from my point of view doesn't detract from this - put simply I still love the idea.

However - in NO other financial arena could a company behave in this way - you couldn't raise money on the basis that you were selling x amount of shares then towards the end say actually it is now for more or less ??

I am in it for ( hopefully !!! ) the long term and as I say how they raise the money really makes no difference to me but I do have a lot of sympathy for those investors who are not happy - just offer them the choice of their money back UTRUST which I am sure would only go to add more credibility to both you as a company and the project itself Huh

Many thx mate.

At present I am using UK bank transfer with " crypto mate " and as I say it is costing around 10%.

I can pay by card / bank transfer - whatever makes it cheaper ??

I have looked at exchanges like " Kraken " but it just seems a real dram funding you account in the first place Huh

Where would you recommend buying Bitcoin with UK transfer - I assume it would then work out cheaper and just exchange it for ETH Huh

Apologies - I think I put this post in the wrong forum to being with and it won't let me delete it !!!

Try again ...

Firstly , apologies if this has been covered before.

I am based in the UK and have started buying Ethereum - aside form the amazing timing of these purchases - i think EVERY coin I have bought has now of course dropped in value (!!!) how do I avoid the huge % buying costs ??

At the moment I currently use " cryptomate " - really professional / excellent service etc but it works out around 10% above the " spot " price taking everything into consideration.

I assume the most cost effective way is go direct to an exchange but it seems really difficult to actually get a decent amount of GBP on ?? Could some one point me in the right direction ??

Essentially I am trying to find the most cost effective way of buying a decent (£10K+ ) amount of Ethereum allowing for currency exchange etc.

Many thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.
