you backup to external servers dude.......

he did, just not daily, due to bandwidth restraints.

Maybe you can explain what bandwidth restraints have to do with it?

It doesn't take a month to transfer a backup, does it? That'd be 61 kBps....

Why can't backups be continuous?

Normally with hosting plans you are only allowed to transfer so much data per month.  I can't speak to the terms of his plan but that external backup traffic would count against his overall cap on bandwith transfer for the month.

Don't use mcxNOW.  Realsolid is looking for anyway possible to steal your money.  If you forget your password, or don't log in for a couple of months... say goodbye to your coins.
The interface might be good and fast, but be patient, use another exchange and don't get scammed.

I don't think having to pay for support is "scamming" especially when you need support because you caused the problem.  How is that a scam exactly?

Sort of off topic but... does anyone actually get away with PayPal scamming?  I don't know anyone who wouldn't bother opening a dispute after being scammed out of >=$100, and it seems like PayPal always sides with the buyer.

I wonder about that as well.  It seems odd.  Maybe if they get the money out fast enough?  Does placing a dispute hold the funds?  I guess that is a question I need to ask paypal.

Yes..  when you file a dispute - paypal will lock the funds away until it is resolved.  They do that to protect themselves from losing the money for those exact reasons.

Thing is though if you get the money out of paypal quickly enough and then out of the bank account quickly you're in the clear as a scammer.  I say this because I've sold things and had funds held by paypal because of buyer fraud (stolen cc) and all that happens is you show a negative balance in paypal while the funds are held.  They don't take them out of the bank or anything unless you try to use your paypal.  So if you transfered out of paypal to your bank quickly and then took the money out of the account at the bank and then closed the account with the bank, you as the scammer got yours.  Paypal is screwed and eats the loss there.  In my situation since I had seller protection they had to eat the losses with the credit card fraud.

So this is why scammers do this, it's a nice loop hole if you move quick enough.

Anyone want to speculate on why the price of bitcoin has been trending up, what seems to me to be sharply, over the last week?  Did I miss a bit of news that made bitcoin much more valuable?

A major gambling site is said to accept bitcoins soon.

Ah that would make a little sense.  Especially since US gamblers would want to buy bitcoins so they could gamble.

I want to give away 4 copies of DOTA 2.  Steam gave me 4 free copies to give to people and I don't need any of them.  If you are unfamiliar with DOTA 2 see: http://store.steampowered.com/app/570/.  All you will have to do is friend me on Steam temporarily and I will give you a copy.  If you are interested message me on this forum.  I am not looking for any BTC but if you want to tip me some I won't turn them down. Re: [ANNOUNCE] The Bitcoin MALL
by

The only suggestion I would make is to make it possible to buy things through your site.  It seems like what you have is just a directory which we already have on the bitcoin wiki.  I would find it very useful if you had link throughs to some products on the sites in your directory.  Even better if I could purchase things directly through the site and then you could become the destination for all bitcoin spending (kinda like Amazon allowing people to sell through their site).

Other than that I like the idea.  I wish you much luck in your endeavor.

I don't know why you have this ridiculous need to try to find fault in what I am doing but I'll explain why you may want to buy from me.  If you only want to stretch truths to trash what I am doing then I will lock this thread.  I don't have time to keep pointing out your logic shortcomings.

1. That isn't the actual price of that drive (the 89.99) is a sale price, the regular price is $109.98CAD (notice I am listing USD, there is a slight and ever changing difference).
2. This store you quote is in Canada and I am in the US.  So if you are a customer in the US, when you take the $109.98 price plus the shipping to get from Canada to the US you would be paying much closer to 200% of the price I am charging.
3. You may want to buy from me because I offer the ability to pay in BTC
4. The same drive that I have listed that you singled out goes for $109USD regular at newegg and is currently on sale for $79.99 so my price of $88 is a higher than the SALE price on newegg but it isn't out of the ball park.  I will probably also be dropping the price on this drive soon to be in line with newegg since my distribution channel dropped theirs.  I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
5. Customer service.  I don't know what the customer service is like from this other site.  I'm sure it is good otherwise they'd probably be out of business but some people may prefer how I work with them.  Complete customer opinion and their choice there.

I would like to close out by saying, I feel bad for you.  If you didn't like the price of the CPU I listed; I would have preferred you to just move on instead of trying to skew things to make me look like I am ripping people off.  It is people like you spread throughout this community that is slowly ruining it.  Trying to find fault for no apparent reason.  I am here to sell computer parts for BTC because I believe in BTC and what it can be.  Am I perfect or my prices perfect? No! But I am trying to improve on that while still offering the best deal I can right now to people who would prefer to deal in BTC.  If I didn't believe in BTC as much as I do I would have packed up an left the community already, I've dealt enough with people like you to say it isn't worth it.  Hell, I may give up soon because this is becoming ridiculous.  And at the end of it all, you'll still be you trying to find fault in things and the community will be out another vender willing to use the currency.

I can get this for $150,

its a i7-960 + motherboard +Asus X58 sabertooth and a 2X4GB of ram.

And yours is $265?  Huh  Huh  Huh

Sorry I don't understand  Huh

Also at the time of writing the price of this combo is going up.  It is an auction, hard to say what the final price will be.

This is used.  Many people do not like to buy used and don't want to take that gamble (warranties, condition, etc...).  The part I am selling is new.  This is not a fair comparison seeing as this person is just trying to get anything for their parts they are done with.  I am getting ready to sell my cpu, mobo and ram combos that I was using for mining for $50 starting auction on ebay.  I expect so little because the parts are already used, if I was selling new parts I would expect to get more.

Because stores sell these for high prices.

Even NCIX: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=51367&vpn=OSA146ATBOX&manufacture=AMD
Sells this single core processor for $264.99

Or http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=20542&vpn=100-435705-R&manufacture=ATI

Its a Radeon X1800XT and about 6 generations out of date.

Because of this, it does not mean anyone will buy it!
They offer this because of a low demand, and things.

And why would anyone want to fork out $265 for a old socket, extremely out of date cpu  Huh
And instead they can invest $100 or so and get the newest in line?

No one is going to pay for an extremely out of date processor, end of story,

If you don't get it, then I don't know what  Huh

Right and I am a store.  If they already have the motherboard with this socket and wanted to upgrade the cpu buying this one would be cheaper than buying a whole new motherboard, ram and CPU would it not?  I'm not saying this offer is good for everyone or even most people but someone may find that this would be best for them.
