Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin"

I've installed v1.4.17 for Linux and am running the console via ./clam-qt

I am only getting 2 peers.  I'm wondering if there are nodes I can add to my clam.conf?  I've looked around and the info seems to be pretty old and ineffective.

I've also added bootstrap.dat files in my ./clam folder posted by dooglus elsewhere here but that doesn't really address the lack of peers or will it when I catch up?

Thanks in advance.

I downloaded Clam Client 1.4.17 for OSX.  I've noticed that at random blocks it stalls for very long periods of time.  I'm currently at block 338xxx (13 Feb 2015).  I've noticed that restarting the client speeds up the process quit a bit.  I'm wondering if adding nodes (is there a list of nodes available) would be helpful and if using the console or if adding a .config file in Application Support would be appropriate.

I've been downloading the chain for about 18 hours and am on block 338xxx with 36 weeks left.  Does this seems about right?

I have between 8 - 14 connections at any given time and have a reliable connection 20 Mbps +

Nevermind, I have answered my own question.  I have found the bootstrap for the chain in a previous post. It seems to be working fine.  If anybody is curious:

I put a small amount of DRK (less than 10) and .5 BTC in Bitfinex to give it a test drive.

I'd much rather have cash as my margin basis rather than crypto but it seems the only way to do so is to place a margin order for BTC and then claim which is fine (unless there is another way).  My DRK and original .5 BTC is untradable in the Exchange (I found a workaround for BTC as state previously or perhaps its the way its supposed to work) but for DRK I'm not sure how to convert to USD?

Suggestions?  I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

You can just go to "Exchange" and then to "DRKUSD" and trade for USD.

There is no leverage possible for DRK, also it is not possible to use it as collateral.

If you wouldn't mind looking at my trade here and see what might possibly be wrong?  I'm placing a simple market order for DRK and it is "saying not balance", same thing happens on the Exchange side for BTC even though i have plenty of BTC

http://screencast.com/t/OaQkRdldHBMU

click on "manage wallets" and move the DRK from deposit account to the exchange account Wink

Bitfinex is very powerful and offers seperate wallets, so that you don't do something stupid!

Bingo!!! Thanks, answered all of my questions.  I really appreciate it, I would have eventually figured it out but who knows how long before I would have stumbled upon that.  You saved me a lot of time.

I am just looking for a simple stop loss solution for Bitstamp/BTC-E and I came across this project.

Is this project stable at the moment for this purpose?  My needs are for orders that have already been placed.

I just noticed that the Member #'s were off by one towards the middle of my spreadsheet.  I figured out why.  On Bitoffer's Master Member list he repeated member #33 and i did not do the same thing on my list.  I now have Member #33 twice and the Member's now match the BTC addresses.  I have not checked to see if the BTC is still in the addresses again.

I've Just seen more problems, I'm checking on the list and matching things up.  I saved a copy of the Members list from several days ago and am seeing if there are any differences from today to that list.

Hmmm..........btc missing. Refunds not honored, IPO coins not dispersed, and the dev doesn't reply.

How long you think this bid will be up? :

SUM (BTC)   TOTAL (BTC)   SIZE (HOC)   BID (BTC)
0.0000   0.0000   1000.00000000   0.00000001

It is the ONLY bid but transferring coins aren't getting confirmed lol. When the dude wakes up...p00f!!! goes that bid Tongue

Edit: he woke up and withdrew his 1 sat bid Tongue

Great work

I checked my numbers and had to change member #5 to 2.4185 BTC.  Not all of your numbers match what is on the blockchain, I didn't look at every member but #5 shows 2.01 on your list and  2.4185 on the blockchain. It's probably the one member, I had to change it on the spreadsheet myself.

The total BTC adds up to 21.71934119 which doesn't match BitOffers numbers as well.

I've made a spreadsheet of the total BTC collected by Member # and the total BTC still remaining in each Members wallet.  Hopefully this will be useful for all involved.  All numbers are from the Blockchain.  If you see any errors let me know.

YESSSSSSSSSS

http://doge.netcodepool.org/ BACK UP!!

Go and get your doges!

Got my coins out!  Smiley

Pool just has 3 active miners now with hashrate of 2.27 mh/s.

How many thousands of miners and thousands of gh/s did it have before it imploded?

Guys, if you had balance in your DOGE.NETCODEPOOL.ORG account, your DOGEs are safe and you'd be able to cash out once website is up, which will be very soon.

Netcodepool is in LTC mining since 1.5 years. They are migrating to better servers that are enterprise level.

Not to mention the fact that auto-payout has been working all day. Got several 20k payouts the last 13 hours. Wink

I'm quite sure I still haven't gotten an auto-payout from netcodepool that I should have had already.

And I'm quite sure that I've got only two thirds of the coins I've mined today at Netcodepool.

you guys - srsly - what's going on. now the pool is dead to - ripping everyone off or what?

Netcodepool website been down for what a day now?  Anybody else been able to get in to look at their balances?  Thankfully most of my coins out and I pointed my miners elsewhere as soon as I couldn't log in.  A few hours understandable.  This long,  Hmmm?
Enough already.

Guys, Netcodepool has an official forum where you can stay updated about the frontend upgrade.

Thanks for the heads up about the up until now unknown "Official Forum".  If a website is down how can you know about it's forum?  Anyway went there and last news is that not only is front end down but mining is affected as well.  If anybody has miners point at netcodepool, buyer beware.  Sorry, but people ought to know.

Hi,

New to pool.  Cryptsy seems like the logical choice for directing coins but when you create deposit address at Cryptsy it says "Do NOT mine directly to your Cryptsy deposit address."  Is this a real concern or more a CYA thing on Cyrptsy's part.

I haven't read through this entire thread but is Cryptsy a pretty reliable place to withdraw coins for multipool, coin exchange prices not considered.  Also I looked on the help page of multipool and it appears I would be safe to set "1" coin as the auto-withdrawal default without incurring any extra fees (NVC, CGB, and CAP would be more expensive to withdraw often because of transaction fees)?

Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure what Vern means is not to use a Cryptsy deposit address as a P2pool address. If you join a P2pool directly your username is your wallet address. Using an exchange address means the exchange cannot identify the proper account to credit. Not a problem for MP. Most of my coins go to Cryptsy.

Also, for BTC, LTC & PPC consider Vault of Satoshi if you want to convert to dollars. https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/home

Thanks, that is the info I needed.  Smiley

Great site!

Sorry if this has been covered but I haven't seen it.

When I click Time Period ---> 1w 3d 1d   I seem to get the all time chart for all exchanges using all charting options I have tried.  Am I missing something here?  Do I need a premium account to see beyond 12h?

Hi,

Apparently I need to post to the newbie thread to move over to the other threads.  I have a couple of questions and I would imagine these are substantial.  One is probably appropriate to this thread and the other probably belongs elsewhere.

First, whenever I do an initial keyword search and I do a search again it will tell me that I must wait 90 seconds to search again.  This seems like an unusually high threshold.  I could understand if I was doing a search high query every few seconds or so but hitting this limit after the second search seems odd.  Is this the usual limit or is this because I'm a newbie?

The reason I'm here is because I'm having difficulties using the stratum-mining-proxy written by slush.  The stratum-mining-proxy was working fine yesterday but it will not connect as of last night.  I would like to go to the appropriate forum but the search limit is too frustrating to find the appropriate forum.

It would also be fun to be a part of this forum as I have just started mining with bitcoins and would like to read and talk about the industry.

Thanks in advance.
