Maybe his goal is 1 million coins  Grin
http://bitinfocharts.com/vertcoin/address/Vjf6QRCF1AsaMUeGBpN8ZtN2z2htiGkZXr

if he is buying all the coins then its average price might be around 0.0015 to 0.002 it is at a loss as most of us, but here it is important that it continues to full his address with fresh coins at low prices

this is suspect.... can someone manipulate this?

why is someone trying to collect so much coin?

can you say that this is not an exchange or something else?

its probably an exchange

I can not agree with you, why do you think that

Number Of Inputs - 447
Number Of Outputs - 91

Because of the uniform number of both in/outputs. It has never deviated from exactly 1000. Its associated accounts as well. I cant see a single trader operating that way. It might not be an exchange per se, but the likelyhood of it being a single trader is slim in my opinion.

Im thinking its time to dump this coin like everyone else is. Cant see a reason to hang around.

I think it's time for you to jump off a bridge.
i'm still holding my vtc but intend to dump my big vtc bag , approximately 45K vtc cause i need to pay electricity bill and the deadline is coming soon Undecided

Your electricity bill comes up to ~USD$18k?

Can somebody please explain me how many watts a Radeon R9 (an example) is used when mining vertcoins? I want to know if it's a good choice to buy a graphic card, instead of buying an ASIC to mine SHA256/scrypt. I'm newbie in this one.

A computer usually consumes ~300W, right? And adding a powerful graphic card, wouldn't that make me waste more with electricity bill, than profiting mining it? I pay around $0.20 where I live, by the way.

Thanks in advance!

Total consumption on x11 is about 220w after undervolting. As for Scrypt-N it's about 300W. Taken on a 280x coupled with an i7-2600k processor.

@vertcoin:
The GPU miner link on the main thread is broken: https://vertcoin.org/downloads/vertminer-0.5.3.zip

Anyway, there's no further optimization being worked on the vertminer? There's no new version in months.
FYI, the x11/x13/x15 miner recently got improved again, and got even better with the recent ati 14.6 rc2 driver.
Here's hoping maybe scryptn can also be improved somehow.  Grin

The Scrypt kernel is fairly mature at this point since it had over a year of development. Scrypt-N is basically just Scrypt with a bigger memory requirement. X11 however, was sorely unoptimized in the first place, hence the lower power usage.

Guys,

If I run my wallet does it help to increase the nodes for stealth address startup?

It should help stealth transactions propagate faster as there are more nodes to pick it up.

Guys, the multipool x11.[Suspicious link removed] hash dropped by about 1/3rd. With it, the sell pressure from wafflepool is increasing.

Please take a moment to reconsider and mine on this pool.

You save half on electricity, keep your GPUs 10 degrees lower, and help neutralize scrypt-n multipools from building sell pressure.

In my case, I made 80% of VTC profitability yesterday. However, since I saved half on electricity... this comes out to more VTC after the cost of power.
You're right. Really there is a need for it. I would ask everyone to mining on http://x11.[Suspicious link removed]/

i had to quit mining there because it has become pathetically low 0.15vtc / mh.s / day

i'm mining vtc on coinotron now but i never dump my coins i've been mining and holding vtc since late march .... i think i'm still doing good to the coin by not dumping the 10 ~ 15 coin that i get my hands on daily for the past 3 months

hashing in @ 3.5 mh/s n-scrypt because of the summer heat , in winter i used to hash @ 4 ~ 4.2 mh/s

Why Coinotron? Why not a proper VTC pool that offers MON and PLX payouts?

Re: Vertcoin | Scrypt N | Beat ASIC | Stealth Address | Vertlet for iOS

Let's me summarize for you.

1. Scrypt-N ASIC, We have looking for another algorithm already. We have planed to implement it in GPU and CPU miner after we released Stealth Addresses.

2. Multiple PoW, In order to change to the new algorithm, it must be smooth transition as much as possible. We have planed to implement multiple PoW from Scrypt-N to the new algorithm. According to the plan, it will be Scrypt-N -> New Agorithm + Scrypt-N -> New Algorithm.

3. Multipool & Inflation, We still discussing the solutions with team members to find the best way to solve it, but it will do nothing until we released Stealth Address.

4. Stealth Address, It is in progressing.

Thanks,
bushido

That would be first multi-PoW coin, am I right?

OK, but current situation insists for being open-minded...

Why this above can't be done a bit more flexible?

Scrypt-N -> Scrypt-N + X11 (or X13 or X15, whatever) -> New Algorithm + Scrypt-N + X11 -> New Algorithm

This first change should be done as soon as posible, this would give us more time for good choice of New Algorithm

and maybe for a best 'GPU only PoW' worldwide contest (vide: SHA-3 case for instance)

btw:
"Have you determined Ethereum's proof of work algorithm, and is it possible to describe in laymans terms? Smiley
A: We are planning on holding a contest in the style of NIST's AES contest for both the academic and open source communities to participate in. Our goal is to offer a large bounty for the first team to produce (...)
However, our latest line of thought is a memory-hard proof of work based the blockchain data itself. The precise algo would be: H = SHA3(block header ++ nonce)[12:] for i in [0...7] A = first address in blockchain state tree after H B = balance(A) H = SHA3(block header ++ nonce ++ A[0] ++ B[0] ++ ... ++ A[7] ++ B[7]) SUCCESS = 1 if H < 2256 / difficulty else 0 This has the following advantages: Extremely memory hard to compute; makes Dagger look like a child toy Extremely easy to verify"

http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1xb5rj/hi_were_the_ethereum_founding_team_ask_us_anything/

The first multi-PoW coin would be Myriadcoin.

I think temporary closed-source is something darkcoin did right. We should do this too. Only until it's widely accepted that we were the first stealth coin - then open it up. It would be far too easy for someone to steal our thunder right now.
+1

Meh, I sold all my darkcoin at 0.01 because it was announced they would keep it closed source for the foreseeable future. I'd probably do the same for vert. That's not something I want to support.

That means you sold (drk) less than what it is currently worth.

You are suggesting we dump our vertcoin for this pathetic price as well?

Pro trading tips right there...LOL.

VTC could withhold the source for 30 days or so. No harm in doing that right?

Stealth addresses are now live on MON mainnet. VTC release will follow once further beta testing has taken place in MON, so please help to test.

http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/298wpl/monocle_stealth_address_release_candidate_1/

tell us... how can you defend your developments and innovations from the takeover by exe?

it is hard to understand how did it first. exe coin devs claim to be the first in this place... so what is the deal?

But they haven't released anything Sx related right? I bet they are simply claiming to be first but then waiting for Vertcoin to release the code so that they can start copying wholesale. The only thing I notice going for them is the Electrum Beta.

Let's me say this, Our current situation is not many people in Bitcointalk or Altcoin world know we are working on Stealth Address, and gonna be released soon ( end of this month ). That's the problem because finally we gonna open source, and then other coins will copy our code without giving credit or change name from Stealth Address to StealthSend or whatever name. At that time, investors will think those coins have active devs, and short time implementing the feature. As a result, Vertcoin value will decrease although we released the new features first.

So, after you reading, please help us doing whatever you can to help other people know we are the first coin who implement Stealth Address, and how good is it when comparing with other coins. I think it is only way to increase Vertcoin value, and attract future investors.

Thanks,
bushido

ouch... that sounds bad... really bad  Embarrassed

the bad thing is that exe coin is simply copying everything and posting on twitter.

Yeah, look at this shit: http://cryptocoinchronicle.com/2014/06/execoin-innovates-plus-giveaway/  Angry

Hai guys, is anybody already setup mining vertcoin with this ?

You can try mining on x11.greenpool.com. Mines x11 coins and autoconverts to Vertcoins.

I posted this in reddit.com/r/vertcoin, but I will post it here too.

I highly recommend everyone who reads this to switch over to this X11 multipool. You can currently mine more coins daily and decrease electricity costs. As this pool gets larger, it will increase buy orders on the exchange; increase VTC's price.

Summer keeps getting hotter, and "mining profit:electricity" is getting scarce. However, miners can mine the X11 algorithm and decrease GPU temperature 10+ degrees and lower electricity consumption by 50%.

For anyone who is unaware, wafflepool is a multipool that recently added Scrypt-N coins. It's currently mining 700 MH/s at Vertcoin and instantly selling it for BTC. That is 12% of VTC's network consistently selling. This has been effectively lowering VTC's price since its release.

Since 06/03/2014, WafflePool has managed to mine and sell 34,000. This number is increasing nearly every hour. Luckily, GreenPool just released their X11 multipool.

WafflePool's Scrypt-N Stats: http://wafflepool.com/stats/nscrypt

WafflePool's Vertcoin Wallet: https://explorer.vertcoin.org/address/VgoL97E5CEbPJtcfuNHw9B8rEudTgVQeC6

GreenPool's X11: http://x11.greenpool.tk/

Miners are already showing their support with, already, over 500 MH/s mining and buying VTC. Unfortunately, this is not enough. We need much more to counteract the sell pressure that is being dealt.

BONUS: Nvidia (CudaMiner) users should expect 6X increase in hash rate. (750 Ti = 2.3 MH/s | R9 290 = 3.4 MH/s)

I am willing to donate, and recommend others to join, 5+ VTC for anyone who makes a guide to help miners switch to X11 from Scrypt-N. I expect it to be comprehensive enough to easily get the most out of their GPUs and installing/configuring the X11 Miner or CudaMiner.

Until this sell pressure is neutralized, this pool and VTC itself needs more hash power.
I understand the developers are working on possibilities to fend off multipools like WafflePool. In the meantime, the VTC will continuously get massively sold and this is the only countermeasure

We need more support on x11.greenpool.tk!

New X11 multipool online in beta mode - you mine X11 algo and get paid directly in VTC! Check out reddit thread here:

Come on, we need more hashes!

0.8.7.1 wallet is still the latest wallet version so no update possible...

have you tried without a conf file?

yes still the same

hmm the only idea i have left is to delete the chain and resynch. but i'm not a tech geek ...
you can also ask boris or vertcoin via pm for help.

Make sure you backup your wallet.dat first! That is very very important just in case you accidentally clear out the entire Vertcoin folder.
