Two claims he is making, both of them are pure lies BTW.   He said that Quran says that:

1. Earth is round
2. Light of the moon is a reflected light

Both are pure fabrications used to convince people that are too lazy to check.

Quran says that Allah "spread out Earth like a carpet".  Nowhere it says that Earth is round.

Regarding reflected light: Quran says "the light of the Sun and the light of the moon" . Nowhere in Quran it says that the light of the moon is a reflected light.

Both descriptions are consistent with what a person with no education would observe in the middle of Saudi Arabia in the 6th century.

Why did Allah not mention Internet, bitcoin or cure for cancer in the Quran?

by this logic, if we exist as a result of god, then god must exist as a result of a higher god. And the higher god must exist as the result of a Super God - it's gods all the way up!

Seriously though, on topic there is research to suggest that the belief in a higher power to explain natural phenomena (earthquakes/lightning/tsunamis/tornados/floods etc.), actually helped humans become more advanced.

As an example, they noticed that when the seasons changed and the stars appeared in different places, they recognized good times to grow crops and have chiildren. They probably thought the "star gods" and "sun god" were teaching them a better, more efficient way of life.

Of course now we know that that's mostly bullshit, but the religious myths arguably had a positive influence on humans success in the world.
