23/11 test UPDATE (2)

Hi guys, I need some feedback on this version before I put it to the topic start. It adds quite some experimental features, so please let me know if it works ok for you or not.

https://mega.nz/#!nlRjQJQR!QSLT_LCz6JAeUdzX4vHtz2aI5Kr1i724TrZLLGaXzYk

Changes 23/11: (compared to 21/11)
- fast mining startup after changing settings / reboot (~19 seconds vs ~50 seconds in the previous firmwares). Safes you some time when experimenting with settings.
- adds the reboot on low hashrate option (checks every 2 minutes and kicks in when the hashrate is measured below 88% of the expected hashrate)
- ~ 1% improvement on effective average hashrate *jeeej*
- fixed flash upgrade speed to new versions
- added AUTO FAN profiles. The default profile is the one that's in since the start, the performance is more like the stock bitmain auto fan profile and the silent profile keeps things nice and quiet. Manual mode is for setting a static fan speed.

know issues:

- switching pools can sometimes cause the miner to wait for work for 10 seconds.

happy mining!

cheers for this!

Is it me the only one who is getting a lot of connection failed retry to connect in 20 sec?

All my miners started doing this, and my pool stats show 30% less hashrate like this.

Has anyone else experienced an issue with Claymore ZCash Miner v7.0 regarding only one of the GPU's working at half it's strength?

http://imgur.com/e9ufHz7

These three rigs are using all 480 8GB Sapphire Nitro+ cards.

All of the Sol/s is great except that one...

I have hard reset, checked all the cables, removed the overclock, and switched the bios yet nothing will budge it.

No matter what I do; I can't bring it up to speed. The lazy swine.

Does anyone have any suggests?

I had this issue at the beginning on 2 of my rigs too. As soon as I remote connected into them one of the GPUs started top mine only at half speed. After I disconnected and waited for 10-20 minutes everything was restored to the normal speed.

Anybody else having problems with their GPUs?

My R9 Fury X started behaving really strangely. It idles at 65C instead of 27, and as soon as I start mining/playing a game it starts overheating, and after a time the computer just stops.

My rigs are totally fine, but the thing why I think it is related to mining is because I was running 6.0 on my computer when it restarted for the first time (this morning) and since then I can not make it work again.

I tried with a different windows, and I got the same behaviour. Any ideas? (the GPU is still under warranty so I am not worried)
had a similar problem with one of my 480 after update to v7 I tried re installing the driver but no change, this one GPU just kept overhead but after a few restarts of the miner and hard reboot  problem rectified its self,as said check your fan and pump are ok then make sure ur running stock settings hard boot PC and try starting miner a couple of times to see if it fixes its self like mine did

Have you checked to see the fan is spinning, not jammed or broken?

If it is fine, the issue is most likely the thermal paste between the core and heatsink is broken

Thanks for the help!

The BIOS was not modded and I did not overclocked it at all.
The fan is still working and strangely the air that it blows out is cold (even though it says that the GPU is at 70C). So I assume it is the thermal paste then. The good thing is that I managed to get a replacement for the GPU that will arrive in 2 days.

I'm mining Zcash with:

01 - R9 280x - 70 Sol / s
01 - RX 480 - 75 Sol / s
02 - RX 470 - 130 Sol / s
01 - I7 4790K - 25 Sol / s
01 - I7 3790K - 20 Sol / s
Total - 320 Sol / s

I do not pay for energy.

With the price at 0.21 still pays off? Or do they recommend another coin?

How did you got 130 sol/s on a 470?

Is it ever worth buying overpriced ones from eBay? The price direct from Bitmain is already overpriced; adding more on top of that is shooting yourself in the foot.

Bitman products produces profit after 10 months. An ebay one after 13-15 months. Or did I calculated something wrong?

We'll know when Bitmain has more S9s for sale when they make the sale button active.

I suspect they may be waiting on the next batch of BM1387s to arrive from the foundry.

Let me rephrase my question then: How often are they releasing batches usually? Will it be in the next weeks/month?
Is it worth usually waiting for the new batch or just buy overpriced ones from ebay?

Any news regarding when will Bitmain update their stock with S9s?
