The new coins can be traded on livecoin.  There may be other exchanges now or in the future, but I know livecoin does allow trading of the new coins now.

I think it's more a store of value, and something like litecoin is more purpose built for use as an everyday currency.

I wish I could stop myself from checking blockfolio so often.  It's affecting my productivity.

We're still in the dip, so you should be in the hold/accumulation phase.

BTC mining isn't profitable for the average person.  Personally, I'm fascinated by the possibility of getting into speculative mining of new coins that have just been released.  It combines some elements of mining with some research and gambling aspects of alt coin investing.  Follow @notsofast on twitter and start digging in deeper from there.

Thanks for the info.  I've been trying to sign up for airdrops every day.  Most of them will be worthless, but I'm hoping that if I keep it up I'll end up with a few decent ones that actually have value.  I plan to keep track of my "free" coins and whatever BTC I trade for them as a separate portfolio to see what is possible to make with no monetary investment.

This is the dip.  Buy some now, but not all at once.  Dollar cost average your way in, but definitely put some in now.

Eventually, it will.  It may take years though.

It falls in response to regulation news in the short term, but in the long term we will need regulation if it's ever going to truly gain mass appeal and be the kind of thing that people can invest in their 401k's.

For the foreseeable future, I get paid in USD and I pay my mortgage and my grocery bills in USD.  I imagine in 10 years or so, that will probably no longer be the case.

Both.  I would try to get half your money in now, in case it takes off back to All Time Highs, but save a little in case it doesn't. If you have a job and earn extra money each week, then go all in now, and keep putting in a little more each week.

Most new coins are for buy and flip in my opinion.

Altcoins will be good, until they're not.  At some point, there will be a day of reckoning when most of them go to (almost) zero.  Only the truly legit/useful ones will survive in the long run.

Finding the non-scammy ICOs is like finding a needle in a haystack.  Who has the time to search through so many of them.

There's no reason not to diversify by holding both (and maybe some other alts as well).

There will always be a place for btc and altcoins.  Over time, the correlation between them will diminish.
