Noniin, elikkäs viikonloppu hierottu nyt ekoilla talletuksilla treidejä. Itse pidän juuri helppokäyttöisyydestä ja yksinkertaisuudesta. Taidanpa ostaa uudet btc:t jatkossa tätä kautta ennen siirtoja binanceen.

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/libra-mik%C3%A4-se-ja-miksi-kiinnostaa-thomas-brand/

Opas: mikä on Facebookin kryptovaluutta Libra?
https://bitcoinkeskus.com/facebook-libra/

Vaikutuksia on paha sanoa ennen kuin näkee, millaiseen pykäläviidakkoon Zuckerberg kumppaneineen astuu. Tuossa on sen verran uhkaa pankkien suuntaan, etteivät anna kyllä FB:n ottaa markkinoita haltuun noin vain. Päättäjät ovat kuitenkin käytännössä pankkiirien taskussa, joten eiköhän Libran tielle kasata vielä aika paljon esteitä.

Re: CoinTracking - Profit/Loss Portfolio and Tax Reporting for Digital Currencies
by
bergenic
on 30/01/2018, 17:26:54 UTC
This question has been probably answered many times here, but it's difficult to go through 50+ pages so I hope I can get a reply like this Smiley

I just started to use CoinTracking and it works great, I can get all trades in great, no problem. But when I create my Tax Report I get warnings and an issue I guess is popular?

My Bitcoin history starts like this: I deposit 1000€ -> I buy Bitcoins with 1000€ (to get back those prices...)

In my Tax Report this 1st Purchase of Bitcoins is marked with a warning, and it says there's no suitable purchase date for selling of these 1000€. Since the trade is buy BTC / sell EUR.
So the program then makes this entire 1000€ as gains. There is no gain at this point because I've just purchased my first Bitcoin, there'd be only gain if I sold them.

In the example import excel a purchase is made by putting USD to Sell column and Bitcoins to buy. This is how I made as well.

So how are these crypto/fiat purchased supposed to be put in? I'm confused Huh

Edit: I have deposits marked correctly as deposits, shouldn't that wipe out the fake gain in this case.
Edit 2: I guess I have to input an "income" so then it gets canceled?

What's the payout for KuCoin? I've seen their affiliate links around, but hadn't gotten around to signing up with them. Is it a percentage commission, for the lifetime of referred accounts?
Here's how it works:
https://news.kucoin.com/en/kucoin-bonus-plan/

... or worked  Angry Because KuCoin stopped the invitation bonus program this week.

It's quite amazing; Binance just made a casual note that the percentage was dropped from 50% to 20% and KuCoin stopped paying for referrals entirely. They can do whatever they want since the webmasters have no other good options to promote either.

Crypto affiliate programs -updated version?
by
bergenic
on 14/01/2018, 19:24:53 UTC
I was searching for affiliate program discussion but could only find some very old topics like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=434608.0

For all you webmasters: what sites you check gradually to find out new affiliate programs? And what type of programs are the most potential ones for you?

I've been running an article/news/info site for few months and I've used the referral codes of exchanges and Coinbase ofc. I also got banners of Ledger Nano S. So far the exchange referrals look by far the most promising. Especially Binance - even if they cut their percentage down from 50% to 20% recently. Any one-time referral payments are so much worse compared to these. I've recently started to promote KuCoin too, which is becoming very popular.

Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future?
by
bergenic
on 29/12/2017, 23:19:25 UTC
Why on earth would banks need or want Ripple? They can already exchange funds easily using existing centralized networks -- blockchain is useless in that context.

A its a lot faster
B its a lot cheaper
C they can track everything until the money reach the account

The question is more why wouldnt banks want Ripple
Spot on.

"But soon banks will develop their own coin and Ripple will be useless" -- but this argument you can use to anything. Soon Bitcoin is useless because everyone will develop their own coins. Any coin can be replaced at any time with hundreds of new projects. Even if you can do something in theory, it doesn't necessarily make sense financially. Ripple have also tons of banks with them already for a good reason (and probably more coming).

First of all, it's great you have made up your own mind. Don't let other people get you fooled, since nobody can predict where any of the coins go  Cool

Secondly; it's very smart you've bought a hardware wallet right away! Ledger Nano is also very handy and easy to use. However, you'd check what coins Ledger Nano supports first. It doesn't help you to buy coins you can't store in it. Check from here: https://ledger.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005304449-Which-altcoins-and-tokens-are-supported-by-the-Ledger-products-

You manage your coins in Ledger Nano like you'd manage them in any other online wallet. There's a software you install to your desktop and then you can send/receive any coins it supports.

Re: Binance without kyc

Nice to see other's comments here because I've been wondering the same thing.  I didn't jump into Binance right away because I didn't trust the new exchange but I'm beginning to think that exchanges outside the US might actually be more secure due to the government forcing regulations.  I mostly use a trading bot (Gunbot) and its next release supports Binance... when it does I'm going to transition away from Bittrex.
Recently started to use Binance and it's the only exchange that has never given me Cloudflare-errors in the past two weeks. Works like a charm every day and deposits/withdrawals are also processed faster than anywhere else. I've been using it without KYC. They got pretty much every alt you can think of as well so it's a great place to trade.

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

Go back to school and perform the option 1!

I think that exodus is the best desktop-wallet. And i use Ledger as my ethereum wallet. It's the best hardware wallet on the market i think
100% agreed with both. Exodus works fantastic, it looks nice, it's easy to use and you can store loads of different altcoins in it. It's the only crypto-related software I've never had any issues with. Also desktop wallet is more secure than online wallet.

When I open myetherwallet website I want to vomit.

For more serious investments ledger nano for sure. It supports the most popular alts too and adds the security needed. Doesn't make sense if your whole portfolio is worth 100$ but if it's 1000$ or more I'd buy it.

Re: How do you think upcoming bitcoin futures can affect the market??
by
bergenic
on 08/12/2017, 12:13:05 UTC
I just read this Coindesk article (link: https://www.coindesk.com/threat-bitcoin-futures/) about futures, and it says:

But here’s the thing: the money will not be pouring into the bitcoin market. It will be buying synthetic derivatives that don’t directly impact bitcoin at all.

For every $100 million (or whatever) that supermegahedgefundX puts into bitcoin futures, no extra money goes into bitcoin itself. These futures do not require ownership of actual bitcoins, not even on contract maturity.

---> so, if futures are just basically bets on the Bitcoin price movements and totally outside the Bitcoin blockchain, why would they have any effect on the price? Why would Bitcoin price go up or down because of futures exists? Anyone could make any bets of the price movements already right now as it is. Ofc you can argue to some extent that people who bet the price to go up might go and buy Bitcoin their selves to help boost it. But there are so many whales who have bought bitcoins at 1$ or 10$ years ago who really control such things. If some Wall Street fat cat goes now to the market when the price is 15.000 there's a limit how much he can buy it without the risk growing way too high.

This whole thing feels like inside out. There have been long time some ETFs you can buy, where the fund actually owns bitcoins. So, each time someone buys the asset the fund goes and buys Bitcoins. This is something that effects the price, yet people are talking about only these futures.

Could someone explain this, who knows the futures market better  Huh

Now 180K+ unconfirmed transactions. Some people have sent Bitcoin last night and still zero confirmations.

Re: Should I sell my ETH to buy BTC??
by
bergenic
on 07/12/2017, 15:30:07 UTC
Before this huge growth on bitcoin, I decided to buy some Ethereum. Since the price of ETH is slowly going down with the growth of the BTC, should I sell my Ethereum to buy Bitcoin again? Thank you in advance, Im new to this!
I don't think it makes any sense to do that move now. You are basically picking the worst possible time to change ETH to BTC. Just two days ago you got 0.04 BTC with one ETH and now you get 0.026 - almost losing half of the gain. If I was you I'd just hold on to my ETH until the ratio gets better. Bitcoin might go down for a big correction any day or it could be some news pushing ETH higher.  It's not like you are holding some toxic asset, ETH is a nice investment as well and the ratio will also move other way. Just last week Bitcoin corrected from 11K+ to less than 9K in one day.

I'm actually thinking of selling some BTC for ETH myself, already sold a little bit to buy my long-term target ADA!

Re: Monero

I really like the recent news https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2017/12/05/cryptocurrency-monero-to-be-accepted-by-45-musicians-such-as-mariah-carey-g-eazy-sia-for-holidays/ related to Monero, since it's for once something concrete you can use a crypto currency for. We've seen how crypto kitties are doing too.

I also like the idea of people starting to demand more privacy especially in US. The Equifax scandal and many more should have outraged a lot of people. If they now get a chance to keep their privacy and even get discounts from using Monero, it's going to be good. People have a lot of time to sit on their PCs during the holiday season and shop online, so the demand should go up. Hard to say how much of this is priced in today's gains for example. Monero has always been one of the cryptos that's always next in the list, but something else with more potential comes first. Now I've finally invested some money to Monero yesterday anticipating a move to the next level in December.

Re: IOTA seems to be dropping on missed announcement
by
bergenic
on 06/12/2017, 14:51:10 UTC
The price increase of IOTA is insane, in my opinion this cant be real and definitely should not be and not in such a short time. Look at the total supply of IOTA, how can one IOT be priced at ~$5, crazy in my opinion. I have a bad feeling, that many people that want to hop on this train will suffer huge losses and then blame it on crypto markets, although its their own fault for running behind a hype... Just insane.
Just curious, based on what analysis is $5 IOT priced insane? There's no p/e ratio to use here like we can do with stock prices, which would be some indication of expensive or cheap. To me IOT is just speculation of the future like pretty much all coins. Hence, why would $5 be crazy compared to $1 or $3 for example. They are just numbers and can't be really tethered to anything solid. They are as crazy or as fair prices as if IOT was 100$ at the moment. Maybe if the marketplace was alive and it had x million users spending y million IOTs creating z amount of transactions - I guess we could estimate the value there. But now the network volume is also coming from just people speculating with the coin in like two exchanges, where it's traded from person A to a person B. Ethereum was $7 exactly a year ago and now it's 450$ - that's crazy IMO. But then, it might as well be 4500$, there's no price formulae to use to figure out what it should be, really Huh

IOT might be a classic pump'n'dump for sure, not arguing against that. I'm just interested knowing how people valuate these assets. I've bought IOT since I believe it'll be more valuable in the future and probably everyone else is doing the same. Not like I can use the coin to anything even remotely useful yet, or maybe not for a long time. Until that happens and it's tied to something more real, I think the price could really be anything. If you compare it to Ether's gains then IOT could be 200-300$ next Xmas!

Re: When do you know its time to sell your altcoins?
by
bergenic
on 06/12/2017, 10:20:08 UTC
No matter how you analyse it, all coins surprise all investors all the time  Grin If you sell today and it goes up 50% tomorrow - that happens to everyone. To me there're basically three ways to do this:

1) Never sell. You just hodl it like people buy stocks for their retirement fund.
2) You set a target when you buy the coin and stick to it. Once the target is reached you sell your coins and then sleep over it one night and make a new plan.
3) Cash out some of the profits like using a cheese slicer. Sell 5% or 10% and leave the rest for one week. If it goes up again sell 5% or 10% and leave it again.

I'm doing the option [3] myself. I own some IOTA bought back a month ago so I sold 10% of it yesterday and bought new coin I didn't have. If it goes up to like 7-8 I probably sell 5-10% again and invest them into a new coin. This way you get to save or re-invest some of the profits, so if it crashes to hell in one week you didn't lose all. But on the other hand if IOTA is 100$ next year you'll end up making a lot of money anyway.

Take it easy, we just discuss and share our thoughts. Of course, everyone makes their own conclusions, but hearing someone's opinion is also useful.
Sure, you have every right to your opinion like everyone else. I was just pointing to the original poster to research and not to wait other people's calls if there's something interesting out there in the market. You end up regretting many missed chances that way. There's lots of info very easily available of all the major coins to look for.
