[Hiring Python Developer] Modify Stratum Mining Proxy
by
berrycorp
on 07/12/2013, 23:24:51 UTC
I need an expert in Python who can modify the source code and compile in to stable efficient windows binary (.exe).
I'm willing to explore other options as well including hosting it on a Linux server - but I'd like to try it as a windows binary first, that is what I am using now.

Python Source Code: https://github.com/slush0/stratum-mining-proxy
Example in a Windows Binary: http://mining.bitcoin.cz/mining-proxy-howto

Right now we are opening up around 1,000 ports (1 mining_proxy.exe per port, 1000 .exe's and cmd.exe's) each allowing up to 240 miners to connect.
-----
This creates a problem, the original source code is throwing a few errors that need to be ignored, if we have 500 errors thrown at once it really hangs up the system. It is also difficult to launch, monitor and load balance miners - it needs to be extremely reliable and scale properly.

---
Any bids that are as simple as 'I can do this project for you' will be ignored. You must at least state your qualifications and why you will be able to complete this project successfully.

We can pay in BTC/LTC/$

Metaphorically speaking, that's like 600 Bucyrus RH400 hydraulic shovels vs a few hundred guys with teaspoons.

Having an issue with NVC cashout... Click "cash out" and page reloads and nothing happens.

the cryptsy address is correct and its saved.

All other cashouts are happening ok. Its just NVC thats causing issues.

Re: How PayPal could leverage Bitcoin

essentially you are saying paypal should do what bitpay and coinbase are doing.

Honestly I would love to see that happen BUT the problem is paypal is owned by ebay and that means all the bureaucracy that exists in big companies exist there. Had that not been the case paypal would have launched a square competitor YEARS ago!

I'd rather have the square guys start accepting bitcoin. I expect innovation from them a lot more than paypal and they are as big!

it's so sick! these bills sell for 7-40€ now! I want one to show how fiat turns worthless and now for this stupid fact they gain in value!
Damn, the most worthless bill in the world is getting expensive because everybody wants to have one of these! Noooooo! Please stop buying these to brag with your wealth and leave them to people that want to make an actual point with them!

its less than $5

I covered all my shorts yesterday, but have now re-opened them plus some, so I am putting my money where my mouth is in case anyone wants to call me on that. And by short I mean negative Bitcoins, not just sitting in fiat.

What is negative Bitcoins? I always thought that short means sit on fiat waiting to increase bitcoin position later as they fall in price

I mean leveraged short CFD's ... I make fiat when the price goes down. To me holding BTC is long, holding fiat is 'flat'. 'Short' means selling borrowed BTC or a CFD (or ETF  Cheesy)

Where do you trade these instruments?

I would like to know this as well

not mad at all. I actually feel sad for all the young investors who basically are brain washed into buying coins and having dreams of grandeur. think about it, does the average wall street investor have a chance against institutions on wall street. its even worse with coins.

Oh that's just rich, a person who's been brainwashed by said institutions and is running around convincing other people that they've been brainwashed Cheesy

im not brainwashed. think about it, you have invested your hard earned money into a pipe dream. since when are all the little people right and the big players are wrong. The poor, uneducated, misinformed people have been repressed forever. you think you are going to outsmart the people with all the money. they pay people to think of ways to make MORE money. YOU my friend are GUESSING!

Why so mad bro?

They are a lot better off than the people on wall street.. Worst case you go to 0 in bitcoin ...

In sub prime crisis average Joe's owed 5-10x there net-worth to the banks. I'd say betting on bitcoin is a LOT LESS risk than real estate..

Best option is to buy BTC and then transfer those to BTC-e if you planning to speculate on alt currencies.

Use coinbase to link a checking account.  It is the easiest way imo.
