How to upgrade 0.3 to 0.5 ?

Download new wallet, run it. It will take time to convert your old wallet to the new format.

Forwarded port 7999 on router.  Even turned off firewall on computer.  No connection, still getting the error message

"Not capable masternode: Could not connect to xx.xx.xxx.xxx:7999"

10k+ is the same. There is no multi-masternode support.

You need to wait for at least 15 confirmations before you can use the funds as collateral.

Going straight to expired is almost 100% either a lack of Static IP (don't even try it on Dynamic IP), firewall blocking connection, or incorrect port forwarding.

How long will DGC be mined? Is there any halving in the roadmap or transforming into PoS/Masternodes?

We are currently deciding the future of rewards and will very likely change it completely. Join our discord and you can influence the direction.

Is there a bootstrap available for the v 5 ?

Synchronization is going very slowly: I started the daemon a few hours ago, only 212000 headers synchronized and zero blocks.

Also debug.log is filling up fast with entries like:

018-07-03 12:07:43 CMasternodeSync::ProcessTick -- nTick 199 nRequestedMasternodeAssets 0 nRequestedMasternodeAttempt 0 nSyncProgress -0.250000

pm'd

and yeah, it's damn slow, seems mn sync not locked properly during block sync

It will improve as the network stabilizes and the outdated nodes come offline. We also need v5 protocol blocks to be mined going forward.

Thank you guys !

As you already said, we have just released the v5.0.0 on our github repository.
This is a clearly the biggest upgrade Digitalcoin has ever known. This release use a new code base (Dash core), so this new version allow you to setup Masternodes. Awesome features will come soon like privacy, and autonomous governance using superblock. The masternode reward  structure is 25%masternode/75%miners right now, slowly increasing to 50%/50% at the end of the year.
This version is currently under deployment on pools so reward will increase as more pools will adopt it.

Windows build is available, OSX will be added in the coming days, you can also find very easy instructions on the home page to build your wallet from sources on Ubuntu.

We also added a very easy way to setup a Masternode, if you have 10000DGC on your wallet, you can press the "setup masternode" button in the wallet, reboot your wallet, wait one confirmation and you can start your masternode using the "start" button. We tried to make this as easiest as possible !

So we hope you will like it !

Enjoy !

So the procedure for moving forward with the new coin and masternodes is to

1) download and install V5 wallet and then

2) send the coins to that wallet?

(no swapping or anything?)

Right now the coins I have are sitting in the Coinomi wallet.

Yes, no swapping needed.

All users, exchanges, pools, and services, please update to the new v5 wallet version. All previous versions of DGC are no longer supported.

https://github.com/lomtax/digitalcoin is the official github.

If you have any issues come by our discord and we will help you to set it up.

All pools have been removed from the pool list. The pools that upgrade to v5 will be listed in their place. Upgrade your pool and post in this thread to get advertised on all the resources.

Hello Aurus,

Thanks for coming to the discord and it was nice chatting with you.

This cryptocurrency has been slowly rising in value over the past days ever since masternodes were announced. As such, I believe that price could rise even more once such feature is officially released.

I have a few questions though:

1. Will there be a masternode shares service or masternode hosting service for DGC?

2. Any ETA on the release of masternodes feature?

3. Are you guys planning to boost promotion/marketing for DGC?

Nonetheless, I've been into crypto since 2014, and DGC by far is one of the oldest altcoins in existence. In its early days, it was truly an innovative cryptocurrency with its multiple hashing algorithms. Now that it will be upgraded to a new codebase, things will get exciting for DigitalCoin. With enough promotion, and dedication to the project from its community, I'm sure that DGC will reach past the $1 mark in the future.  Smiley

1. We don't have any currently planned, we will have detailed setup instructions that anyone can follow.
2. End of June/Beginning of July.
3. We have marketing planned with the version 5 release. With governance included that should allow us to run a campaign. Currently we just rely on volunteers and donations but that has a lot of limits.

Thanks for your positive comments and welcome to the community. Our discord is by far the most active but we do need to pick it up on here.

With the cryptocurrency market crashing all around us, DGC is up! What's even more interesting is how much accumulation is taking place.

Masternode development is now at the testing stage. We are coupling it with a complete redesign of the DGC identity (new wallet design, website refresh, and whitepaper).

Our team successfully ported our current multi-algorithm functionality to the new code base. This will allow us to implement decentralised governance and soft fork enabled by developer majority (possibly in tandem with Masternodes), while still maintaining the advantages of multiple algorithms securing the network.

Since launching in 2013 as a pure Scrypt coin, Digitalcoin has never shied away from implementing improvements. A couple of years ago, we saw the opportunity to increase our security and rely less on a single algorithm and so we introduced SHA-256 and X11 as mining options.

Our community has successfully hard forked multiple times to implement rule changes that improve the economy and functionality of Digitalcoin.  Stay tuned for our biggest hard fork yet!

According to our official roadmap, masternodes are expected during Q3 2018, but considering our progression it could be released a little bit sooner (before this summer).
The collateral will be 10000 DGC.

Correct, Smiley

Digitalcoin will have the implementation of Masternodes when? This coin is old, perhaps future improvements in DGC might bring more attraction to investors, speculators and the general public! But technology is obsolete! Is it possible to upgrade? Because after a few months after the Masternodes, interest may decrease again!

Yeah that might not be enough, the market is still extremely bearish.

I have found some more DigitalCoins in my Cryptopia wallet. I heard that you plan to implement MasterNodes, is it true?
Yes, they planed to implement MNs. You can take a look at their roadmap for more information bro, or join their discord channel.

Yes we are implementing it and the roadmap will be updated.

I am seeing lots of the following exceptions lately

EXCEPTION: St12out_of_range
CInv::GetCommand() : type=1073741826 unknown type
digitalcoin in ProcessMessages()

Any solutions ?

Usually that means that you're connected to a node that is sending you invalid packets. If you could identify it, I can connect to it and see what type of packets it's sending.

Could you guys bring up some kind of explorer api with all algos difficulties + block height listed?

Someone was supposed to get back to me with that info, but that weeks ago.

Hey,

That's one of our roadmap items. There are no off-the-shelf explorers that handle our three algorithms correctly with the three separate difficulties.

I would estimate 3-4 weeks before the basic API is up as we are working on many things at once currently.

Digitalcoin it is real old school of crypto, but I think that Dev team should try to implement something new modern options if you want to pump this coin to top100, maybe pos mining, bounty programs, smart contracts etc. Now it is not enough to have just stable blockchain and good wallets for success. You need give more attention to marketing part of the development.

We agree, please check the roadmap at the bottom of the site to see what we are trying to do. https://digitalcoin.tech/

Hello Dev.
It is great that you have implemented forum and try to keep it active. Building of good community it is very important for coin. I just worry that DigitalCoin has not any innovative inside. Yes it is designed very good, but we need some technology innovations to grow up.

Please check the link above and if you have any suggestions we would love to hear them.

It's impossible to say anything of value in times where panic is the leading factor. It might either jump back up, or go down further. Imagine how those must feel having bought near the peak levels of last year with mortgage capital that they have taken out solely for investment purposes. Funny thing is that people were complaining about the price not moving up much further beyond $14,000 in the last few days, and now they have this to swallow through. Cheesy Some sort of stability within a certain range is always better than having the price go down, isn't it people? It's probably the long waited for correction that people didn't believe in anymore due to it taking so long to kick in, but here we finally have it.

Good analysis and very true. It definitely started feeling like a bubble, even to me, and I've been holding since 2012.

I'm going to guess $6,000 will be the bottom. What's your guess?

$4,000 in about a month. Idk if that will be the bottom though, it depends on if bitcoin's transaction problems are solved. If they are, it could bounce back, but IMO it will take years before it breaks $10k again. I wouldn't be surprised if a superior alt coin eclipses it.

Can an altcoin eclipse it if people's trust in cryptos gets damaged by BTC crashing though? I hope it can hold a decent price anyway.
