Wasn't ebay/paypal kinda against bitcoin miners? Pretty sure I read that somewhere...

Yes they are, they randomly ban people doing Bitcoin transaction. It only sucks if you are unlucky. Smiley

Buying from bitmain is good but I find cloud mining more profitable these days due to the cheap power and saving on delivery charges..

Negative diff hike should stay for long time, assuming bitcoin price don't suddenly sky rocket. So time to buy cloud mining!!

Price is going back up quickly, seems like bitcoin can sustain price growth and higher price levels.  The uptrend seems to be in tact.  Was it just another fake dump?
I don't expect to stay at higher levels for long. A majority of people are still believe that we are in a bear cycle, and so as long as they act on those beliefs we'll be in a bear cycle.

It's a self fulling prophecy.

I actually think that bitcoin price is going up slowly in the longer period, more and more company is accepting bitcoin and slowly the media and people..

i would just stick with buying bitcoin then mining, because you`ll notice miner fees, pool fees add up.

People here are talking about Cloud Mining, where miner fees, pool fees etc are non-existent in most of the cases.

Well it is actually priced into, but still worth it to buy cloud mining due to the saving in shipment.

Re: Value of this rig?

I'm looking to figure out the resale value of this build I put together last January. Thanks for any input!

Case: NZXT Source 530
Mobo: Asus Z87-A
PSU: Seasonic 850W
CPU: i5 4670k
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 Liquid Cooler
Ram: 2x4GB G. Skill, red heatsinks on them
GPU1: Asus R9 270x DirectCU II 2GB
GPU2: Sapphire R9 270x Vapor-x 2GB
HDD1: 120GB Intel SSD
HDD2: WD Blue 500GB
Random old DVD-RW drive
Some pci-e wireless card

I just put the same build together on pcpartpicker and it came out to around $1300.
Am I crazy or are not very powerful PC's selling for pretty high prices on ebay?

About $800, computer parts depreciate a lot especially after the new GTX 980 launch.

Re: Fire hazard and bitcoin minig at home
by

If you do it right the risk of fire should be no more than with any other electronic equipment. Your miners and power supplies will fail long before they get hot enough to go on fire. The biggest risk is probably the wiring in the walls, but if you have a problem there you are at risk no matter what you plug in.

Agree on this, if people are using a lot of power then they need to make sure their cable is able to withstand the amp that they pull. If not it would be really dangerous even if its normal household item like air conditional.
