Question, I head there's coming a new Wallet version. Is there a date when it will be released?
No, there isn't an official date. But just some hours ago there was another weekly dev update on Discord:

Development update for week of Nov. 19, 2017 This week was cut short because of the U.S.A Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday and Friday. Nonetheless, the Sia team continues to move forward on the upcoming 1.3.1 release.
3 Nebulous repos were updated this week with 15 pull requests merged and 7 issues closed. 1.3.1RC2 is still waiting for the writeaheadlog repo to be finished and integrated. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday 1.3.1RC2 is likely going to be available in early December.
The Minio team has officially merged in the Sia Gateway code enabling the Minio integration. Congratulations to everyone who helped and to dvstate for submitting the Pull Request. You can view the PR here: https://github.com/minio/minio/pull/5114
The /r/siacoin subreddit passed 17,000 subscribers this week and continues to grow. The Siacoin market cap has also seen considerable growth this week helping Siacoin briefly climb its way back into the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap.
Happy Thanksgiving
So version 1.3.1 will probably be released around mid December.
I don't think ASIC mining is a great idea look at bitcoin and all the large mining operations that control everything. I thought their announcement was a technical one with cool features, very disappointing news.
Agreed. Also, I thought the news was not until Friday - so maybe this is just a foundation for future announcement?
It was the big news. But there will be more details until friday. Devs are writing a blog post for tomorrow:
Taek: I'm working on a blog post for tomorrow that'll walk through the full implications of Obelisk for Sia's users. From an everyday perspective, Obelisk does not affect users at all. From a decentralization perspective, it's an important step
I just downloaded the User wallet Sia-UI-v1.2.1-osx-x64, when I am installing it says A JavaScript error occurred in the main process and I am unable to proceed.
Can someone advise me the steps to fix this? Or is there any other wallet I can put in my recovery passwords?
Or you may buy it at hitbtc, poloniex and cryptopia.
No, apart from Bitsquare you cannot buy Siafunds on any exchange (yet). So you need to use Bitsquare or trade them OTC (e.g. in the Sia slack channel #siafunds).
Just bought some SC from an exchange and I want to take it out.
I need someone to take a minute of their time to please provide me with wallet setup instructions so I can have my SC in my hands and not with an exchange. SC seems to be a bit more complicated than most. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
I find this coin intriguing but it is so low price on poloniex. Is development active? I like the idea of investing.
It's quite active! Three people working full time on development plus more people for marketing and operations. Check their Github: https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia/commits/master Also, their devs are very friendly. If you join Slack you will find them there as well chatting with the community and answering questions. In my opinion, the coin is much undervalued for what the tech has achieved already. For sure a good time to invest.
Minebox is partnering with Shapeshift and presale will start next Monday. The price will be around $800 for the 8TB version. All hardware specs can be seen on the Minebox webpage: https://minebox.io/

The Sia team will do an AMA (ask me anything) this Friday at 2pm EST on reddit (exact place to be announced later).
Please join them and take the opportunity to ask them any questions you have. For sure you will learn a lot about the Sia cloud storage platform and the next steps in its development process.
