I would suggest removing the Banksy art since we are going with a new more general name now. If people could add their own artwork like you mention that would be the best

Definitely. We are finalizing the plans for our ad campaign for artists and we have a few other items in the works which we will be announcing shortly.


We have a placeholder logo that we have been using while we wait for the contest to conclude. We will have a new logo on Monday plus other announcements regarding the renaming.

Regarding the contest:

In order for this prize to be claimed we will require a proof of license for the use of that artwork. The license must also include relicensing rights since the logo must be licensed for use by the community. If this proof can not be provided the entry will be disqualified for not following the rules of the contest and we will choose from the runner-up entries.

We would like to bring this contest to it's conclusion so we can continue forward with these exciting times so the deadline for providing proof will be April 6th. If we have not received any response about this we will assume a forfeiture of the entry and choose from the runner-up entries.

Some controversy has entered our modest little contest...


ArtsyCoin is about cryptocurrency for artistry and a strong underlying philosophy in what we are trying to accomplish is fair compensation to artists for their work.

Before making final awards of prizes we are investigating further.

Although it is acceptable practice to modify existing artwork resulting in a new creative piece, according to the rules of the contest:

The winning entry must be licensed for open use by the community.

Although you may have the layered files this does not indicate licensing of the file if it is not your own creation.

By your own admission you did not create this logo but found it.


You also did not modify the file for your submission, you submitted the exact design as included in the template you reference.

The website under pic photos.net has been suspended.

The website gfxtra1.net does not provide clear licensing terms for content nor does it provide clear downloading for access to the file for reviewing the license.

The marketplace has not been publicly linked from the website yet so this is a pre-release to the community.

We welcome feedback and testing before we launch as we prepare for our promotional campaign. The plan is pretty much as mentioned previously. We will be making announcements and advertising across various social channels and other places where artists gather. We will be spreading the word about ArtsyCoin as well as the marketplace.

This will be a very exciting beginning to bringing artists together with people who appreciate art where they can exchange using ArtsyCoin

More news on the widget and other exciting developments are coming up.

We are completely in agreement about all of these things and they are in progress

We will be announcing the winners of the logo contest soon in addition to rolling out new software and services.

These things will help us move toward taking ArtsyCoin where it needs to go.
